Roman's POV

It is morning and I'm currently in the woods, running alongside my mate. We started running some thirty minutes ago and we will soon be done.

I clutch my stomach and bend over with my other hand touching the tree. I breath a bit heavily as try to catch my breath.

"Are you okay Only?" My Ken ask after he changes form back to human and he has put on some shorts.

"Y-yeah." I answer and stand straight after I start breathing a bit better.

He holds my hand and we walk together back home. It isn't that far and in no time, we exit the woods and the pack house is seen in a distance. I don't usually breath that hard after a run but today we added a bit more distance and since I'm not yet used to it, that's why I had problems breathing at the end. But I absolutely love running and I don't mind doing it a bit longer today.

There are a few houses around the main pack house. Since my mate is King, most of his people are in different packs led by Alphas all around the kingdom.  The pack house is big and the beta family lives in it as well. The others houses around the pack house are mostly for the guards who lives here. Some have their families and stay with them here.

My Ken squeezes my hand in his and I look at him to find him looking at me as well.

"Ron wants to talk to you."

"Why?"

"He didn't tell me why but he assured me that it is nothing bad."

I nod at my mate and he looks away, probably linking Ron that I accepted to talk to him and soon enough, Ron walks out the house and run in our direction. We were still not yet to the house and when he approaches us, my Ken squeezes my hand again then kiss my cheek. He drops my hand and nod to Ron then he leaves us there.

"Good morning alpha." Ron greets and I smile.

"Hello." I say and we start walking slowly towards the house.

"You talk to me?" I ask and he nods.

"Yes I wanted to talk to you alpha. I want to thank you for what you did for me and my mate." He explains.

"No worry. I like your mate, he good like you."

"I'm glad you think so while everyone says he's bad. I know he was at some point with the enemy but I can't help it but like him despite it all. I also understand why people don't like him but it still hurts to know just how much my friends hate him." He sighs and I stop and hold his arm halting him.

"You no need worry bout people. Just you and him. Time come and friends like him but now no worries." I assure him and he smiles and give me a nod.

"If you have some time today, he wanted to see you. I know you are busy with a lot of things these days but I just thought I should tell you and maybe when you get some free enough time, you can come and see him."

"Yeah. I free and come. No sure when but I come." I agree and he beams and thanks me.

I smile and he escorts me the rest of the way to the house then he leaves for his duties. I enter the house and a guard escorts me up the stairs. They stay away though but close enough to jump in if I miss a step or something. It was my Ken's idea and now there is always a guard near the stairs who escorts me up or down the stairs. I didn't protest to his decision because I was glad he let me walk on my own.

I open the door to our room and walk in as Ken comes out of the bathroom. He smiles at me and I quickly gather my clothes and walk inside the bathroom. I close the bathroom door and get in the shower.

After a successful shower, I put on my clothes and exit the bathroom. I find Ken typing on his phone and he looks up at me when I walk towards the bed he's sitting at.

"Where is your phone?" He ask and I shrug. I don't really know where I had put it. "Look for it." He orders and I pout but the look on his face was serious which had me start looking for the phone.

After some minutes, I find it and give it to Ken. He takes it and motions me out of the bedroom and together we walk to his office.

Once in there, he puts the phone on charge and then looks at me.

"I won't be home today Roman. There is some things that I need to sort out with a few alphas in another pack."

"Details Ken." I press and he groans.

"Sorry Only. I have a meeting with few alphas about training of pack members. With that incident at the Justice pack that time, I want to make sure that each pack in my kingdom is strong enough to hold their own when fights breaks out with an enemy." He explain in detail and I nod.

"How long?" I ask.

"I'll be back by tomorrow evening."

"Okay."

"Now remember Roman. Don't let anyone talk you down. You are an alpha here and with me not around, it means you are in charge of everything. I want you to be strong and confident in yourself. You will be fine on your own Only."

"Okay Ken. I be strong and confident."

"Good. Now come on and let's go have lunch."

He hold my hand and we go to the dining room for breakfast. He still had my hand in his throughout breakfast and I liked it when he squeezed it as well. We leave the dining room and go outside where four cars are in line, ready for the journey. I stand aside as I watch my mate make sure everything is perfect for their journey.

"Only," he calls me and I walk to him.

"I want to introduce you to someone." He hold my hand and lead me to a man. "This is Klaus my third in command. He is also the commander in charge of the Kings army."

The man smiles at me and we shake hands in greeting.

"Klaus this is my mate and your alpha, Roman."

"It's an honour to finally meet you alpha." Klaus says politely.

