Chapter 19: The Final Task Part II
A/N: hi guys, this is the final chapter :( I hope you enjoy it, and will be willing to read the sequel!
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
Harry simply stared, his mind in shambles as he tried to comprehend what exactly was happening. Credence? He'd lied about his name? Had professor Redmayne done that too? Who were they?
Harry was shocked out of his thoughts as he jumped out of the way, dodging a bolt of magic that was sent his way from Voldemort's wand. He stood up as fast as he could, ignoring the throbbing pain in his bleeding arm.
"Now, now Harry," Voldemort spoke. "I'm curious. How did you become like this?"
Harry glared, trying to act brave as his eyes flickering towards Lucius. "Some of your followers really aren't very loyal, are they?"
Voldemort frowned. "It would appear not."
Harry ducked as another bolt of green magic flew his way, dashing to one side as he tried to avoid all the jets of green flying at him.
He was fast, but the dark lord was faster.
One of the bolts hit him straight in the chest, and he fell to the ground, screaming and writhing in pain.
Credence could only stare in horror at what was unfolding before him. He could feel it, the darkness, clawing at his throat and urging for him to lose control.
The curse was lifted, and Harry lay on the ground, weak. He got up onto his hands and knees, catching Credence's gaze.
His brown eyes flickered towards the cup, to Harry, and towards the cup again. Harry gulped, preparing himself to make a dash for the object.
Harry watched in a mix of horror and hope as Credence's body began to warp itself. Pain was written all over his face as his eyes turned to pits of dark black, murky black liquid spewing from his mouth, sticking to his face and engulfing him. An explosion rang out, cloaking the graveyard in inky black darkness, the smoke obscuring Harry from everyone's vision.
Harry took this as his signal to run, darting as fast as he could towards Cedric. He grabbed the boy's body, agony beginning to tear at him as he looked of the Hufflepuff's cold, dead eyes. He leapt for the cup, the world spinning as he touched the handle.

Gasps rang through the crowd as a large bang echoed, now two figures lying in the centre of the space before the maze.
Draco's eyes widened as he realised one was Harry, without his disguise. Immediately Draco muttered the spell, thankfully returning Harry to normal without anyone noticing.
Harry's skin had burned a fair bit, but he was too distraught to care. The crowd was in silence, the only noise being Harry's hysterical sobs and wails, now joined by the thundering of footsteps as Professor Redmayne ran down from the stands to Harry's side.
The teachers began to yell as people stood up, including Draco who was now covering his open mouth with his hand, staring horrified. The teachers yelled for everyone to stay in their seats.
Harry's vision was blurred by tears. His whole body ached, his head pounded. He felt like he couldn't do anything but cry. He was vaguely aware that he was being dragged to his feet, his legs trembling as they protested against his own body weight.
He was being led back up to the castle by who appeared to be Mad-Eye Moody, the man muttering words of what Harry assumed were comfort. It wasn't a surprise that they didn't help him at all, the vampire wrapping his arms around himself to hide his bleeding arm, pain still shooting through the limb.
He was pushed into a chair, looking around at what he guessed was Mad-Eye's office. It was covered in random looking objects, the desks cluttered.
Mad-Eye sat opposite, his gaze chilling as his fake eye whizzed around spastically.
"What happened, Potter?"
Harry gulped, not trusting his voice. "The cup was a portkey," he mumbled. "C-Cedric was killed, by a man... And then Voldemort came back." It was then that the tears began to flood from Harry's eyes again, his sobs choked and weak.
"He returned?"
Harry could only nod shakily.
"What was the graveyard like, Potter?"
"It was-" Harry paused. "I-I don't think I mentioned anything about a graveyard, Professor."
The man opposite him stood up abruptly, not replying to Harry as he walked over to a box, searching through it in a panic.
He didn't find what he was supposedly looking for, now turning and striding towards Harry, his wand pointed at the defenceless vampire.
And out of nowhere, a blur with white hair came flying into the room, crashing into Mad-Eye and pinning him against the wall.
"You touch him, and I'll rip out your eyes and shove them down your throat!" Draco screeched, canine teeth forming in his mouth as his eyes glowed amber.
Harry stood up, leaning weakly against the wall behind him as teachers poured into the room, forcing Draco to unhand the man. Giving Mad-Eye a final, angry stare, Draco rushed towards Harry who cowered away from him.
"Harry, it's me," Draco murmured, Harry seeming to realise that it was Draco. He immediately flew into Draco's arms, sobbing hysterically into Draco's shoulder.
Draco watched while hugging Harry to his chest as the teachers all aimed their wands at the man, who had once been Mad-Eye Moody.
The man was laughing hysterically at Dumbledore, who was trying to interrogate the apparently insane man.
"He doesn't care that Potter got away!" The man shrieked through his laughter. "He's gotten what he wanted! I'm going to be worshipped!"
"What are you talking about?!" Dumbledore growled, even Draco wanting to flinch away at the wizard's anger. The man simply grinned.
"The obscurus! He has the obscurus now-" the man cried before breaking down into more laughter.
Newt was the one to speak. "What?!"
The man didn't reply, just laughed in the Magizooligist's horrified face. Newt's eyes were filled with panic as he ran from the room, down the hallways.
His heart was pounding, desperation keeping him running at high speeds. People ducked out of his way as he passed, the once usually calm professor now nearly in hysterics.
He threw open the office door. "Credence!"
He ran up the stairs at finding the living room empty, praying that the boy would be lying in bed asleep. He opened the door, and fell to his knees, letting out a scream.
He collapsed against the wall, sobbing. Credence was gone, the dark lord had him now.
How could it have all gone so horridly wrong?

Steam rose from the Hogwarts Express as Harry stepped off the train, wrapping his arms around Draco in a hug.
"I'll see you at some point through the holidays, right?" Draco asked, trying to hide his fear at being left alone.
Harry nodded, reaching into his pocket. "I know that your Gringotts Vault will be sealed off to you, but take this. I got it converted into muggle money, so you should be okay-" Harry pulled out a bag, filled with hundreds of hundred dollar notes.
Draco's eyes widened. "Harry, I can't take this, that's your winnings-"
"Half of it was Cedric's, and I don't need the money," Harry murmured. Draco simply pulled Harry into another hug. Harry laughed weakly. "Buy yourself a phone," Harry said, taking a pen from his pocket and grabbing Draco's hand, scrawling a series of numbers onto it. "And text this number."
Draco nodded, giving Harry a final grin before grabbing his trunk and walking through the barrier and out into King's Cross Station. He found his way out of the huge train station, and hailed a taxi.
"Where are you going, kid?"
Draco smiled at the man driving through the rear-view mirror.
"Take me to the closest hotel to Privet Drive."
