The film, Queen of the Damned, is a 2002 film adaptation of Anne Rice Queen of the Damned. This book is a part of The Interview with a Vampire series. Queen of the Damned is about musician Letshat. While the most memorable performance was played by singer Aaliyah, who plays the role of Akasha the Queen of the Vampire. Akasha is a true force to be reckoned with because she has immense power and is ancient. Akasha becomes enticed by Letshat and his music and decides to make him her King. Akasha brings Lestat to her new home, where the two vampires feed on each other. Lestat becomes spellbound by Akasha and is forced to obey her.

I recommend giving this film a chance because it showed that Aaliyah was more than just a singer, she was also a great actress. Many have said that the movies aren't like the books, but I think the movies still have a charm to them.
