Chapter 2:
Excuse any errors !

A'merie was happy that everything with Toni had worked in her favor. She didn't want the bullshit drama between the two of them. A'merie wished that her and Toni never argued but she knew it couldn't really be like that, so in order to make sure everything flowed in their relationship, she just had to avoid stuff to piss her off.
Their relationship was a roller coaster at times but A'merie honestly couldn't see herself with anyone else. Merie lived in a fantasy world though, somewhat. She felt like she did everything that she was supposed to do as a good girlfriend but Toni seemed to complain about everything that she done regardless of the situation. It was crazy, crazy that A'merie knew that she knew she done everything right and still couldn't get a sign of appreciation on most days.
Most people would think A'merie worshipped the ground that Toni walked on, and that was true but Toni didn't see it. If anything, she always felt like the victim, and that always left Merie in a sticky situation.
Snapping A'merie out her thoughts her car door opened. Her head shot in that direction and she finally remembered that she was supposed to be picking Len up from school.
"Why you got that look on your face?" Her little sister asked her.
She shook her head like she was reassuring her. "Nothin', I was just caught up in my own thoughts."
Her sister climbed in the car without saying another word and finally A'merie and her sister were off.
Leona was deep inside of her phone especially since Merie wasn't talking. She knew her sister and she could tell that something was wrong but she wasn't going to push the issue. A'merie was still in her own world but she made sure to watch the road closely. Her and Toni weren't on the outs or anything but Toni was already upset over god knows what.
There's always something with her, Merie thought becoming stressed out all over again. She tried to praise Toni to the best of her ability, but there was always some sort of lacking on her end.
The two of them finally pulled up to their parents house. A'merie was just about to step out when her phone chimed with a message.
Toni💕🌍👑: We need to talk.
A'merie💞💋👑: About what?
Toni 💕🌍👑: Are you ever going to tell your parents about us?
A'merie sighed as she looked at the message Toni was always bringing the issue up of her telling my parents about their relationship, and she just wasn't ready to because she wasn't sure exactly how her parents would react to her being with Toni. She knew that her father would say that it's wrong for her to be with Toni, and she knew for sure that her mother would agree with him like she always did. So it's a lose lose situation; the only person who doesn't judge her for my relationship with Toni is her little sister, and she honestly appreciated it because she was the only one she had right now.
Toni 💕🌍👑: Um hello?
A'merie 💞💋👑: Just give me some time baby, please.
Toni 💕🌍 👑: Man whatever you always say that, and you never fuckin' tell them!!
A'merie 💞 💋👑: Baby, don't do this please. I already have a lot going on, and you with this? Your acting like I hide you from the public.
Toni 💕🌍👑: Your parents are the fuckin' public! Get at me when you get your priorities straight.
A'merie felt tears forming in her eyes she didn't want to face her mom and dad anymore, knowing that she was about to break down. She knew they would ask a million questions about why she was on the verge of tears; so she slid back into her car, and drove home. She was sure that her sister would be wondering what was happening but she had already put into the back of her mind that she'd text Leona once she got home.
More and more everyday things grew strenuous between them, but not once did Merie fell out of love. Sometimes people would say that fighting in a relationship was like turning your significant other off from you, but even through that nasty ass attitude, A'merie couldn't help but remember why she fell in love.
When she arrived at home she noticed someone sitting on her porch, A'merie turned her car off, and gathered her things before stepping out of her car, and locking the doors. She furrowed her eyebrows, still moving closer towards her porch. That's when she saw Rihyan, her best friend. She let out a sigh of relief because at first she thought it was Toni coming to argue some more, and she really didn't feel like arguing at the moment.
It was crazy enough how the script had flipped. Just this morning the two of them were good and now they were arguing again.
Her friends getting in her damn head again, Merie thought to herself.
She shook all the thoughts of Toni out of her mind. She wanted to unwind with a glass of wine. If Toni wanted to play hard ball then we can play hardball.
