Chapter 5

Sketch mumbled quietly in her sleep. Tsuki's sweet face ran through her mind. Sketch rushed towards her owner, but  let out a whimper as Tsuki suddenly disappeared from view. The shiny Mimikyu was left alone in the dark.

'Wake up!'

Sketch was suddenly slapped across the face. She bolted upright, panting heavily. She gave a sigh of relief.

It was only a dream.

'Hello? I'm right here, you know.'

Sketch looked up to see an Eevee. She lashed her tail.

'You should listen better,' the Eevee commented.

Sketch rolled her eyes. 'I'm not in the mood for some child bothering me. I have work to do, so unless you want to get hurt, I suggest you leave.'

The Eevee glared as she flexed her claws. 'Excuse me? You think you can beat me?'

'I don't think. I know,' Sketch replied, a smirk gracing her face.

'F-fine! Let's fight. We'll see who's better.'

Sketch distanced herself and beckoned the Eevee closer with a claw. The Eevee growled softly and flung herself at the Mimikyu. Sketch smiled as the Eevee's claws phased through her.

'Did you forget? I'm a ghost. Your Normal attacks won't work on me,' Sketch said smugly.

The Eevee growled. 'Same to your Ghost moves. Show me what you got!'

Sketch shrugged and lunged forwards, her stick tail enlarged. She hit the Eevee with her tail. The force of the Wood Hammer knocked the Evolution Pokemon back.

The Eevee growled as she stood up. She charged up and fired a Shadow Ball. Sketch, who had not been expecting such a move, wasn't able to dodge, but her disguise took the brunt of the hit. Sketch watched as her disguise's head dropped to the side.

'Thanks a lot. Now I have to fix that!' Sketch cried angrily. She advanced on the Eevee, giving her no time to react to the Play Rough.

The Eevee managed to bite down on the Mimikyu's tail. She shook the Ghost/Fairy-type hard before slamming her into the ground. Sketch let out a muffled shriek of rage.

'Are you done?' she managed to choke out.

The Eevee bared her teeth. 'If you're not going to attack me again. I don't know what your problem is, but you need to lighten up. Don't go attacking every Pokemon who might want to give you a helping hand.'

The Eevee sighed as she padded away.

'Wait.'

Sketch fiddled with her claws. 'I'm sorry.'

The Eevee turned, a smirk on her face. 'Sorry for?'

Sketch growled slightly. 'Sorry for attacking you. Happy?'

The Eevee nodded. 'The name's Xenia.'

'Sketch. May I ask why you're here?'

Xenia shrugged. 'I spotted you and got interested. I'm gonna help you.'

'What about Chara?'

'Chara can eat it. I'd much rather be out here helping you than learning with her.'

Sketch chuckled. 'Gotta admire your ambition. Alright fine. You can come.'

Xenia smiled. 'I'll lead. I know these grounds better than you.'

'What makes you say that?'

Xenia lifted a paw. 'You're standing in poison ivy.'

Sketch looked down. The Eevee was right. Sketch sighed to herself.

'Yay me.'

Xenia strutted past. 'You'll be fine. You ghosts are practically immune to the stuff. Come on. Let's go before Chara finds out.'

Chara snuffed the air. Something was up. Her fur was raised as she gazed at the empty den.

'Specter! Get over here!'

The Banette poked his head through the wall. 'Yes?'

'Where is Xenia?' Chara asked sharply.

'I believe she followed that Mimikyu.'

The Absol sighed. 'Great. Well, pack up. Let's find the, before they do something stupid or get themselves killed.'

'Xenia would welcome that with how hard you work her,' Specter muttered. Chara shot a death glare back at him, silencing the Banette as she disappeared into the forest.
