Mafia! Sans X Singer Reader

You were a performer at a small club by the name of Grillby's, in a town divided by two mobs. The monsters, and the humans. The club was a monster bar but you were safe under the unspoken agreement created by both sides. No human or monster civilians were to be harmed. Both races liked this agreement but unfortunately, it was the only agreement they could reach.

You were a popular performer whose shows were early in the afternoon and, the much more popular, midnight show. You had a beautiful singing voice that could bring most men to their knees. Because of this, you had quite the fan base growing. it was reaching the point of insanity. You couldn't read through all of the fanmail or worse, get through the massive crowd that gathered after each performance.

Your best friend, a monster robot named Mettaton, was the singer who performed between your two shows. He helped you escape the horde of monsters that gathered in an attempt to meet you at the end of each night.

"Good luck darling," Mettaton called after you.

You smiled back and proceeded down the hallway towards the stage. While behind the curtain, you waited to hear Grillby introduce you. "And finally, may I introduce Mr/Mrs. (Y.N)!"

The crowd cheered as you walked on stage, "hello, hello everyone." you greeted, "so nice to see you all here tonight. I see some new faces too. So nice the meet you," your eyes scanned the room. It was true, there were some new faces, as well as many old, familiar faces.

"Tonight I will be singing, Seven Nation Army. I hope you enjoy."

You sang and the crowd fell silent. Your eyes, again, traced the faces in the bar. The door swung open and you saw a face that everyone knew, Sans the Skeleton. Although no one could prove it, or really wanted to, most knew the rumours that Sans was a skilled assassin for the kings royal mob. He and his brother protected the streets and monster businesses. Sans had a personal preference for Grillbys place and because of this, he was here a lot. You had never talked to him but you see him every night.

You finished your song and the audience went crazy. Many flowers were thrown on stage and the entire bar was drowned in applause. The mysterious skeleton turned to face the stage but he was still talking to Grillby. Both of them were looking at you and talking, talking about you. When they noticed you returning the stare, they both waved. You waved back and smiled.

You put them out of your mind and sang a few more songs for the impatient and excited crowd. Hours later, you were packing up to leave with Mettaton but he was still packing up his own supplies.

"If you want darling, you can wait at the door. I'll be out in a moment."

"Fine," you walked out into the hallway, walking the opposite the stage.

You turned a corner and saw the same skeleton that caught your eyes earlier, leaning against the wall beside Grillbys room. He looked up at you and nodded.

"Hey there, kid. I enjoyed your show."

You felt slightly uncomfortable while under his gaze. "Th-thanks," you studdered.

"Don't worry kiddo, I'm not a crazy fan. I'm here to see Grillbz. But it's nice runnin' into you kid. I like your shows. I miss 'em a lot, though. I'm usually here after your show or when Mettatons on stage. My bro really likes Mettaton and it's the only time I can get him to come here without a fight."

"I see. Well, I have to go."

"G'night." he tipped his fedora at you.

As you were walking away, you almost couldn't contain a smile. You liked something about that skeleton. Something about his attitude made you feel good about yourself.

Two days had passed since your encounter with Sans but he hadn't necessarily left your mind. You thought about him a lot in fact. As you walked towards the dressing room, you couldn't help but think that it was very odd and funny that you could be so attached to someone whom you had spoken to once.

You stopped dead in your tracks as you saw him and a taller skeleton, presumably his brother, talking to Mettaton. Mettaton and the tall skeleton seemed to be deep in the conversation while Sans only interjected with a few misplaced jokes that he got yelled at because of.

Soon enough, his glowing white eyes caught yours. "Hey kiddo," he called, "come meet my bro."

Mettaton and Sans's brother had ended their conversation and were both smiling pleasantly at you. "(Y.N), you never told me you knew Sansy, here."

"I mean..." you started, "I've spoken to him once or twice. Not really often." You walked up to the group. "And I've never met his brother."

His brother seemed overjoyed, "NO YOU HAVEN'T BUT I DON'T BLAME YOU HUMAN! I AM A SPY AND FAR TO STEALTHY TO BE SEEN BY ANY REGULAR HUMAN. HOWEVER; I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!"

Sans laughed, "some spy you are. Telling everyone."

"QUIET BROTHER. WELL HUMAN, I MUST GO. VERY IMPORTANT WORK. SANS DON'T YOU BE TO LONG! GOODBYE METTATON..."

"Goodbye, darling! Anyway (Y.N), I have to get ready. Keep Sans entertained while I'm away." He seemed to smile at you as he walked away. You were left with the strange skeleton whose image had been haunting your mind. He was smiling, as always, and fixing his navy blue tie.

"So kid, fancy seeing you so often now that we've talked. Funny how that happens, hm?" His voice was shaking a bit, a little odd for a skeleton with such a laid back nature. His eyes avoided you. You didn't understand. A few moments ago, he was fine, happy, engaged, now he seemed scared and distant.

You smiled in an effort to get him to perk up. When that didn't work, you thought of a better plan. "It is," you began, "but I'm enjoying it. I'd like to see you more often." His eyes seemed to brighten as you spoke. He looked up at you, his permanent smile seeming to get even bigger. You loved the sight of this so you pushed it even farther, "I have a little present for you. Be there for my second show."

With a wink and a quick kiss on the top of his forehead, you ran away, practically gliding down the hallway to one one the dressing rooms. You never saw his expression but you hoped it was as wonderful and glee-filled as you wanted.

The late show was finally moments away. You had spent the entire break writing something special for Sans. You were going to premier your writing talent and feeling for Sans all in one night. The clocks ticks kept you in line, only heightening your excitement. You dressed in your finest outfit and when the time came to perform, you rushed out the door.

When you took your place on stage, your eyes scanned the area for Sans. His brother and he sat together at a table. He had a bottle of ketchup in hand and his brother, a plate of spaghetti. You fixated on them as the lights dimmed and the piano began.

At the end of your performance you made your way backstage. Within seconds, Sans was running up to you, a bouquet of flowers in hand. No words were exchanged, you both embraced and the moment was warm and wonderful. You couldn't wait for even more.
