Chapter Five

Sierra's POV
I couldn't see anything, and I couldn't feel anything. All I could sense was a presence around me, surrounding me, and it was pure evil. I could hear faint screaming, and occasionally could hear a voice, silky and taunting.

"You claim to be the daughter of the Lion? Ha! More like the daughter of a liar and fraud."
"King Peter could never truly love you. He won't ever marry you. He just pities you."
"You've been forgotten. They won't come for you. They can't defeat me."

I felt as if I wanted to scream, trying to clamp my hands over my ears, but I couldn't move. All I could do was try and block out the voice, thinking about the plans I has been secretly working on for the wedding Peter had promised would happen. But even that didn't work sometimes. The voice would get too loud, and I couldn't ignore it.

"Peter? Caspian, Edmund, Lucy? Aslan? Father? Anyone? Please.....Help me." I kept thinking the same thing over and over again, hoping someone would get me out. But so far? No one had come for me. And I was starting to doubt if they actually would.

Caspian's POV
We stared, shocked, at where the boat had been moments before, and at the griffin circling.

"Where did they go?" I asked, shocked.
"No one knows. The mist first appeared in the east, with reports of fishing boats disappearing at sea. You see, if you're not sold to the slave traders, you're likely to be fed to the mist." Edmund looked at me, fear in his eyes.
"Lucy.......and Cahira. We have to get to them." A few minutes later, we were pulled out, and dragged down towards the docks, and we passed where the traders were selling people.....And there was a battle going on. We quickly joined, and soon found a very familiar face. Peter. Soon after, we headed back for the Dawn Treader, now with an extra crew member. His wife had been put on the boat with Sierra, and he was desperate to find her. Peter smiled, perched on the side of the boat.

"It's good to see you all again. Where.....What happened to Sierra?" I took a deep breath, putting one hand on his shoulder.
"Lord Bern said they don't know where it came from, or where it takes the people. No one has ever been found after they've been taken." He took a deep breath, clenching his fists to keep them from shaking. He nodded slowly, and I could see him choking down tears.

"We have to find her. I promised her I'd marry her when I got back. I have to find her. We have to defeat it....Somehow." I smiled slightly, and nodded.
"We will, Peter. I promise." We continued to the east, and soon found another island, where we decided to stop for the night. In the middle of the night, I thought I heard a thump, but ignored it, thinking I was hearing things. I woke up to find giant footprints in the sand, and an empty bedroll.

"Edmund! Peter, wake up! Lucy's gone!" Peter shot up, rolling out of his blankets. Edmund crawled out of bed, but none of us noticed Eustace didn't wake up. We followed the footprints, and soon came to a garden of sorts.

"Lucy's dagger." Peter said quietly, picking it up. Then, he was knocked nearly ten feet across the garden, and into a bush. He grunted, springing back up fairly quickly and drawing his sword. That too was knocked away, as well as all our other weapons.

"There is no escape." Peter kicked at the one with his sword, and it hit him, blood now slowly dripping from a wound in his head.

"What sort of creatures are you?" I asked tentatively, and one chuckled.
"Big ones. With the head of a tiger, and the body of....."
"Of another tiger." Peter wasn't moving now, and then Edmund spoke up.
"What are you going to do to us?" He asked, fear obvious in his voice as he watched his unmoving brother.
"I'll bite you with my sharp teeth!!"
"And I'll claw you to pieces!!" They started slowly becoming visible, and I bit back a laugh. Cahira, however, couldn't, and I heard a giggle. They were simply fat little men with one foot.

"Don't you mean squash us with your fat bellies?" She asked, and they looked down, shocked.
"Or tickle us with your toes?" I asked, and they looked back up.
"They can see us! They can see us!" They started trying to get away, but we quickly got our weapons back and stopped them.

"Where's my sister, you little rat?!" Edmund snapped, and Cahira spoke up.
"And what did you do to him?!" She asked, pointing to Peter.
"He's just unconscious! We don't kill! And she's in the house!" I looked up and looked around. There was no house.
"What house?" Then, a huge mansion started becoming visible right as Peter stirred. I moved over, helping him up as he nearly fell back over.

"Ohhh......That house." Edmund said, and Peter pulled away from me, dropping to his knees nearby and puking.
"Are you okay?" I asked quietly, and he nodded, standing back up. Then, Lucy came around a corner with on old man, who was wearing a long robe.

      "You! It's you, magician!"
      "You oppressed us!!"
"You wronged us, magician!!" He shook his head.
"I did not oppress you." He finally scared them off. And we started to head inside. The magician, Coriakin, should have good information for us.
