Chapter 2

Hey so basically I will be posting these stories in increments of 2,000 words because that is how I wrote this story to get it done.

For the whole rest of the day I couldn't stop thinking about what happened when I touched Erika. That has never happened to me, I may just still be hung over from last night or something. It felt so real, almost like it was one of my memories from another life. It seemed like I once knew her. I didn't have any more classes with her but I know I just had to talk to her about what happened. I know she saw it too, I saw it in her face.

"What's up man?" My best bud Ron asks me bringing me out of my thoughts with a little scare.

"Whoa man, are you okay? You look a little pale."

"I'm fine, have you seen Erika I need to talk to her?"

"You mean that really hot new girl; yeah she was in my last class I saw her go that way." He said as he pointed to the double doors leading to the back of the school.

Before Ron could say any more I start quick walking to the doors, seeing if I could find her. I couldn't wait for tomorrow I needed to know now. As I walk out the double doors I see Erika curled up under the big oak tree in the field, I usually go to when I need quiet, with a journal and pen out.

"Hey I think we need to talk." I decide to start.

"Bloody hell!" She jumps, closing her journal quickly.

"Sorry may I join you?" I ask politely, beginning to sit down next to her.

"Actually I was just going." She says quietly, starting to get up from the tree gathering her stuff.

"Wait but Ete- I mean Erika." I start before she stops me.

"Really I have to go." And with that she walks away. I decide it is best not to follow her. I begin to question my sanity as I almost called her Etekah and it seemed to feel so right. I continue on back to my car and head on home.

"Honey you're home late." My mom says as I go up to her to give her a kiss on the cheek, a habit I got myself into to show appreciation to my mom.

"I stayed to talk with my friend, sorry mom."

"No worries, supper is on the table." I lived alone with my mom; my dad died in a terrible accident back when I was only seven. It wasn't his fault though, the driver that hit him was on the wrong side of the road and when the collision happened my dad was knocked unconscious almost instantly. He was in a coma for about three weeks after that before he passed away. My mom was a wreck and I knew my dad was something to me back then and now sometimes I grieve for my dad, but I guess we have to manage with what we got. Being the only child isn't all that bad but sometimes I feel a little lonely.

After supper, homemade lentil soup since my mom got into cooking after Dad died, I went up to my room to think more about what happened with Erika and me. It was just so weird and even though it did feel real I know it couldn't possibly be real. I wasn't going to believe it and maybe I would just leave Erika alone, she seemed she didn't want anything to do with me even though I have no clue why. I was going to go with my theory before; I was just hung-over.

"Bailey someone is on the phone for you, a girl named Erika." I jump up at the name all too excited that she was calling me, the only thing was how did she get my number?

"Coming mom!" I yell as I run down the stairs grabbing the phone all too quickly from my mom causing her to give me a little smirk and a wink. I give her a glare back. "Hello?"

"Um hey I just wanted to apologize for the way I was acting at school today, it definitely was not a good first impression. I would like to start over so hi I'm Erika."

"Don't worry about it, I don't blame you for avoiding me, I have a bad reputation." I say with a laugh, surprised to what Erika was saying.

"You're probably wondering how I got your number. Well I asked that girl Kylie,"

"Oh no not her." I cut her off.

"Yeah she was like 'I saw you and Bailey talking during homeroom, well stay away from him he's mine' like this was high school, well anyways this guy named Ron he said not to mind her because she was psycho and gave me your number."

"Oh well I think we should talk about what happened during passing period."

"I don't know what you mean." Erika says confusingly.

"Oh come on, I saw it in your eyes you saw what I saw." I was starting to get annoyed at this point.

"What exactly did you see?"

"Well it was when our hands touched, I saw someone who looked like you only her name was Etekah and I saw me only my name was Balies, that date was like 1675 and I wanted to escort you to a party at my house. I seemed to be really rich."

"I don't know what you are talking about. I have to go." Before I could say anymore she hangs up. I realized I wasn't going to get any of my answers from her.

Another day in this hell we call school. It is only Tuesday and I already wanted it to be Friday; a typical life of a teenage college student. The only reason I am here in college is because my mom wants me to get a good education but I still don't know what I want to major in so two years later I am still in general education, at least it is something.

"Hey buddy, so did the hot new girl call you." Ron casually says patting me on the back.

