The lovelorn reach for Cupid's arrow

     but as often find instead remorse.

Wisdom takes a different course.

It seeks not flesh but marrow.

The "wise" may offer

     words best fit for brothers,

"If you seek wisdom, know thyself."

To them I say,

"I  know myself but far too well!

I wish to know another."