"As it is to meet Commander."

He smiles and introduces me to his mate, Sonja. She is a lovely girl and I saw nothing but kindness in her eyes. I like her.

"You will be with Klaus while I'm away. He came for a meeting but I can't stay around for it at the moment. So he will stay with you as he waits for me to come back." My Ken explains and for some reason it makes me smile.

With how much he seemed to believe in me and that I will be fine on my own, I thought he brought Klaus to babysit me. But now that I know it wasn't like that at all, it makes me smile.

Ron and other warriors get in the cars and I know they are about to leave.

"Keep your phone with you at all times and make sure you answer when I call. I'll be worried if you don't answer. And remember everything I told you. You can also use my office while I'm not here. Its after all an alphas office and you my beautiful mate is one." He kisses my forehead and brings my face closer to his and then captures my lips in a kiss.

The kiss takes longer until Ron starts playing with the horn which makes Ken to pull away and shout at him to let him have me in piece. I laugh and the others around us laughs as well. I blush when I realise there were still people around while we kissed.

"Only, I have to get going. Be safe and wait for me okay?"

I nod with a smile.

"You be safe too."

"Thank you my Only."

He kisses my forehead and my neck where he takes a deep breath then he leaves and get inside the car. He has his head out the window when the car moves and he waves at me as I wave back. I watch the cars until they disappear and then I'm left alone to lead people on my own. I look around me and people are still around, so I bark out an order.

"Uh, get back to your post and duties."

The guards move back in their position and the others leave as well. I sigh in relief when they listen to me.

"Alpha." A voice calls me and I turn in its direction.

"Yes." I answer and look at Sonja who called.

"We had just arrived when the Alpha Kenneth was about to leave. What I want to say is that we have not been assigned to any room yet." She explains and I nod.

"Follow me then."

I walk inside the house and tell them to wait for me in the sitting room. I walk upstairs with the guard in tour and then to my room. Once inside our bedroom, I open the closet and find the safe box. This is where keys to some rooms in the house stay. They are rooms reserved for important people and the commander and his mate sounds important to me. I get a key to room number four and went back down to get the mated couple. I get them them and we take the stairs to the floor where the rooms are situated. I give them the key once we reach the door.

"Thank you Alpha." Sonja smiles.

I leave them to get settled and then head to the office. For once I'm glad that the tour that my Ken gave me days ago was helpful. I don't know what I could gave done if I knew none of the rooms existed. But now I'm sure I looked cool knowing what to do when necessary.

I sit down on Ken's office chair and turn on the laptop. It was five minutes after the time scheduled for lessons and I know the elder must be waiting for me.

"Hello Roman." She says when I connect us.

"Hi."

"What did we plan to learn today?" She ask me and I'm about to tell her when she stops me. "I'll be right back alpha." She says and then leave the screen.

I wait patiently for her to come back and it feels like forever when I finally see her coming back and sit on her chair.

"I think we should put on hold our lesson planned for today. I have something to tell you and I think we should work on it today."

"What is it?" I ask and she sighs.

"I really don't know if you already know about the Great Luna Week. Do you?"

"No. What is it?"

"It is a week that Lunas in all the kingdom meet together. A gathering where Lunas interact. It is led by the King's mate." Felicity explains and my heart beats faster.

"Me. Me?"

"Yes you my child. You are supposed to lead such s gathering. My mate called me minutes ago and he told me that this gathering has been scheduled in a month from now. Do you know what this means Roman?"

"Yes Felicity. I lead gathering." My voice comes out shaky and she notices.

"Are you okay child?"

"Yes I fine." I smile at the woman who calls me alpha, child, Roman and sometimes Luna. It was weird but I liked it.

"I end our lesson here Felicity. I need think bout gathering." I tell her and she nods with a smile.

"I'll be here same time time tomorrow. Don't think too much about it. Take it easy alpha."

I assure her that I'll be fine and then end the call. How I'm I going to face the Lunas of the kingdom? They will dislike me and deem me unworthy to be among them.

Don't forget I'm still with you little one. We will face whatever is thrown our way ten times stronger than it.

I smile when Lyn's voice sound in my head. Sometimes I forget she's here with how silent she can be.

I think to her and then I feel better than minutes ago. I stand up and decides its time to see Nathaniel. Edwin and his brother were away with some of Ken's warrior friends so I couldn't take him with me. With a smile and renewed, boosted confidence, I walk out the office and head to Nathaniel's prison.

I'm so gonna get ready and show the Lunas who's boss.
