Dhruv kept sitting there about a minute wondering that what was troubling her and then walked out of her cabin sighing in disappointment..
Coming at the ground floor his eyes scanned the whole lobby in the search of his Tinkerbell.. But alas!! He failed to get a last glimpse of her before leaving the place..
"You're a fairy, baby.. I really enjoyed and smiled a lot after years.. And all these happened because of you only..
May God bless you.. Be happy and keep smiling always.." he wished sitting inside the cab recalling those happy moments with Dhruvika..
But little did he know the little soul who made him happy an hour ago was then sobbing hysterically in pain and fear wrapped in her mother's warm embrace..
And even her mother was just watching her in pain helplessly, wiping her silent tears...
Next Day..
Whole night after twisting and turning on the bed and sculpting all possible reasons behind Hemal's misery, he was determined to ask her everything straight that day itself as he was unable to put his finger on a particular reason..
And moreover he was totally unaware of the incidents Hemal faced in those five years..
Dhruv glanced at the wall clock which showed nine in the morning..
An hour was still left in Hemal's arrival..
Dhruv sighed..
He closed his eyes leaning back on the back rest of the couch and started wondering how everything got changed because of a single phone call he received two days ago..
Flashback starts..
After sealing the deal with the delegates of Malaysia, Dhruv was doing some last minute preparations for his next meeting with undivided attention..
But a phone call broke his concentration..
He frowned looking at the mobile screen as it was showing an international phone number..
"Hello.." receiving the call he said confusedly..
"Hello..
Who's this..??" he asked getting no response from the other end..
"Hello.. Hello..
Are you there??
Can you hear me??
Hello.." he chipped again.. And again it was all silent..
He didn't say anything after that, but he didn't hang up the call either..
Time passed.. But none uttered a single word..
Then suddenly Dhruv spoke with a thumping heart and a dry throat..
"Hemal.."
But the person on the other end was still silent..
He waited patiently for her reply but it never came..
"Hemal, I know it's you..
Please talk to me.." Dhruv pleaded controlling his sobs..
"Please.." he chipped in a hoarse voice...
His lips were quivering and his eyes failed to encage the salty water..
"Dhruv.." he heard his name in her soft soothing voice and instantly squeezed his eyes shut to absorb the overwhelmedness..
About after another one minute of silence Dhruv mouthed..
"How.. How are you??"
"I'm fine, Dhruv..
And you..??" her voice was shaky as well..
"I'm good.. I'm also.. umm.. good.." he lied..
"I.. I need to.. tell you something.." she chipped hesitantly..
"Hmm.. Tell.." he muttered immediately..
"No.. Not.. like this..
Can we talk.. umm.. face to face..??" she asked tentatively..
"Sure..!!
Send me the address.. I'm coming now.." he wiped his tears..
"You can't come now, Dhruv..
I'm in Seattle.." she said in a small voice..
"Seattle.. Seattle??
Really?? You are in Seattle??" Dhruv wasn't expecting her to be this far from him..
"Hmm..
Let me know when you will land in Seattle..
I'll send you the address.." she chipped meekly..
"OK.." he was in daze..
"OK.." she chipped but didn't hang up the call..
"Umm.. Hemal, wait.." he chipped hurriedly..
"Hmm.." she hummed..
"You are really alright, right??" Dhruv could sense something wasn't right..
"Come soon, Dhruv.." Hemal just said that hurriedly and hang up before Dhruv could do more enquiry..
Once she disconnected the call Dhruv gave himself a moment to absorb all the happenings..
Later he asked Mahi to arrange the air ticket of the next flight to Seattle and clear all his schedule for a few days..
It wasn't an easy job for her to arrange the ticket and to get the Visa.. But being the PA of a influential person like Dhruv, she somehow managed everything..
Dhruv boarded the flight to Seattle the very night and it took him almost twenty-four hours to reach Seattle..
But to his luck the time difference between India and Seattle is 12:30hr..
Thus it felt like only half of a day was wasted in traveling..
And without wasting a single second he checked in his hotel and then rushed to the Seattle Publishing House hiring a cab that very afternoon..
And rest was history...
Flashback ends..
A soft knock on the door of Dhruv's hotel suite brought him back from his Memory Lane..
Dhruv hurried towards the door and opened it only to find Hemal standing there wrapped in a cream colour long coat all nervous and restless..
Dhruv sighed and welcomed her inside..
"Sit.." he offered her a seat after she removed her coat and hang it on the coat stand..
"Thanks.." she chipped faking a small smile and sat on the indicated place..
He too settled himself comfortably beside her on the two seater couch of the living area of his suite..
