Chapter 4
Under the warmth of your blankets and the fragrance of Jimin's perfume that still remained on your sheets, you woke up this morning, finding him no longer beside you.
A phenomenon that wasn't strange as you immediately guessed that the time must have passed quite some and he must have left for work without waking you up.
The way his arms held you yesterday till you fell asleep on his chest made you smile slightly as you rose from the mattress and finally took a look at your room that was as dark as you remembered it as Jimin seemed to not have pulled the curtains.
"Just what time is it?"You mumbled to yourself before grabbing your phone and taking a look, at the time that was 10 a.m and at a message notification that was occupying your screen.
"Hey, Y/N. I wanted to visit you. How about I come over for breakfast? Let me know if you are free" Jungkook had texted and you rushed to reply with a yes before getting out of bed quickly and proceeding with your morning routine.
You were almost out of breath when you had entered the kitchen, thinking of what to make but the bell rang, not giving you the chance to touch anything.
A great. He came for breakfast yet there is no breakfast.
You sigh in disappointment as you approached the door and opened it, soon revealing a smiley Jungkook with his hands full of bags.
"Good morning Y/N~" He greeted cheerfully as he stepped inside and you smiled from the joy of seeing him again after some months since he hadn't come over.
"Good morning to you too Jungkook."You replied as you closed the door and followed him to the living room where he headed.
"You just woke up, didn't you?"
"How did you know?" You replied in confusion as he turned around and faced you.
"Your hair is betraying you" He chuckled before turned around again and placing the bags he brought on the table.
You just smiled awkwardly at yourself feeling embarrassed by the fact that in your hurry you had forgotten to brush up your hair.
"What's all those?"You questioned looking at the bags that he was now opening.
"Breakfast. Sira with Taehyung will be coming too so I brought lots."He informed you, getting you by surprise as you didn't know of such plans.
"Wait. When did you all arrange this to happen? And how come you told me nothing. It was gonna happen in my house after all."
"We wanted to surprise you. Sira texted me and told me that it would be nice if we all gathered together and of course I had missed you guys too so I made some time."Jungkook explained further and you smiled feeling happy for the friends you had.
"I am glad you could take some time. I missed Areum too. Is she coming?"
"A bit later. She had to go somewhere first."
"Great, then you fix the breakfast and I will fix this mess of a hair before others come and I embarrass myself further, "You said and Jungkook laughed at you while watching you hurry towards your room.
Even though it had been some months you hadn't met and he was a bit afraid the atmosphere would be stiff because of the time gap, it seemed that nothing had changed and he was happy that it was so.
You still were comfortable with him and he was comfortable with you and that put his mind at ease that you weren't friends just because you were housemates, you were friends cause you really cared for each other and had things in common. Things that may have never been spoken out loud but he knew them.
From food preferences to environmental requests and mutual respect you shared for each other's boundaries while living together all these years, to common taste in TV shows or movies which whenever he was to find you watching in the living room he used to pretend that he wasn't interested only to get in his room and watch the same on his laptop.
Jungkook moved around the house as if a day hadn't passed, feeling as if he was in his own home, grabbing plates and glasses and rearranging the food he had bought nicely on them, before placing everything in good order in the table.
"Wow, you never were this neat" You commented once you returned, in an attempt to tease him a bit.
"Areum could literally throw a plate at my head if I was to get messy."He replied with a smile, making you laugh at his exaggeration.
The doorbell rung immediately after, making you enthusiastic thinking that the rest of your friends had arrived but as you hurried and opened the door, your enthusiasm vanished once you were met with a stranger at your doorstep.
"G-Good morning"The young man stuttered as he greeted you with a bow.
"Good morning. What can I help you with ?"You asked as you left your eyes travel quickly on him, noticing a suitcase left behind him.
"I- I am Kang Daniel. Your new roommate."He stated and you left your eyes to grow of surprise for a second as Jimin hadn't told you anything about accepting the guy he met in your stead yesterday. Yet here he was, with a suitcase on his hand standing before your apartment door.
Did Jimin forget to tell me that he concluded in an agreement, mayhaps?
You thought for an instant before gifting him a polite smile and welcoming him inside.
--- Change of set---
Jimin walked out of the auditorium after he finished his first lecture for the day then proceeded to walk towards his office, ignoring the murmurs his presence gained along the way.
His new hair color had caused quite a stir from the first day he had changed it and despite the fact that he couldn't fully understand why it was such a big deal, he enjoyed the reactions.
For some reason no matter what students would come and go in his auditoriums, he gained the attention of them all for good or for bad and occupied their thoughts of agony or not and that was a fact that made him satisfied with his job.
A small smile lured on his lips as he brushed his hair back before reaching for the handle of his door and entered the room, with a full smirk as the squeaking sounds of voices went on behind him.
They will never stop being entertaining.
He thought to himself as he approached his desk and sat on his chair, soon putting on his round glasses and opening his laptop to take care of some business related to the company while he had these two hours break before his next lecture.
Since the day his father had died, all responsibilities had fallen on him and his time had really gotten filled with work more than anything else. There were days that he felt incredibly tired because of it and others guilty that he wasn't able to make enough time for you yet you had not complained, not even once.
Whenever he was to pass sleepless nights working, you stayed awake too, seating beside him even though he wasn't able to pay much attention to you. And truly he was to feel bad every time he was to glance over at you briefly but feel grateful as well because even though he didn't have the time to speak much you still managed to make him feel less alone.
On days that he was devastated, even though he as mostly used to do, wasn't able to fully show his devastation on the surface, you still had managed to support him right and soothe his pain gradually.
If he was to say that he loved you till that day, after his Father's death he sure had grown to love you in a different way. A way that made his heart fall in reassurance cause he now knew. He had found the one he would like to spend all his life with.
Jimin shook his head and smiled to himself as he without noticing had slipped in thoughts of you once again and he couldn't help but find it funny, how you would distract him sometimes without you even being there.
He cleared his throat and straighten his face, trying to look professional even though he was alone in his office till he heard a knock on the door that is, which brought him into his cold persona in an instant.
"Come in."He voiced steadily, expecting to see some colleague of his or some student that may have found the courage to face him for something.
However as the door opened, he realized that his assumptions were wrong as he faced a man which he had not seen for a long time.
"Hey there, cousin. Long time no see."
"Jung JaeHyun" Jimin uttered in surprise seeing the son of his aunt so suddenly.
