Roman's POV

"Are you okay?"

I look up to Victor who is staring at me with a worried face. I sigh, looking away from him and my gaze drop down to my lap where Dee is sleeping soundly. I smile at the boy and then remember that I was asked something.

"I fine." I mumble and Victor sighs and sit beside me.

Dee was added to our cell some days ago. He had not talked to me for a day but I didn't give up on him. The next day he ended up telling me his name and we talked about nothing important all throughout the day. The next day was when he had asked to stay with me and that's how I started pleading to the guards that checked on us, to let the boy in our cell. It wasn't easy and they refused at first but I didn't stop until the gave in and let him with us. He told me his name was 'Dee' and I wondered if that was all but he couldn't say anything else.

At first Dee only talked to me and clang to me at all times. Slowly he got used to my friends and now he can talk to them but when sleeping it's always in my arms. He immediately wakes up when I settle him on the floor or pass him to any of my friends. So I've gotten used to having him in my arms while he rest. He has been sleeping for some time and he will soon be waking up.

"They are coming." Jordan announce and soon the door the prison cells open and two guards come in with Chandler. She looks exhausted and I know what I need to do about that. The guards push her inside and she nearly falls but Kiera holds her. They lock the door and walk out, leaving us to ourselves.

"You look not so good." Nicolette comments and Chandler rolls her eyes.

"Thanks." She replies dryly to Nicolette who shrugs. "I have things to tell you." Chandler announces to us all and we give her our undivided attention.

"The Queen is looking for her nephew or niece, because she's not sure. There is some sort of prophecy about the child and the kingdom and to avoid it, she's trying to kill her own sister's child. What they didn't expect is the Queen's long forgotten wound to once again cause her problems. Her situation is really bad that she can die and that's why they wanted a Rolyn to heal her." She explains and we all stay silent, processing the information.

"How did you get that?" Kiera ask.

"Sometimes I think they forget I'm there and talk about it but its only today that I've figured it all out." Chandler answers.

"Is that all?"

"No." Chandler pauses and by the blank look on his face, I wonder what will come next. "I heard some of the guards talking about Nate. It wasn't good."

"We need to do something to get out of this place. The longer we stay here, the less chance of us surviving. Roman can't continue transferring his powers to Chandler, it will kill him." Victor says and I frown.

If I can't help Chandler then she will die. I can't not help her.

"But Roman we can't continue doing it. Victor is right. We either die or complicate something in our life." Lyn explains but I'm still not agreeing to it.

"How we leave?" I ask Victor and he looks at me.

"We fight. We all know how to do that here."

"Just this once we can help out Chandler but it will be the last time and I mean it."

I smile at Lyn's words and tell the guys about it. Victor was refusing but ended up agreeing to it after I convinced him that I'll be alright doing it just this once. Dee was awake when I settled him on the floor and I started the transfer.

"Manny!" I heard Dee calling me but I don't reply. I can't reply even if I want to because I have to focus on singing the song.

"Don't interrupt him. Wait he will be done soon." Kiera warns the child but he protest by calling me and Kiera carries him.

I close my eyes and ignore the noise Dee is making and focus. I've done this a lot in the past days but I can't get used to the pain I'm feeling. It's different every time I do it and this time I agree with Lyn that we will die if we do it again. But even with that knowledge, I know I will do it again if the situation calls for it. My Ken needs to hurry up and get me out of this place and I can only hope he's on his way. I'll just stay alive until he comes.

I open my eyes and the first thing I feel is Dee's little hands on my arm. Lately I've been passing out after the transfer with Chandler that I'm not surprised it happened again this time. I start to get up but Jordan stops me.

"You should not sit up." He orders and I don't have the strength in me to argue with him. So I lie back down looking at the roof but then Dee blocks my view as he peers down at me.

"Hey," I greet him with a smile.

"Manny I'm not lying." He pouts and I wonder what he's talking about. "Uncle V don't believe me." He says again and I look around and my gaze land on Victor who sighs and come to me.

"Dee claims he saw someone here when you were doing the transfer. He wanted to disturb you and tell you that but Kiera held him back. He kept shouting though and he only got quiet when you passed out." He explains and I look at Dee who is still pouting.

"A boy was here. I saw him Manny." He insist.

"A boy who we both didn't see but you. I'm sorry kid but I can't believe that. Neither will Roman." Victor say smugly and Dee looks at me with cute pleading eyes.

Victor is right though. I can't believe him because there isn't anyone with us when the guards exit the door. Dee must have been mistaken. I try formulating nice words to let the kid down but he notice my answer before I say it and I groan at the sad face he gives me.

"Dee-"

"You don't believe me. I'll show you."

Before I ask how he will do that, he place his left hand on his forehead and his right hand on mine. I gasp when I feel the images intruding my mind and just like he claimed, I see a boy standing outside the cell and looking at me in awe. I had my eyes closed and was surrounded in a light. The bird was not flying but it rested on my shoulder. After I pass out, the guards didn't take long before they came to take Chandler and the boy walked out with them.

"See? I wasn't lying." Dee removes his hand and smile at me. I look at Victor worried at what this means.

