Dark

Okay guys, I'm sorry about not getting this chapter out sooner but I've just not been interested in writing here lately. I've been exercising, fishing and hanging out with friends. I've also been a bit depressed because I just found out that my dad has cancer and I apologize for not being able to get this out sooner than now.

Another thing. I will probably have too update stories slower. I have my one story on my other account and I've been wanting to upload some new stories though I know I should wait till this one is done. Plus I have started school so that will take a lot of my time.

I'm sorry, but hey, NEW CHAPTER RIGHT?!

P.S. while I'm writing this I'm playing the original pokemon red X3. Anybody reading who likes the new pokemon go?

I open my eyes from the sunlight shining in my eyes  and am surprised to see yellow flowers everywhere. I rise up from the ground and look around to see I'm in a cave of sorts with light filtering in from above. I gasp when it seems my body starts moving on its own towards a doorway farther down in the cave.

It feels as if I'm not in control of my body, just a mere observer from inside like I'm looking through a window. I feel dread enter me as I watch myself walk through the weird cave. The rock walls had shifted to bricks forming rooms. They we're scattered with already solved puzzles and lots of dust. The dust would seem natural with an old cave but this dust wasn't spread out on the ground in a layer they were in likes as if someone dumped a bucket of ash on the ground. When ever I glanced at a pile I would feel an uneasy feeling in my gut as if it was more than just dust.

I, or my body, kept walking until it can across a small little house. It was cute and built into the end of the strange cave/ ruins place. I could smell some food drifting out from the inside and instantly recognized it as Toriel's pie. When my body stopped in front of the house I seemed to gain control. I ran up to the door and knocked on it.

"Toriel!"

I waited a few seconds and frown, she usually answered pretty quickly. I wait a minute in case if she was busy with something and knock again. After waiting a few more minutes I try to open the door and I am surprised when it actually opens. Toriel always locks her door if she wasn't there.

I walk inside the house and notice how the inside looks exactly like the first floor of her home.

I mentally slap myself for not realizing that this was the underground sooner. The place that my body had taken me through must've been the ruins that Frisk had told me about. Funny, she never told me about the strange piles of dust, and she made sure to describe every detail.

But, how did I get here?

I look through out the house for any signs of Toriel or anybody at least but come up empty handed. She had to be here though because of the freshly baked pie that was in the kitchen. There was only one slice that was taken from it so it shows that someone had ate a bit too.

I remember Frisk telling me that the basement lead to the rest of the Underground so I headed down there. The farther I went down the long tunnel, the worse my bad feeling got.

Relieve instantly fills me when I see Toriel standing at the end of the hall, I smile and run towards her only to freeze in horror as I see her throw a fire ball at a smaller figure.

"FRISK!!!" I feel her name rip through my throat as I see the fireball hit her square in the chest. I remember Frisk telling me about Toriel testing if she would be able to make it out in the rest of the Underground, but I just can't stand here and watch this. I run towards them again and try to grab Frisk but my arms just go right through her and I fall on the ground.

I turn around and look at Frisk and Toriel who both seem to not even realize I'm there. I turn back to look at my hand to make sure I'm not transparent or something. I hear Frisk move behind me so I turn to see her hold something in her hand and run at Toriel.

I gasp in shock and dread as I see Frisk pull a knife across Toriel's torso. Toriel looks just as shocked as she hits the ground and stares at Frisk with horror.

"Did you really hate me that much?" I hear her as as I hold my hand over my mouth and feel tears leak from my eyes.

"Now I understand, I wasn't trying to protect you from them." She says with a pause as she trys to take a deep breath " I was trying to protect them from you." my eyes widen as I watch her body crumble into dust. I stand up and back away from Frisk as she turns around towards me with a evil smile, and...red eyes? Frisk doesn't have red eyes.

Suddenly Frisks features change. Her skin turns pale, and she is wearing a green and yellow sweater with brown shorts and her hair is a lighter shade of brown with a reddish tinge. I tremble in fear as she chuckles and raises her knife at me.

"Your all idiots, did you really think you would be safe? As long as I'm around I'll make sure you all suffer!" And then she charges at me as slashes her knife across my chest.

I gasp and sit up right, my hand instantly reaching for the necklace that always rests on my chest. After catching my breath I look around to see where I am. I sigh as I realize I'm in my room and release the necklace from my grasp. It seems like I've just had that nightmare again...but something was different this time. This time Frisk had turned into someone else. I fall back down in the bed and glance over at my alarm clock. Its 3 in the morning...great.

I turn around and try to go back to sleep but every time I close my eyes I see Toriel's shocked dying face and the one girl with the glowing red eyes. I open my eyes and sigh before grabbing my phone on the bed side table. I look through my messages before finding Sans'.

Y/N: Hey you awake?

I don't have to wait long before my notification goes off.

Sans: Yeah, what's up?

Y/N: Nothing really, I just can't sleep.

Sans: Care to share why?

