CHAPTER 16
Killian, James, Quavo and Vandel sat in the living room staring at each other.
"We've taken care of the guy, but he never mentioned who sent him even after our interrogation" James informed and Vandel sighed.
"I wonder who would be watching her, I can't believe she isn't safe anymore I've done my best to hide her away from this" Vandel groaned pulling at his hair.
"She'll be fine man, I'll ask some of my men to keep watch over her from now on" Quavo suggested.
"I don't want her to be constantly watched, I want her to be free from all this, I appreciate the offer Quavo" he sighed.
"At least for a few weeks" Quavo reasoned.
"Okay until this blows off, you can have some men watch her" Vandel agreed and Quavo smiled a little.
"Hayley is like a daughter to all of us, I'll find out more on who wants her watched, we have to get rid of them" James said and they all nodded in agreement.
There was a knock on the door and Vandel frowned.
Hayley had informed him she was staying over at Joan's and he wasn't expecting any visitors.
"Who is it?" He asked.
"We have a delivery package for Miss Hayley Anderson" the person outside replied.
"A delivery this late?" Killian asked.
"You two go out the back" James said to Killian and Quavo while he and Vandel carefully approached the door with a gun in each of their hands.
Vandel stood on one side of the door while James stood on the other and immediately they opened the door it rained bullets, but there was no one there.
The man covered in black looked confused until he heard the click of a gun on his head from behind.
"Drop the gun, hands in the air" Killian said and the man immediately obeyed.
James punched him across the jaw and he spat blood before they pulled him inside the house.
The man looked up at the four men who looked at him they wanted to skin him alive.
"Who sent you?" Quavo started.
"Which one of you is Vandel?" The man asked.
"Who's asking?" Killian replied and the man growled jumping on Vandel, he stabbed a knife into his upper thigh as Vandel had escaped it entering his stomach.
James immediately pulled the man off punching his face until disfigured and the man screamed and coughed blood.
Vandel groaned staring at the knife in his thigh.
"Bastard!" Quavo shouted stepping hard on his stomach causing the man to cough more blood.
"We need to get rid of this mess" Killain said and James nodded pulling the man, they covered his face throwing him into their car trunk before locking it.
"You alright?" Killian asked and Vandel nodded.
"Stay still" James said breaking off the handle of the knife and Vandel clenched his jaw hard.
The wound was deep, more than half of the knife had disappeared into his thigh.
"Get the first aid" James said and Quavo rushed to get it.
James applied pressure around the wound causing Vandel to groan.
Quavo soon returned with the kit, and James took it from him taking a bottle of gauze began applying it over the wound. Taking a bandage, he carefully wrapped it around the wound.
"Let's take you to a hospital" Killian suggested.
"No it's alright I'm fine" Vandel replied.
"You're going to a hospital" James said as a matter of factly.
Vandel having no choice was made to enter Quavo's car while James and Killian drove off to deal with the guy and Quavo took him to the hospital.
....
"It seems he had back up" one of Eddie's men said.
"What?! How'd he know we were coming?" Eddie asked.
"I don't know man" the guy replied.
"Looks like Theo's friend isn't so innocent" Eddie scoffed.
"Why didn't you gang up against them, I sent ten of you" Eddie complained.
"Well the thing is..." the guy was saying but was caught off as one of Killian's men took the phone from his hand.
"They have been surrendered" he said into the phone.
"Who are you?" Eddie asked.
"We never leave our boss in case of an ambush" the guy said into the phone.
"So you're boss is a bitch? can't fend for himself?" Eddie chuckled.
"I know where you are Eddie, you might want to hide, our boss loves playing catch" the guy said before hanging up.
Eddie stared at the phone before slamming it against the wall.
The old man hated a sloppy job.
He had underestimated his target and to think he felt ten men were too much to kill one innocent person.
He shook his head.
How was he going to tell Theo, more importantly, the boss may have his head.
Running wasn't an option.
He would just own up to his mistake and maybe the boss would understand.
At least he would provide information that the man they were targeting wasn't ordinary.
He took out another phone calling Theo but there was no response.
He would never dare to report to the old man directly.
He slammed the phone onto the desk grabbing his hair before sighing and leaning back into his chair
