Chapter 6

A heavy thump echoed in my ears and a shuttered breath hissed from my lips. I squeezed my eyes shut as my stomach clenched. I groaned lowly, curling into a ball. My door slammed open. I jolted up from the sheets and clutched my head as the room blurred. A tall figure walked towards me. My eyes focused on a pale face with dark purple eyes and long yellowed teeth. My throat closed as my heart pounded.
I pushed against the bed until my butt hit the window seal. My eyebrows furrowed as the pale man from the woods stepped closer, his lips pulling into a cold smirk. I vibrated in fear, pushing my butt onto the lip. I scooted back to press my back against the cool window pane.
He stepped around the end of the bed, his black boots clicking on the wood. I whimpered, pulling my legs close to my chest. Goosebumps fluttered under my skin. He lifted a bony hand to reach for me. Fire blossomed as his skin clasped mine and a scream spilt through my lips.
"Cat! Cat, what's wrong?" My eyes snapped open to meet rich brown ones. "Girl, you're burning up. Come on, get off the window for starters." Margo pulled at my arms as I looked around the room. "Just lay down. I'll be back, okay?" She nodded her head, backing out of the room.
Where did he go? My eyes searched under the dresser to drag across the mirror. A pale color jumped out and my eyes snapped back to the reflection. A distantly familiar girl with blue eyes stared back at me. Her skin a flushed pale covered in a shiny gloss of sweat. I reached to touch the glass and the girl mirrored it. That's me?
I chuckled, drying. A cough ripped through me and I leaned down to my knees. I huffed on the floor, my eyes trained on the reflection. A black blur flashed across it. My brows furrowed and I sat up to face the bed. Crawling towards the dark blue blanket, my stomach curled with a growl. I gazed over at the closet and electricity nailed me to the corner of the bed. A tall heeled boot made of leather peeked from behind a white dress.
Found him. I crept across the bed and slid to the floor. My eyes stayed glued to the silver buckles of his boots. I jumped as my door opened to reveal Margo with a bottle of water. My eyes snapped back to the boot to see the cream back wall of the closet. Shit! "Cat... What're you doing?" She forcefully helped me on the bed, pulling up the blanket. I pointed a shaking hand at the closet.
"He's in the closet." My words mumbled together. She nodded, as she looked at her phone.
"Sleepy girl, sleepy girl."Margo hummed as my eyes itched and grew heavy.

I shivered. I couldn't see in the dark, yet I felt a presence behind me. "You little mouse." My bones rattled. I wanted to move; to run. My legs twitched yet stayed still like stone. "Go ahead, run. I love the chase." I remembered the woods; dark trees standing tall like soldiers, refusing my pleas, lurking above me. The cool breeze like a ghost child giggling in my ears, leaving shivers in my spine and disappearing like a dream.
Vibrations hummed at my back, a deep chuckle haughtning. "I'll find you." I whimpered as his cold flesh pressed into the nape of my neck. I heard him inhale deeply, feeling the hot air seep into my pores. "Oh, sweet, sweet, honeycomb," He paused as his lips brushed my ear. Goosebumps danced down my legs and sides, portraying one half of the coin my emotions were. One square of the Rubik's Cube I couldn't hope to decipher.
Heat followed by wet touched upon the shell of my ear. I shrieked, curling my body on instinct. An arm wrapped around my waist pulling me close to the iceberg creature he felt to be. The dark seemed to pulse around us; an unknown escape or an awaiting tiger? He chuckled lowly, the sound excited my core and terrified my soul. "Won't you let me have a taste?" Pleasure dripped from his words as he held my weight against him. I trembled like a leaf, curling as if I could wither away from his grasp.
Fingers appeared in my hair, gently messaging. I pressed together to stifle a whimper as tears slipped down my face. The fingers shot into a fist and pulled back. Heat blossomed on my scalp and I screamed as he pulled my hair tighter. His breath hit against my jugular as he hissed, "I don't ask twice, child." He spit the words like they were rotten.
My throat stung, I wiggled in his grip. My hips pressed flush against his, my legs dangling lifelessly as my brain fought to find an escape. The sting intensified to a burn until my neck was a blazing forest in the desert with no hope of water. He pulled my head back as he sank his teeth deeper, a growl escaping his blood coated throat. The pain carved into my flesh; I could practically see it being ripped apart in my mind. Warm blood dripped down my chest to stain my skin. My chest hardened as my breathing stopped. My pale weak fingers reached into his white blond hair and pushed with no effort. A heavy thumping beat on my chest as a tear rolled down my cheek.

“Cat, please, please. Oh my god, Cat.” A loud gasp escaped my lips as my eyes snapped open. Margo kneeled over me, her eyes swollen and teary. I coughed harshly, my chest burning. “Cat! Holy shit. What’s going on? This is insane.” She started sobbing, snot dripping from her nose. I groaned lowly.
“M...Mar-g...go.” I tried to clear my throat but ended up coughing. Blinking slowly as sleep tried to embrace me, I lifted my arm to touch her knee. As I set it down, a loud pop echoed in the quiet room. A tingling shot through my finger and hand.  Margo looked at my hand and gasped in horror. I hummed in confusion, as my eyes closed.
