Chapter 9

Jimin entered the halls of the university in a hurry as he was almost late for his lecture.

His steps were a bit sped up and his thoughts were yet to settle from the previous conversation he had with his cousin and the rushed words he exchanged once you had gotten to his apartment. Unfortunately, he had no time to stay and explain what was going on with you and he felt a bit bad that he left you in worry still but he had promised that he was okay and had everything under control and that he was going to talk to you about everything once he gets of work.

You were more than understanding as always yet he was the one overthinking his behavior and if his rushed state had made you in any way feel rejected or declined by him which definitely wasn't his intention.

His thoughts kept revolving around you till someone called his name, bringing his feet to a halt, and soon his thoughts too as he saw before him someone that wasn't expecting to see. To not say someone whose existence he had completely forgotten.

"You haven't changed one bit." Song Nari, an ex-professor of this university and the second woman after entering with which he got in a romantic relationship, was once again standing before his eyes with a smile, despite the curses she had thrown at him the last time they had encountered each other.

Nari sure was not pleased with how TaeHyung had back then trapped her in his game, nor was she pleased with the fact that Jimin had left her to become a toy to serve between his and his brother's issues. To be honest, though, Jimin was madder than she could have ever been towards his brother because it was the first time Taehyung had really started acting on his threatening claim that consisted of the fact that he was gonna take away every woman he ever gets involved with. However, he was his brother and there was no way he would choose anyone else before him, not even when he was his enemy and as such of course he didn't hold on to Nari and their relationship, he just let her go, keeping his pain of being cheated on to himself.

"Yeah, I know, time is always nice to me," Jimin replied in a rather narcissistic tone but he preferred that option over the typical response that she hadn't changed either.

"You have grown more confident I see." She added calmly and Jimin nodded his head a bit.

"I have also grown to be busier so if you don't mind, I have a lecture to attend." He passed her by without a split second of hesitation, not planning to waste his time on dealing with why she has come to see him out of the blue and what may be that she wanted to talk to him about. Whatever it was she better wait for him to get free first or if she can't do that then she could go back to wherever she came from.

His mood surely was not in a state where he could endure much and his behavior made it quite obvious to her that she had stood before him at the wrong timing. However, that was no that big of a problem. She had lots of free time after all so if she had to wait around to speak to him, she would do just that. She had a lot of things to tell him after all, or better said she had a request to make.

---Change of set---

Taehyung had reached the company of his father and was now inside the room which was once his office. His picture along with his mother was standing on the desk at the side of his desk and next to it was a picture of him and Jimin from when they were kids. Mr. Park had kept on his desk those two pictures since he could remember and now he found himself looking at them, with emotions different than the usual.

Their family was the only part of Taehyung's life that felt like a piece of paradise to him and remained so in his memory even after his mother passed away, and his family started changing. And because his parents held such importance to him, he felt quite raged at the fact that someone dared to claim words such as his cousin had uttered earlier.

The love his father always displayed for their mother was more than ideal, was better than any kind of love fiction had ever depicted through movies, series, or books he had read. Their love was he admired and held like a dear fairy tale that warmer his heart every time he was to watch them together looking into each other's eyes. Yet someone had dared to speak ill and stain that love that he held dear in his heart and his memories.

And for what? What reason could be justifiable for him to forgive such filthy lies? There was non as him too just like Jimin believed that this was some kind of scheme that his aunt might have planned without poor Jaehyun knowing that she was using him. He said that he overheard her talking to her therapist but there was no way that she would have been talking about such important things in her house, without making sure that no one was to hear her. There was no way his aunt would risk her husband -Mr. Jung- finding out of such a thing so she must have set a trap for Jaehyun to make him think that her words were true and for him to later come and bring those doubts over to him and Jimin.

That woman has no boundaries, using her own son to reach her goals.

He commented on his aunt in his head, feeling slightly pity about his cousin which to him had always been nice and so TaeHyung thought good of him and was fond of him till a point.