"Yeah why?"

"Oh she seems so into you and she's way better than Kylie. Yeah Kylie is hot but damn bro, Erika, she is on a whole other level, like an angel."

"That petty girl is far from an angel." Kylie says sitting down next to me popping her gum.

"Hey babe." She says as she forcefully places a kiss on my lips; I push her back.

"Kylie get off me, I am not your boyfriend." I yell standing up getting almost the whole classes attention, at least what was in it before the bell rang.

"Bailey come on." I walk to the far end of the class to be away from her. A couple minutes later I feel a presence settling down next to me, Erika.

"Hey Bailey, you look hyped up, is everything alright?" She asks sincerely.

"Just dandy." I reply in sarcasm.

"I was just trying to help."

"It's fine I'm fine."

"If it helps you can always talk-" Before she gets to finish she places a hand on me and I am absorbed into that darkness again.

We were outside my mansion, it was full of people, familiar faces and some not so familiar. I just got done picking up Etekah and she looked stunning in her floor length emerald dress. It brought out her eyes and she had curled her long auburn locks. I had her arm linked with mine as I walked into the house.

"Wow there are so many people." Etekah gasp.

"I know I didn't think this many would show."

"A handsome man like you with a reputation like this who wouldn't want to come. You're known as the god like man around town."

"Do you really think so?" I give her a smirk.

"Would you believe me if I say no?"

"No."

"I don't think I would believe myself either." She smiles at me.

I show her around the house and we stop in the living room where most of the guest were.

"I'm a little dizzy can we go outside." Etekah says with a sigh.

"Of course." I lead her to my back yard to the swing and we sit down looking up at the stars and moon that lit up the night sky.

"Some party." Etekah tries to start a conversation.

"I think I love you." I blurt out. Why did I just say that?

"Oh Balies, I think I might love you too." I lean down and kiss her, white starting to form around me as start to get dizzy. Everything then goes black.

I gasp as soon as my surroundings around me begin to be clearer. Like last time it felt so real and I thought I was dying for real. I don't know what was going on or what was happening to me, I think I am going crazy. Ever since yesterday, ever since I met Etekah, I've been having these visions. I look at Etekah to see the same kind of fright on her face.

"That's the look I saw the last time this happened." I stifle a laugh trying to ease the tension around us.

"What look?" She says making her fear disappear.

"The look you just had on your face."

She then looks me straight in the eyes her compelling blue eyes starting to make me forget what I was saying or thinking, "I didn't have a look, nor fear in my eyes, you saw nothing, I am fine." For a second I forget what I was thinking and what I was bothering Erika about, but then I remember again.

"I know you saw what I saw, and I know you're not fine." When I say that she seems to have a puzzle look on her face, I look at her a little confused as to why she was puzzled but then the bell rings. Erika gathers her things quickly and almost runs out of the class.

"Erika wait!"

She turns around and faces me, "I don't want to hear it Balies!" She then covers her mouth running out of the classroom. Did she just call me Balies? Was I hearing things? I couldn't have been because after I heard her say Balies she covered her mouth. She knows something and I was going to get it out of her.

"Hey Bailey what was that all about." Ron says catching up to me.

"I don't know Ron, I am so confused right now."

"Hey guys!" Dean, my second best bud comes to join us his curly dirty blonde hair sweating from physical education.

"What's up man?" Ron gives Dean a high five.

"So after school I was thinking we could get together with Kylie, Ashley, and Keith and go to Lamar Grill and hang out for a while." I consider the offer and decide yes on it since I needed to get my mind off things, things being Erika.

"Yeah I'm in." I reply after a second.

"So am I." Ron agrees.

"Alright see you there after school, oh and Bailey can I hitch a ride my car broke down this morning."

"No problem man." I give him the realest smile I can.

"Great see you after school then." He high fives me and heads in the opposite direction.

"Hey man let's ditch History." Ron suggests.

"Okay, hate that class anyway."

"Cool let's go to the park across the street, we can light it up I have the good stuff."

"Sounds good man"

We head to the Lamar City Park which was the only park in our small town. Since it was school hours no one was there except a few toddlers who weren't old enough for school yet accompanied by their parents. We head to the far afield from the park so we were able to smoke weed without being caught by anyone we would get into trouble with.
