A Second Attempt

The skeleton-man panted heavily and sweated with a deep blush on his already dusty white cheekbones. His hands tightly gripped the very artistic bedsheets underneath him and his lady love. Beads of what seemed to be rainbow-esque fluid dripped down his arms, his neck and spine, just about everywhere that was visible.

"Oh my...hah..w-we should probably clean up."

The girl beneath him, who was also sweating and blushing deeply, nodded with heavy pants. She, too, was quite the mess. Her blonde hair was tangled and all over the place, hazel eyes staring into his own, and conveying love for him. Even if just a second ago they were locked in passion and ecstasy, she knew he wanted to get back to doing what he normally did.

They parted from each other, got clothed and fixed up, then he went over to her and hugged her from behind. His skull rested on her shoulder to look at the test she was taking, or had quickly attempted to take, while he was distracted. One of his eyes changed to a pink heart, the other staying a bright yellow star. She kissed his forehead the best she could with how he was positioned, smiling and giving a small giggle.

"Hun. You know it'll take a few weeks before it works, right? These things aren't always accurate anyways. The best thing is to wait."

The skeleton, now with a pouty face, puffed out his cheeks in a childish manner.

"Mmmh. But I wanna know now. It's not fair."

This just made her giggle more. It was pretty amusing to her, though for other reasons not pertaining to this. As predicted, the test didn't give an answer, which made the male grunt in an over-exaggerated way then hide his face in her shoulder. Seeing that, she felt a little bad, but was used to it by now since this happened last time.

"Hey.."

She turned to face him completely. Her hands gripped his face gently so he was forced to hold eye contact, and she smiled sweet and warm at him, in hopes it would ease him.

"I know you wish to have a child. I do, too. But human bodies are different from yours. We aren't able to rush these things. Trust me. Let's relax, take some time to enjoy ourselves, then try again, ok?"

He wasn't satisfied at all by this notion, infact getting even grumpier, now giving a slight scowl at her. This made her worried so she let go of him and avoided his gaze.

----

A couple of weeks later, the girl was left alone at his little home of emptiness, while he was gone doing things with his friends. It was boring, silent, frustrating. Yet her excuse of such wouldn't be much use. He had a job, an important one at that, that couldn't be avoided. He was important to each and every single universe to exist.

Suddenly, an urge to throw up caused her to stand and go to the restroom, so she could ease the feeling. When it was done, she was feeling weak and tired, not really knowing what it could have meant. To her it was like every other time she felt the need. Though it was odd, as she hadn't eaten anything that morning, nor ate a food that disagreed with her. Since moving in with her lover, she was taking precautions to stay healthy, since she couldn't leave. Perhaps a lack of Vitamin D? It had been a while, a long while, since she'd last seen the sun.

While contemplating whether or not she leave to fix that little issue, her mind went to the test she'd taken not too long back. Slowly, she put two and two together and realized it was possibly morning sickness. Though, she'd need to do it again just to make sure.

Meanwhile, Dream, Swap, and Ink were busy fighting off some stray genociders who had managed to escape their respective games and were hellbent on continuing it everywhere else. It was almost complete until the phone of one of them started to buzz with activity. So the one who had it answered and was quick to pull it away from his ear, as the one calling him was loud and frantic, as if something was found out far too late. Not many details were spoken, but he promised to be home soon, then continued with getting rid of the dangerous people. His job was likely more important than what his wife was trying to call him home for, but Dream convinced (or rather, forced) him, to go. Him and Swap were more than strong enough to get rid of the few that were still left. With that in mind, the creative one left, quickly making his way back home.

"Seneca! Are you ok? Did something happen? Is Error here?!"

Ink looked around, starting to slowly panic. Had something already happened? Was she gone? Was she hurt? He'd never forgive himself if something happened to her.

A soft knock on the bedroom door let him know where she was. He raced there, making sure not to trip like every other time, and threw open the door to try and find her. She tapped his shoulder, which made him go into fight-or-flight response, and try to hit her, which she just barely dodged.

"Woah there, champ. No need to get feisty."

Hearing her voice, he was no longer angry and panicked. Now he was just plain panicked. He looked to her and hugged Seneca tightly, holding back a few tears, and breathing heavily.

Confused, she hugged him back, but didn't bother to ask why. Perhaps she sounded too surprised and excited over the phone that he took it wrong. She should have cleared it up, but that was a discussion for a later time. Right now she needed to tell him the good news.

"Hey. Guess what?"

Her voice was soothing, like a mother's, as she tried to get his attention. He wiped his eyes quickly and pulled away, looking to her own, unable to really speak. His gaze spoke for him, however, in a language she clearly understood.

"I took the test again, like I said I would. And it came back positive."

". . . . ."

He gave no answer. Not a response even from his conflicted stare. All he did was hug her again, a little less tight. She returned it. Unable to really understand this, she became worried. This was not her place to pressure him, though. He would talk when he felt comfortable enough to.

"I love you, Ink. It'll be fine. We finally got our wish. Our own little bundle of joy. Who would have thought?"

(Second one! This was a little harder to construct. I went off the top of my head. Had no ideas for this. It's confusingly worded, I'm sure, but meh. It's nearly 11am. I'm tired. One more chapter, hopefully, tonight before I pass out.)