"He no lie. A boy here and he saw." I tell the guys and no one comments a thing. They know I can't lie about it and possibly saw what Dee just did.

"If the boy was sent here deliberately then we are busted." Noel mumbles and Nicolette agrees.

"What about Chandler?" Kiera ask and no one replies to her.

'There is nothing we can do but wait to see what happens.'

'I'm scared Lyn.' I admit as I sit up with my back to the wall. Dee comes up to me and I take him in my arms.

'I know but we need to stay strong for everyone here. It will be alright.'

I wonder if the whole 'alright' thing she is saying to convince me or herself? We are one and I can feel how frightened she is. We are too weak to fight for survival. The only hope we have is if Ken comes for us.

'He will come for us.' Lyn assures me and I nod.

The sound of the door opening makes us all jump and stand with hopes of seeing Chandler. But the mere absence of her or food when the guards come in sets off an alarm. They either come in to give us food or to take in and out Chandler. I watch them with dread as they open our cell door and points at me.

"Get up! You are coming with us." He shouts and Noel come to me then carry Dee away from me. Victor stands defensively in front of me which makes the guard snarl at him. I touch his hand and he looks at me.

"No do that. I go."

"But-"

"Chandler need me."

He sighs but he knows I'm right. We don't know how Chandler is and me going is the only way to find out. Surprisingly, Dee doesn't throw a fit that I'm leaving and he watches me go as I follow the guards out. Once the door is closed, the boy I saw in Dee's memory  appear and he smiles at me.

"I'll take him from here." He announce and then use his magic to teleport us somewhere.

We arrive in a fancy looking corridor and we walk towards a closed door. The door opens when we approach it and we walk inside. The room seems to be a bedroom since there is a huge bed where a woman is lying and a man is sitting beside it. He looks away from the woman and to us as we near the bed.

"That will be all Franklin. Say hi to your grandmother for me." The man speaks and I guess it is directed to the boy beside me.

The boy bows and then vanish. I look away from the now empty side and meet the man's gaze. He doesn't look happy to which I deduce it's because of his sick wife. But the anger in his eyes, I have a feeling it's directed to me. I swallow nervously but I don't look away from him.

"So you've been hiding while my wife is painfully slowly dying."

His voice makes a chill run down my spine, not in a good way. I wish to be far away from this place but I know I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

"I'm talking to you!" He snaps and I jump in fright.

"S-sorry I-I di-"

"I'm asking you politely to heal my wife right away." He says in a calm voice like he didn't scare the hell out of me a second ago.

"But," I pause and look away from him. "I can't." I murmur looking down at my feet.

The man starts laughing and I look back at him. I'm not sure why he's laughing because I didn't say anything funny and neither have I heard a joke that made him like that. He stops bluntly and then starts walking menacingly towards me. I stay frozen on the spot and watch him close the gap between us.

"All I want is for you to shed me a tear. Franklin mentioned about the Phoenix. Not all Rolyn's have a Phoenix but its good that you are. Now all I want is for you to change into your Phoenix and shed me a tear. Very simple." The man gives me a sick smile and I'm left speechless at what I heard. That's impossible.

'Actually, it's possible but at the moment it is impossible.'

'What?'

'I wanted to tell you about this when you reached the age of 18, after you successfully change into my form. But you haven't done that and changing into that form will be impossible.'

"With your expression, I take it you didn't know you could do that. Like I said, it's very simple and you will do that for me."

I shake my head as I process what Lyn was telling me. I didn't understand it and it was confusing me.

'Just like Aang needed to master water bending before earth bending. You need to know how to change into your wolf form before you change into your Phoenix form. But that's the least of our problem. We don't need to help these people. If she dies we will be getting rid of evil on this earth.' Lyn explains.

"I can't." I repeat my answer to the man.

"But you have no say on this sweetheart. Did I mention what I'd do to get what I want?" He ask and hold my hand.

In a blink, we leave the room and he starts pulling me as he walks along a dark corridor. I stop when I see a man in a closed cell. His hands are bound to chains from the ceiling and there is some darkness around him.

"He's a traitor and that's the work of my wife. Every time he uses his magic, the darkness invade his mind. But he's stubborn and still uses it. If that continues then he will be dead soon." The man explains and pull me away from the cell. "Oh I forgot to tell you that he's your uncles mate. Your lucky you saw him before he die."

I'm still being pulled and I wonder if what I've heard is true. By uncles, did he mean uncle Cad and uncle Mike? My thoughts are interrupted when the man speaks once again.

"I'm not the bad witch most times because my wife covers that. But since you need a push, I'll act accordingly." He stops and stand me in front of another closed cell.

I gasp when I see Chandler being flogged. Her bare back is exposed and a man with a scary looking whip is beside her. I watch as he hits Chandler's back and I then hear her cry.

"What's it going to be sweetheart? Lucky me I have so many where that girl came from. If one dies, I'll take the other. I'll break you down until you give me what I want. When I'm done with you, you will cry me tears sweetheart."

I look away from Chandler, closing my eyes shut to will out the image. To my horror, it plays like a movie on replay in my mind and I know it's the man doing that to me.

'What do I do?'