"Damn girl, you lucky you pulled up. I was sure about to go. I was gonna leave the wine though." She wiggled the bottle of USUAL Rose Pink wine in A'meries face.
She turned her face up in a wide, closed lip smile. This was what she needed, and Rihyan had her best interest at heart so she knew her friend would be a very good listening ear. She didn't want to burden her friend though, consider that she was two weeks from her due date.
A'merie continued to make her way to her front door, unlocking it.
"Well, damn. What's wrong with you?"
The two of them walked inside of the house. Merie couldn't help but feel a sigh of relief as the cool air touched her skin. She was hot as fuck in this summer, Atlanta weather.
"I was hot, what you mean what's wrong?" A'merie kicked her shoes off of her feet and let her hair down out of its ponytail.
Rihyan pursed her lips. "Stop lyin', something is obviously bothering you."
"Look, I'm just trying to get off my feet, out of these clothes and sipping on a glass of wine."
"You want a bottle of water? Or juice? I'm about to go ham on this wine." Merie revealed.
"A bottle of water will do, I wish I could get drunk but all because I wanted to be grown, look where I'm at." She gestured towards her stomach, cause the both of us to laugh.
"Well at least you're due in two weeks." A'merie tried to get her to see the bright side of things.
A'merie places the opened wine in the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water for Rihyan. She gave the water to Rihyan and took a seat with her glass firmly in her hands. She took a long sip, taking in the flavor. Yessss, I needed this, her mind screamed.
"How's Toni?" Rihyan asked as she took a sip from her water.
A'merie preferred not to answer that question but she didn't want Rihyan to think that the two of them broke up.
"She's good, you know the usual." She let out a flabbergasted sigh.
"You telling your parents?" She probed and A'merie nodded while continuing to sip on her wine. "I understand that it's a crucial thing that you tell your parents, but to constantly stay mad about it?"
Rihyan understood where she was coming from but if you didn't like something or a situation, change it.
"It's always some stupid shit with us."
"Just don't think about it, you're still young, your beautiful. Don't push yourself to make something work. It should flow naturally if it's really supposed to work."
She has a point, Merie thought. But would she dare tell any of this to Toni? No. Toni was different and was known to play the victim in certain situations so she just figured that what her and Rih discussed wouldn't go any further than this room.
"That's the thing, even though my parents doesn't know, I just feel like I'm fully committed but she doesn't see it." A'merie shrugged like she was defeated. "I won't beg her to see that it'll all be worth it in the end."
"She must not know how Mr. Devonte and Mrs. Evelyn gone react. I'm not saying that it's gonna be bad, but you know.. there's just a way you have to go about handling things."
A'merie nodded because she understood, but with Toni this would be a whole other conversation that she could see only going left.
"I won't sit here and think about it, I'm tired of worrying. If she's gonna leave, she's gonna leave. I won't beg her to stay. When I tell my parents is when I tell them." She shrugged like she didn't care, but she did.
"How's Troy?" A'merie threw in once the awkwardness had washed over. All of her friends knew about the constant bullshit that came with dating Toni, but no one dare told her to ever leave. Beyond all the bullshit, she really loved her.
"He's good, working. I got tomorrow left before they take me off the schedule until after this baby is born." She rubbed her stomach.
"Are the two of you nervous any?" Merie was all gums, she was excited that finally she was gonna be someone's godmom.
"Is Toni still salty about not being chosen along with you?" A'merie nodded. "She's gonna have to get over it though. I mean I've known you all my life, I don't really know her." Rih shrugged carelessly, she didn't really feel bad.
She wasn't keen on Toni so it wasn't like it was hurting her feelings to tell her no.
"Maybe the two of us will grow on each other. Only time will tell." Rihyan said honestly. "I'm not saying I dislike her but this is my first baby and I'll go to war with anybody over mines."
A'merie laughed a little and then rubbed Rihyan's belly. Every time she felt like she caught a break, something dragged her back under the surface.
