ONC has made me try different things over the three years in which I have been participating in it. This year is no different - I will finally delve fully into the murky waters of horror writing. So welcome to Underneath, my attempt at writing a cosmic horror story.

It plays with various other well-loved tropes of horror and I earnestly hope that I will be able to beguile my readers with the bizarre tale of Ríone Embers, our novelist protagonist who in a quest to get closure finds something far beyond her comprehension. This novella follows two prompts:
