Cleaning his wounds
Ulaz wasn't used to being taken care of because he usually didn't get hurt or sick very often, not to mention he'd been living nearly in complete isolation for over an Earth year; he'd gone on a couple of supply runs, but he lived in the Thaldycon base for a good majority of the time and he wasn't used to interacting with people. He couldn't help but wonder what the paladins were doing, he knew they survived since he took care of the RoBeast, although he hoped Kolivan would agree to help them. Ulaz wondered exactly how much experience (Y/n) had with cleaning and dressing wounds, if she wasn't too experienced he could always gently guide her. When (Y/n) came back into the barn after she got what she needed from the kitchen and the first aid kit from the bathroom she climbed the ladder and saw Ulaz waiting for her.
"I brought everything I need and I also brought you some food and water." (Y/n) said when she cautiously approached Ulaz, carrying nearly everything in a bag so that she wouldn't accidentally drop anything.
"Thank you." Ulaz replied, grateful for the effort she was making simply to help him when she didn't even personally know him.
(Y/n) placed everything down and got everything she needed to clean and dress his wounds; first she gently wiped the blood off of his head and where his left eye used to be with a damp washcloth, then she followed his instructions on how to disinfectant everything since she wasn't entirely sure how to go about doing it before she applied an eye bandage to his left eye so it would heal to the best of its ability. Next, (Y/n) cleaned away the blood on the left side of the top of his head above his missing eye and put Neosporin on the cut prior to putting a large bandage over it. She could tell that Ulaz was in pain, but he chose to not show it too much since he wasn't used to being vulnerable. A long time ago Ulaz had been exposed to quintessence in what was considered safe amounts, so he wasn't too worried about his left eye getting infected since the quintessence would be able to heal it easier. He knew that (Y/n) was being as gentle as she could with him and he appreciated it, although he definitely still felt a certain degree of pain.
"There, your injuries should heal as soon as they can, so try not to mess with the bandages." (Y/n) said with uncertainty, feeling kind of silly to be giving such advice to a doctor.
"Thank you, (Y/n). I appreciate your help." Ulaz humbly thanked her, glancing at the fabric grocery bag next to her with curiosity.
(Y/n) beamed at Ulaz before she closed the first aid kit and gave him the bottle of water and the lunch meat she brought him; it was all she had time to grab, but she would give him something better later. When Ulaz took the water and meat from her he didn't care how odd it looked to him, food was food and it honestly smelled really good to him. After a while (Y/n) received a text from her mom who asked what she had been doing in the barn for so long. (Y/n) didn't want to leave Ulaz since she wanted to actually get to know him, unfortunately she had to leave because her parents couldn't find out about her new secret. Ulaz, on the other hand, didn't have a preference whether she should stay or not seeing as he'd just met her.
"I have to go, but I promise to come back soon to check on you and bring you more food and water." (Y/n) told him after putting her phone back in her pocket, she felt guilty for having to leave so soon.
"I will wait for you, then." Ulaz responded after taking a sip of the bottled water, turning his full attention towards her when he spoke.
(Y/n) grabbed the bag and gave him one last apologetic glance before she walked over to the square hole in the hayloft floor so she could climb down the ladder and go back into the house to see what her mom needed while Ulaz decided to rest some more. Ulaz wasn't entirely sure if he could fully trust (Y/n) even though she didn't smell anxious like people did when they were lying, he would wait to see what she would do. The lunch meat tasted a lot better than it looked; a bit salty, but still tasty enough to eat. Without a healing pod his injuries would take a few weeks to heal, thankfully the quintessence would prevent anything from actually getting infected since (Y/n) had been kind enough to clean and dress his wounds. Ulaz had a few questions floating around in his mind and he'd been curious about Earth ever since he met Shiro, he figured that the Earth he found himself stranded on wouldn't be much different than the one in his reality.
