Chapter 1

Angel meets Demon

Life smiles rarely. Because people aren't humorous enough.

We arrogantly think we can earn its smile but go on to put efforts into being serious. Who would laugh at that?

Seeing someone being desperate to get on the good side of life, it's not funny. People crawling, begging for some luck. Spending their nights destroying themselves, sobbing while wishing to wake up on the sunny side of hell.

Who can blame life for having a twisted humour? It had to laugh at something. And since nothing was funny, it started laughing at our misery.

However, even that is a phenomenon that occurs once in a blue moon. Even for that, you have to be lucky. For who are you, for life to notice you to begin with.

That fact was something he was painfully aware of, and maybe that was the reason why this meant so much more to him.

It felt like for the first time in his life, heavens had brought a solution to him in a golden tray.

What he needed.

The perfect cover.

His ticket to success.

He controlled himself from smiling as he walked down the corridors of the university. Back straight. Briefcase firmly under his hold. The black suit hugged his body just right.

A professional figure is intact and collected. Firm and unwavering just how everyone knew him to be.

The infamous demon.  Professor Park Jimin.

Mouths hushed as the sound of his footsteps echoed, and eyes followed him while he was on his way to his office.

Sneaky glasses, for more, dared to look straight in his eyes. And he sure liked it that way.

He casually brushed his blonde hair away from his forehead as the door of his office came to view. Excitement rising in his chest in ways that would have had him laughing out loud, if it wasn't for his exceptional self-control.

The students who were timidly passing him by fueled his satisfaction. " The taste of fear is so delicious"

He imagined how much worse the state of the student that was waiting for him inside his office must be.

Mun Y/N. A name he had not paid much attention despite the years that she had been part of his classes. Just like any other student, she was just one more face among the many. He barely recalled hearing her voice speak in any of his auditorium lectures, but somehow, her name usually gets brought up on the professors meeting table because of her high academic scores in written exams.

Something he personally considered useless cause if she couldn't participate verbally and communicate, he could not assign her a perfect score. And he hadn't.

Who would have thought, such a ghost of a woman, would have such a lively world inside her head.

You had accidentally send him by email, instead of turning in your assignment as you had been supposed to, some books you had written and ever at that moment he couldn't shake the flashing passages from them that would randomly occupy his mind.

It certainly had changed how he thought about you. That little mistake of yours had literally put your existence in the map of his world, as the solution he was looking for.

He fixed his necktie before he pushed his office door open, bringing to his few of your figures that instantly tensed up on the chair you were occupying.

The corner of his lips tagged upwards at the sight as he turned and closed the door behind him.

He made his way to his desk, erasing his smile and perfectly concealing his excitement over having the prey he needed right before him.

"Miss Y/N, thank you for sparing some time to meet with me." He maintained his proper persona as he broke the silence and observed the way you seemed frozen , staring at him.

Like a moth to a flame

"It's the least I could do, Sir..."

"I suppose you are aware of the reason I called you here today."

"Yes... Yes,Sir...I would like to ask you to give me a chance to explain myself, Sir. It's really not what it looks like." His eyes lowered to your hands as they were clenching each other tightly. Seemingly shaking a bit.

"I am afraid that I won't need your explanation, Miss Y/N...I have already concluded what to do with you." He decided to ignore her nervousness and proceeded to openning his briefcase and from it, pulling out some files he had prepared specifically for this occasion.

"I sure was tight on time, but I read both of the manuscripts you sent me. I would like to give you my apology for that for I shouldn't have done so after you confirmed that they weren't the project you had to deliver...however as a human, I couldn't hold my curiosity upon seeing my name being mentioned on the first page." He admitted his mistep on his part, for certainly it was curiosity what had made him open that attachment.

He had opened that email way after you had sent the many follow-up emails, telling him that the first email had the wrong attachment file and that it wasn't  the project.

You had spammed his email technically, with emails of the right project file attached to them and even though he had read the project first as that was what interested him, for he had to grade it, he still had found himself bugged enough from his couriosity to open the wrong attachment file, just to see.