Y/N: It's nothing really...

Sans: ...okay...do you want to go out somewhere?

Y/N: Where?

Sans: Well Grillby's is a 24 hour restaurant.

Y/N: Really? Does he ever sleep?

Sans: He is literally living energy.

I smile and roll my eyes before getting out of bed and turning on my light.

Y/N: Give me thirty minutes.

Sans: Okay I'll be outside.

I set the phone back down on it's charger and walk over to my bathroom to take a quick shower. After the shower I put on a T-shirt and some shorts and start brushing through my hair. After getting all the knots out I decide to not put that much effort in my hair and I just tie it up in a messy bun. After doing my hair I make sure to finish the next necessity's such as brushing my teeth and adding deodorant before walking down the hall towards Frisk's room.

I smile when I glance in the room and see her peaceful sleeping face. I watch her for a bit as she slowly breathes in and out and for a minute the Frisk from my dream comes to mind. No that wasn't Frisk, the person Frisk turned into. I find myself searching for any signs of my dream becoming a reality by looking at her hair and skin.

The girl from my dream had reddish brow hair and pale skin but the girl I'm looking at is definitely Frisk, with her brown hair and tan skin from playing outside all the time. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in and walk out of the doorway. I walk downstairs and try to shake the thoughts of my dream out of my head. Mindlessly I slid on my shoes and head towards the door. I pause before opening it and think about what I'm going to tell Sans. I don't really want to talk about my dream but knowing Sans he's not going to stop bothering me till I tell him why I texted him at 3 in the morning.

I lift my hand to my necklace that I haven't taken off since Sans gave it to me a month ago. I smile as I remember that night.

The last night I got a good nights sleep.

That nightmare had been plaguing my dreams for almost a whole month. Everyone had noticed my mood change and lack of sleep and I told them I just couldn't fall asleep due to insomnia. Which Alphys gave me a pill for and I had worked in letting me sleep but it seemed to just make the dreams worst.

Sometimes it would just be the little monsters such as Froggit and Whimsum. Other times it would be Undyne, Alphys, Tori, Asgore and all the others.

But the worst of all was Papyrus, He was just too sweet...He would tell Frisk that he believed in them even though you could see the fear in his eyes. And after he would just give them a sad smile before turning to dust. His face was always the last to disintegrate so you could see him smile till the end. The only thing left of him would just be his soft red scarf  flapping in the slight breeze.

I sigh and lay my head on the door in front of me, the cool surface bringing me some comfort. I know I can trust Sans, they are just dreams after all and I've shared a lot of secrets and thoughts with him so why can't I trust him with something my mind made up in my sleep. I pull my head away from the door and open it to find Sans leaning on the door frame outside.

"Sounded like you were practicing sighs in there." He said with is usual smile plastered on his face. He looks closer at me and the smile drops "Hey you okay? And don't even think about lying."

I shrug and walk out the doorway to turn around and lock up. "I'll admit I've been better."

"You look exhausted."

"I feel exhausted." I say turning back to him after making sure that the door is locked. I wonder for a moment if the Tori in my dream had locked her door that she wouldn't have gotten killed but I push it aside when I see Sans worried face.

"Why are you up so early then? Haven't you been taking the pills that Alphys gave you?"

"I had for a while but...honestly the reason I can't sleep isn't insomnia." I say leaning back into the door again. Sans does the opposite and pushes off the frame to stand in front of me.

"What do you mean?"

"I just...can we talk about it at Grillby's? Please? I wanna sit down."

He looks at me oddly but nods and hold out his hand. I take it and I don't even have to close my eyes anymore as we teleport to Grillby's. Without letting go of my hand he walks me over to a more secluded booth in the corner where we sit across from each other.

Grillby glances at us, his flames flickering curiously. Probably wondering why we didn't sit in our usual spots. Sans waves at him and he comes over to ask us for our order. We both just get a burger and a drink, I'm honestly not that hungry but I could feel Sans glare at me when I said I didn't want anything.

After Grillby left Sans turned towards me leaning his head in his hands. I turn away from his eyes and look out across the restaurant. Surprisingly, the place isn't empty as I had thought. It's not full either but about half the place is full of monsters. Sans clears his throat and I slowly move my head to look towards him. He has a unamused look on his face. "Y/N, it's time to talk."

I look down and nod "The reason why I'm so bone tired right?" I add the pun to try and lighten the mood. He lets out a small chuckle and I smile, but in a second it's immediately gone when the image of my dream pops in my mind.

"Well... I'm just going to cut to the chase, I've been having nightmares." I say looking up again. Sans nods "Are they about Frisk dying?" I shake my head "No, but it is about Frisk...I think..."

"You think?"

"Well..."

He grabs my hands from across the table. "It's okay Y/N. You can tell me."

I look at him start in the eyes and let the story slip from my mouth. As I continue I watch as his eyes go from his usual bright blue to a pit of black.

He looked scared.

And now I was too.
