Ash stood over his body, stunned. He couldn't believe it. He was finally free from the Kivuli. So why did it hurt so bad?

He froze as footsteps approached in the forest behind him. He slowly turned to face the newcomer. His eyes widened at the sight of the cloaked figure. He ran, arms outstretched, and held onto the figure tightly. Tears fell hard and fast as a hand stroked his cheek.

"They can't hurt you now," the reaper said softly.

Ash buried himself into the reaper's chest, shaking and sobbing. His claws dug into the cloak.

"It's time, little kit. Are you ready?"

Ash sniffed and nodded. The reaper gave him a gentle smile and pulled the kit close. A moment later, the two were gone, leaving behind Ash's body in the growing storm.
