Oh boy....
Please note that these are my thoughts on the upcoming knights of Guinevere pilot that glitch is going to be releasing here on September 19th!
TW: Yandere sim and abuse allegations!
So I want to talk about something that's been bothering me ever since the Knights of Guinevere cast reveal dropped. Don't get me wrong—I was hyped for the show. The animation looks gorgeous, the story seems promising, and the cast lineup is stacked with talented voice actors like Eden Riegel, SungWon Cho, Kayleigh McKee, and Lauren Kong (who's a total badass btw 👑).
But then I saw Michaela Laws cast as Frankie... and that left a really bitter taste in my mouth.
⸻
Why This Is a Problem
Michaela is best known as the voice of Ayano Aishi (Yandere-chan) in Yandere Simulator. And that project? It's been surrounded by major controversy for years—abuse allegations, inappropriate behavior by the creator, and an extremely toxic community.
Even if Michaela has since distanced herself from Yandere Simulator, she was still the most recognizable voice tied to it. To many fans (including me), that association carries a lot of baggage. Casting her in a brand-new, highly anticipated show like Knights of Guinevere feels like ignoring the elephant in the room.
⸻
What Glitch Should Have Done
Glitch Productions is no stranger to controversy themselves, so you'd think they'd be extra cautious when putting together a cast for one of their most ambitious projects yet. Doing a thorough vetting process—checking recent controversies, gauging community perception, and asking "is this going to alienate potential viewers?"—should have been part of the casting process.
Because here's the reality:
• For some fans, seeing Michaela's name is an instant dealbreaker.
• It makes the show feel tainted before it's even premiered.
• It risks overshadowing the incredible work of the rest of the cast and crew.
⸻
Why This Matters
Animation fans are loyal. We rally behind creators, voice actors, and studios we believe in. But casting choices can make or break the trust between the audience and the production team. By overlooking Michaela's controversial past ties, Glitch may have unintentionally alienated part of their own audience—people who wanted to support the show but now feel conflicted.
⸻
Final Thoughts
I'm not saying Michaela doesn't deserve to work again—people move on from old projects. But when you're launching something as big and hyped as Knights of Guinevere, you've got to be aware of how certain casting decisions are going to be received.
Glitch could've avoided all of this by simply doing deeper research and choosing someone without such a controversial history attached to their name. And honestly? It sucks that one casting choice now leaves so many fans questioning whether they even want to watch the show.

✨ What do you guys think? Did this casting announcement leave you feeling weird too, or are you still going to give the show a chance? Let's talk about it.
