A Solution

Jessica stayed with Adam and Anthony and even cooked them dinner. Adam was still in a funk and understandable. But he did feel better than he had in weeks. Anthony even felt and looked more relaxed. He thanked the heaven's for Jessica's appearance.

By the time Jessica pulled into her driveway, she felt extremely exhausted. She put her head on the steering wheel and just cried.

Danny had stayed up and waited for her. He heard her car turn off, so he opened the door and walked over to the car. He gently knocked on the window and Jessica jumped a little. She looked up and saw it was Danny.

She opened the door and grabbed the keys from the ignition. She grabbed her purse and got out of the car. She quickly wrapped her arms around Danny and just continued to cry.

He held her in his arms and kissed her forehead. He then picked her up bridal style and carried her inside. He sat down on the sofa and just held her. She held on as if he was her lifeline.

"How was Adam?" He asked after she had quieted down.
Jessica sniffled and replied, "When I got there, he was just lying there in bed, unmoving. He...he reminded me, of me. He reminded me of how I used to push you all away."

He held her tighter and listens to how she was feeling about everything that has gone on. He listened to her tell him about the conversation she had with Adam and how he seemed to feel better by the time she left. But of course time would tell.

They stayed there wrapped in each other's arms until they decided to go to bed.

*October 1*

A few weeks have passed for the Huston family. Adam has been doing better; he started seeing his therapist again and he has taken steps to move forward.

Adam had even visited Ava and apologized profusely to her. He spoke his feelings to her and even assured her that she wasn't to blame for the miscarriage.

After Adam's talk, Ava felt a weight lift from her shoulders and accepted his apology.

Just like Adam, Ava made up her to move forward and was even still seeing Ethan. Ethan was a huge help to her and she couldn't help but fall more in love with him.

Adam then asked Ava if she would still be their surrogate after some time. Ava apologized and told Adam that she decided to take a break from being a surrogate. She still couldn't even think of being pregnant again. She would go back into teaching and concentrate on her career.

Even though this broke Adam's heart, he didn't take it as hard as before. His therapist had been giving him some coping skills and he just told her he understood.

Jessica was happy that Adam had improved and she was even more happy now that he would come around the family again. Adam made a huge effort to not push anyone away.

Today was a Saturday evening and Jessica had just come from Stevie's house. They had been immersed in more wedding planning with Matthew and Isabelle. Things for the wedding were coming together smoothly with just a few bumps in the road. But mostly smooth.

Emma was spending the night at her sister's and Danny was doing his own thing somewhere in the house.

Jessica was sipping on a glass of wine and just watching tv. Although she wasn't really paying attention, her thoughts drifting to different subjects.

The show she had on the background was Inside Edition and the current story that was being told caught her attention.

"60 year old women gives birth to her own granddaughter." The news reporter said, "Here's the incredible story of what great lengths a mother would do for their children."

Jessica sits up straighter and puts her glass of wine down. She listens intently to the this story.

The daughter in this news story struggled for years with infertility and has had a few miscarriages. The daughter and her husband considered surrogacy but the cost of surrogacy prevented them from going forward. The daughter just wanted to give up.

Seeing her daughter's heartbreak, the mother had an idea and went searching for a solution. She had found many articles about surrogacy and came across an article of a mother being her daughter's surrogate. From there she saw that there were more stories just like this.

Even after being beyond her childbearing years, her doctor gave her the hope that it was possible for her to become pregnant. She gave birth to her granddaughter and her daughter was able to become a mother as she had always dreamed.

Jessica's mouth hung open in shock and wonder. Suddenly, a thought popped into her mind. She stood up and rushed to find Danny.

"Danny!" Jessica yelled out as she reached the top of the stairs. "Danny!"

Danny had just come out of the shower when he heard Jessica yell for him. He rushed out of the bathroom in his boxer shorts and his hair was still dripping wet. A towel in his hand to rub over his head.

"Jess?" He said as he saw her enter the bedroom. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Jessica replied with a smile. "I just wanted to let up know I am going to see Adam."

"Is everything okay?" Danny asked worriedly.
"Yes. Everything is fine." Jessica said as she put on her shoes. "Listen, I can't explain right now. But just know I think I know of a way to help Adam at becoming a father."

Danny was so confused but before he could say anything, Jessica was halfway out of the bedroom. Danny rushed after her.

"Hey!" Danny said as he caught up to her. He gently grabbed her arm and said, "Look, whatever it is I can tell is urgent. But please slow down. Don't drive too fast and please be careful."

Jessica realized she needed to take a breath. She breathed in then out. She hugged Danny and said, "I'm sorry. I just really need to speak to Adam. However I promise that I will take my time getting there."

Danny nodded and hugged her back.

"I'll see you later okay?" Jessica said as she pulled away. "I promise to tell you what's going on later. But I really have to go."
"Okay. Drive safe." Danny said, then giving her a kiss and letting her go.

Jessica grabbed her keys and was on her way. She drove at a normal pace after calming down.

As she drove, she hoped that Adam wouldn't look at her as if she was crazy. This idea she had was completely insane to the average person. But she felt it wasn't quite insane. She understood what these women did for their children. It made sense and she was willing to do it.

After a few minutes of driving she finally made it to Adam's.

She walked to the door and rang the doorbell. Adam opened the door and was shocked to see his mother on his doorstep as he was not expecting her.

"Mom, is everything okay?" He asked as he motioned for her to come inside.

Stepping through the door, she said, "Yes everything is great. Listen, I think I found a solution for you. I found you another surrogate!" She smiled wide.

Adam raised his eyebrows and Jessica grabbed his hand and guided him into the living room.