"Two things, Hemal..
One, please stop being so formal around me and two, just speak out what's bothering you..
You can share everything and anything with me.. I promise, I won't judge you.." Dhruv chipped straight showing no emotion..
Hemal's gaze was fixed on her hands which were on her lap and she was all quiet..
"Hemal, just looked at me and tell me what's the matter..
What you did five years back, you can't undo them now..
So there is no use of feeling guilty..
Your guilt and regret can't mend the damage.." Dhruv muttered kinda rudely irked by Hemal's quiet and nervous demeanor..
Hemal slowly upped her lashes and their eyes latched..
Her eyes were glossy..
And instantly guilt overpowered his senses..
"Shit.. I shouldn't have say all these.." he cursed himself mentally..
"Umm.. Hemal, I'm sorry.. I.. I shouldn't have.." he tried to apologize..
"No.. Don't be..
It's perfectly fine.. I know I deserve your hatred.." she smiled wiping the freshly oozed out lacrimal fluid..
"Hey.. That's not true..
I don't hate you.." he shifted close to her and grasped her hand..
"Well.. Then you should, Dhruv..
I broke my promise.. I left you alone.." she sobbed looking down..
Dhruv cupping her face softly and made her face him..
"That's fine, Hemal..
I can live with that broken promise until you are happy..
But I can see that you are everything but happy..
What's bothering you, Hemal??
Tell me.." he wiped her tears with utmost love..
"Dhruv.." she let out a sob..
"I thought you must be hating me.. And didn't want to see my face again..
I'm sorry, Dhruv..
I really am..
Trust me, Dhruv, I had reasons..
I never wanted to leave you.. But I had to.." she sobbed some more..
Dhruv immediately wrapped her in his arms and tried to soothe her..
"Shh..!! It's okay.. It's okay..!!
I trust you, Hemal..
I never hated you.. Neither I was angry on you..
I was.. just.. umm.. upset..
You could have shared your problems with me instead of disappearing like that..
But it's OK..
You can do it now..
I'm glad that you called me.." he chipped softly stroking her hair..
"I missed you, Dhruv.." Hemal hugged him tight..
"I missed you too.." Dhruv squeezed her in his arms for once and then broke the embrace..
"Don't cry.. I hate tears in your eyes.." he cupped her tear drenched face and wiped her cheeks lovingly..
While doing that his gaze fell on her lips..
"Your lips are dry.." he caressed her bottom lip softly..
"You're dehydrated..
Or..
Oh Shit..!! Don't tell me you are skipping your meals.." his eyes got widened..
"No.. Nothing.. is like that.." she chipped looking down..
"OK, Hemal, I'm not gonna buy your lies..
Actually even I haven't have my breakfast yet..
Have breakfast with me.. I'm ordering pizza.." he chipped and got up from the couch to place order..
"Dhruv, please, no..
I mean.. don't.. don't order pizza for me..
Bread omelet will be fine.." Hemal muttered..
Dhruv frowned hearing her..
"Bread omelet?? Are you sure.." he asked..
"Hmm.." she nodded..
"OK.." and he placed the order of bread omelet and fresh fruit juice for them..
He was totally confused that why Hemal said no to her favorite food..
But he gave his confusion a pass for that moment..
He fetched a glass of water from the nightstand and handed her..
"Here.." Hemal took the glass from him..
"Your problem won't be solved by fasting..
Dare you skip your meals from now on..
Our breakfast will be here in ten minutes..
Have it and then tell me everything clearly..
I promise, I'll make everything alright.." he caressed her head and she closed her eyes in satisfaction..
Soon the breakfast arrived and they started having it silently..
Hemal's concentration was only on food, where Dhruv was stealing glances of her time to time..
"Umm.. I need to use the washroom.." she chipped after finishing her breakfast..
"Sure.. That way.." Dhruv pointed at the washroom..
Hemal got up from the couch and was about to walk towards the washroom, when she tripped on the carpet and fell on Dhruv in such way that his lips got brushed on the corner of her lips..
Both felt the same spark due to their intimacy which they used to feel years back..
Hemal slowly distanced her face from his and upped her lashes only to find him gazing at her lips..
Hemal could easily notice the crave and need for her in Dhruv's eyes..
She wanted to pull away.. But she hadn't the heart to disappoint him..
And to be very honest, a part of her also wanted the same like Dhruv..
Hence, she closed her eyes and parted her lips a bit to welcome his lips..
And the very moment Dhruv tentatively placed his lips on hers causing the breath hitched in her throat..
Please don't forget to vote and comment..
Thank you..
Will come on next Monday..
Bye bye..