He remained on his chair for a few, trying to calm down his ragging emotions but in the end, he couldn't help but grab his phone and call someone he never thought that he would.

"Hello, aunt Jung. It's Taehyung...I would like to meet you."

----Change of set---

You stepped out of the metro station, returning from Jimin's apartment and heading home. With a swift movement, you closed a bit of your coat, feeling the sudden change of temperature once outside then you started walking on the pavement, with thoughts of what to prepare for dinner as Jimin was to come over.

Aish, I forgot to ask him about Daniel and let him know I let him stay over for a bit. Ah, he surely won't like this surprise.

You suddenly recalled, imaging already the stern gaze he would probably pull once he gets to know about it.

"Miss Mun Y/N? Right?" A  voice spoke, getting your attention as whoever was that spoke to you so suddenly seemed to know your full name. Once you turned around though you didn't saw anyone familiar.

"Hello." The unknown young man greeted in a friendly manner and as he bowed and looked at you again, you recalled having seen him before.

"Oh, the gentleman from the corridor. Hello, I am sorry, I didn't know that you knew me." You replied and proceeded to bow to him in order to not appear rude to the stranger.

"You don't seem to remember me though, I guess I shouldn't have bothered to stop you." The man seemed to be a bit apologetic yet the words he used left you perplexed.

"I am sorry but from where else am I supposed to remember you besides our exchange at the corridor earlier?"

"I am Jung JaeHyun. Jimin's cousin." He introduced himself and you let your eyes widen at the new information for a second as it had clarified his identity yet had not really given a response to what you had asked him.

"It's very nice to meet you then. I am Mun Y/N Jimin's girlfriend."

"I know." Was all he replied with a smile on his face that made you feel a bit awkward as it was normal he would have known, otherwise why would he have stopped you and take to you, to begin with.

"I guess you would know, yeah...em but from where was I supposed to know you. You may be Jimin's cousin but unfortunately, I have never heard of you prior to today." You reluctantly brought the conversation back to that question as you wanted to erase your curiosity over that unreasonable statement of his.

"Oh no, you aren't supposed to know me because I am Jimin's cousin. We have met way before you meet Jimin." JaeHyun stated, his words making you visibly confused as you proceeded to take a closer look at him, trying to recall if you had really ever encountered him before.

"I guess it is normal you wouldn't recognize me though. I have changed way too much since middle school."He added, making you froze instantly at the mention and only of that school.

"M-Middle school?" You uttered with a slight fear growing inside you, in case he was to know what had happened back then.

"Yes, and honestly I was shocked to see you earlier but also happy that you are alive after the things that happened back then. It's nice seeing that you are doing well." You felt as if someone had suddenly pulled the carpet under your feet as he spoke, your world turning upside down just by the mention of that time. But the fact that someone knew who was also a person close to Jimin had you panic more. Your breath felt heavy inside your chest as if you were inhaling rocks instead of oxygen that was light.

"Ah...yeah.. I am okay now..."You replied while trying your best to not show your emotions at that moment but it looked like you had failed to hide well your nervousness.

"Have no worries, It has nothing to do with me so I don't plan to tell anyone. It's just that... because back then you had helped me...since it happened to cross path with you so randomly, I thought I should take this chance to thank you. So, Thank you." JaeHyun gave you a sincere smile that left you speechless for a moment but as his smile grew wide, you finally recalled someone that held a similar smile.

A guy back in middle school who people used to bully because of his looks and chubby appearance. A guy who's names you didn't know nor you had paid much attention to it because he was not in the same class as you nor had any everyday encounters with you. Yet that guy had become the reason for your suffering just in a day.

He bowed and walked away without waiting for you to say anything back and honestly even if he was to wait you wouldn't have been able to utter much because what he had thanked you for was what had caused your childhood to become a living hell. A hell you wanted to shove away and leave it in the past where it belonged yet strangely it always found cracks to slip into your present, be it through your memories or insecurities or be it through other people like him that randomly showed up and filled you with fear.

What if one of them was to also randomly like this cross path with you again? Would you be able to survive them a second time?
