Today Ulaz had told you that is was his birthday. Thankfully your parents were at work so you quickly made a birthday cake for him and decorated it. You had also managed to get him a present that he would hopefully like, your dad was getting rid of one of his hunting knives and you had managed to get it without him knowing. You had just wrapped Ulaz's present and got the cake to the dining room table. You also put a candle in the center of the cake and went to get him. You knocked on his bedroom door and he opened it and saw you smiling.

"I have a surprise for you." You told Ulaz happily.

"Oh, what is it?" Ulaz asked you.

"Follow me and I'll show you." You replied.

Ulaz followed you to the dining room and saw you lighting a candle on a cake.

"What is all this?" Ulaz asked you.

"Well, since it's your birthday I thought I'd make you a cake and give you a present, it's an Earth tradition." You replied.

"Thank you." Ulaz said with a small smile.

"Why did you light the candle on the cake?" Ulaz asked curiously.

"You blow the candle out and wish for something, but you can't tell anyone what it is or it won't come true." You explained.

You then sang the birthday song and Ulaz blew the candle out.

You then cut the cake and put the slices on a couple of plates and you and Ulaz started eating.

"This tastes very good, thank you Y/n." Ulaz said as he ate.

"You're welcome." You replied.

After you both had cake you gave Ulaz his present and he unwrapped it.

"A hunting knife, thank you, Y/n, it's very nice." Ulaz said as he examined it closely.

"I'm glad you like it." You said with a smile.

"I haven't received any gifts for my birthday since I was a kit." Ulaz said.

"That's awful." You said.

"But I'm glad that those days in the Galra Empire are over and I'm with you." Ulaz said.

"I'm happy that you're here too." You said.

"Although there's one thing that would make today better." Ulaz said with a slight smirk.

"Oh, and what would that be?" You asked Ulaz.

Ulaz then bent down and deeply kissed you and you kissed him back.