And when he saw it, it certainly was not easy to stop. Who could ignore a document with his name all over it, after all.

"Leaving aside the evident talent that you have in the art of writing, I sure took notice of many other things stated that I think are worth discussing upon Miss Y/N"

"I swear I don't have a crush on you or anything. I just used your name because it fits, and I am bad at coming up with names. I have used the names of many others around me besides yours. The character has nothing to do with you, nor I will ever claim that it does. No one will ever read those books, I promise you. Just please, please let it go just this once. It will never happen again." Your desperation was showing as you let the words roll out in a hurry, your eyes looking at him steadily. However, what had immpresed him most was the way your tone of voice had risen to your own dismay.

"Calm down, Miss Y/N. I am not a person that would take advantage of someone's misstep...however I admit, in this case, I will be unable to let you go so simply." Jimin leaned back on his chair as he spoke, his face portraying no emotions whatsoever. Inwardly, however, his laughter echoed in his head.

Understanding how life feels like when laughing at us.

"But-But I am really sorry..." You trailed off, visibly distressed, but your state made his lips, betray his thoughts, as they slightly tagged upwards onto a smirk, and his head tilted slightly to the side as he maintained firm eye contact.

"Open that file, Miss Y/N." He told you as he gestured with his hand towards it, and you hesitantly reached out to it and pulled it closer. The slight trembling of your hands is still noticable as you proceeded to open it.

Your gaze travelled from him to the papers multiple times, giving him the ability to guess perfectly well what you might be thinking.

"What-What is all this?"

"It's a list with all the things you need to accomplish in order to get free from me." He replied nonchalantly as he grabbed a pen and brought it close to your hand.

He had no time to lose. No intent of giving you enough of a time gap that could allow you to think without the pressure.

He couldn't risk losing you. The ideal moldable weapon that could bring him what he was after.

"Till every last of them is fulfilled, you will be at my mercy Miss Y/N...You either sign this and give a chance to yourself to get out of this at some point, or we end this here, by publicly making you a creep who is obsessed with me and not only. Your choice."

The way you stared back at him in a lose for word had his heart beating fast in anticipation. For being so close yet so far from his aim had a certain thrill of its own.

"You-You said you weren't a person that would take advantage of someone's misstep..."

"Of course, I am not... I am way worse than that." Jimin couldn't hold himself from smirking as he slowly proceeded to take hold of your hand and place the pen among your fingers. Then, he guided your hand above the line where you were supposed to leave your signature.

"Worry not, Miss Y/N... For I can assure you, I will make your life turn out to be way better than you were ever able to imagine." He uttered words that he absolutely meant as he stared in your eyes.

Even though the fact that he planned to benefit big time from the changes he was going to make you go through was something he wouldn't mention to you.

Your hand proceeded to sign the paper despite the fear and doubts that were rolling in your mind and he leaned even closer, halting by the side of your ear before he left a whispering sentence to linger in the air.

"Welcome, Y/N...To your new path."

He snatched the paper away and stared at the signature in satisfaction. For this was his guarantee.

No matter how much time he is to waste on you to fix your anxiety issues and help you get out of your shell a bit, it will be worth it.

He will hone you to who he needed you to be, to achieve for him the things he couldn't.

A girl known as one to do no harm. The innocent one. The introvert would never play with anyone's feelings. And on top of it all - from what he had understood from reading her drafted books - an empath that cares a lot about people.

Life certainly had smiled way too brightly at him for bringing such a person to his notice.

The unquestionable one. The one no one would ever suspect.

The one that unknowingly will bring to him the desire that has been torturing his life for years.

You were the one that he had big plans for. The chess piece he obtained unexpectedly yet surely he was gonna make good use of you.

"You and I...are bound to each other."

To achieve the one and only reason behind all his achievements in life.

Before you all ask, no, I am not back to writing, I am still on hiatus. Don't expect any regular updates or anything at all. It's a very slow and chaotic spontaneous return to writing here and there.
No promises. No expectations. No burdens.
For me, at least😆

I felt like sharing it, so I did.  Nothing too serious.

Hope you enjoy it regardless.
