I would just like to emphasize that V&R is a work of fiction. Any resemblance of people, places, events and even circumstances you may stumble upon besides in this novel is/are purely coincidental. The concepts, etc., present in this novel are altered and/or reshaped to fit the story's plot. Specifically, the concept of life after death and others. I am new to this genre but I will put in the effort and hard work this story deserves.

Spirits get trapped in the mortal real at times from getting lost or having a horrific death. Or maybe because of regret, pain, being in a lot of pain when they died, or just refusing to cross over.

The realm of souls provides them with an intermediate state after death and shelter for the meantime as they reflect on their lives on earth.
