Chapter 14

This chapter starting with a Techno POV has nothing to do with the poll, just a coincidence :)

Forty-eight hours.

Forty-eight long, grueling hours were coming to an end and Technoblade couldn't feel any more conflicted. With only half an hour left stuck in the fortress, he was happy to finally be able to look for his daughter himself.

However, he also felt defeated. It was childish of him to hope for Tyche's reappearance while he was stuck for the past two days. He'd been waiting for weeks just imagining her high-pitched laugh and crooked smile. To think that two days could change anything was stupid. It didn't matter if he sent a hundred guards to search for her, he needed to do it himself.

Another fifteen minutes.

Technoblade was already dressed in his netherite armor, a sword crafted from the same powerful material resting at his hip. All of his equipment had a purple reflection to it, showing off the enchantments put on them. At this point, those didn't matter. Technoblade was certain he could defeat a thousand soldiers with only his pickaxe.

Five minutes.

The pigman hybrid rechecked his bag, mentally counting for every item he had. Enchanted golden apples, turtle master potions, strength potions, invisibility potions—heck, he even had the materials to summon withers if he had to! All he had to do now was wait for the swiftness potions to brew.

"Techno."

Technoblade's blood boiled. "What now, Dream? It's been 48 hours, are you really going to try and convince me to wait again?"

Dream crossed his arms, shaking his head disappointingly at his friend. "I have some news from the guards."

"If it's not important then I don't want to hear it," Technoblade seethed, gathering the completed swiftness potions from the brewing stand.

"Tyche is back."

Crash!

"Why didn't you say that first?!"

Technoblade quickly made his way to the ender chest in the back corner of the room, sped up by the swiftness potion he accidentally dropped. Normally he would be embarrassed by the simple mistake but at this point, he didn't care. As the pigman hybrid started returning valuable items in his chest, he spoke to his green friend.

"Is she okay?"

"Yes, but she's been taken to get checked out in medical just to be sure."

The answer made the tenseness in Technoblade's body start to diminish, hands becoming less frantic as he threw off his armor.

"Tyche wants to speak to you but, uh, there's another thing that you should know about."

Technoblade raised his head from the glowing chest, eyes boring into Dream's smiling mask.

"She was found with a human in the Nether."

KILL

KILL

KILL

Technoblade groaned, hands squeezing his head tightly. The voices filled his head, screaming so loud he thought his head would burst. It took immense power for Technoblade to calm them down enough to speak again.

"I told the guards no mercy."

Dream inched closer to the door, eyes not leaving his friend for a millisecond. Sure, Dream was very skilled in combat but he wasn't stupid. Technoblade was clearly out of it and if he snapped, Dream would not want to be in his path.

"Apparently Tyche is very protective of them," Dream elaborated, watching as Technoblade's demeanor softened slightly. "She was very adamant about getting them help."

Technoblade's mind reeled at the thought of Tyche being protective over someone that she could have only met at most a couple of weeks ago. Although she was a little girl, Tyche was not very trusting with people. It took a couple of months for her to even acknowledge Dream, let alone speak to him. So, to have someone show up that Tyche is protective over is a whole new experience.

But that wasn't something to dwell on now. Technoblade trusted Tyche's judgment... for the time being. The only thing that matters right now is Tyche's wellbeing and the only way that Technoblade would be confident that she was okay is if he saw her himself.

*cue my 2 am writing skills*

After arriving at the fortress with Tyche, the both of you were led straight to the medical wing. At least, that's what you were told by the doctor. Your memory of it was a bit blurry since your senses were all jumbled at the time.

For the past three days, you've been stationed in a private medical room. It was surprisingly nice but what you would expect of a medical room. Well, all except for the walls which were built with a dark red brick that you learned was called 'nether brick'. Such a fitting name.

Your doctor was extremely nice and looked nothing like you thought someone in the nether would look like. It seemed like he was a completely different creature, one you haven't even read about before. He was easily over 9 feet tall, having to bend down to walk through the doorway despite it already being freakishly tall. His clothing didn't represent the normal doctor either, wearing a black and red robe with a hood that shadowed his face. His pants matched his robe and his shoes were a dark gray.

Your first thought when you had to crane your head to look at him was that he was an enderman. It made sense for the most part. Old adventurers talked about the End and the creatures that roamed it, claiming that there were abnormally tall, lanky creatures that could teleport in the End. They were dark, so dark that it could have been argued that they were transparent to the dark void if it wasn't for their glowing purple eyes.

But the doctor's eyes weren't purple. They glowed a bright white, threatening to blind you if you looked straight into them. It was really hard to even look near his face when you first arrived, sensitive to any bright light around you.

Still, even if you didn't truly know what he was, the doctor was extremely caring, always asking if you needed anything or if you had any specific requests. He went above and beyond in caring for you, offering extra pillows or blankets (you definitely didn't need any more blankets, it was hot enough as it was). He also let Tyche visit you whenever she wanted to.

Tyche was very adamant about staying with you every second of the day that she could. She would visit you after breakfast, stay until lunch, then come back after dinner, complaining that her 'meanie dad' held her back. It was endearing to know that Tyche cared about you so much to see you every moment of the day she could but you also know that she has a family—a family that hasn't been able to see her for several weeks.

So, after two days of Tyche basically sticking to you like glue, you asked her to take the next day off to spend with her family. She pouted at the request but reluctantly accepted when you tried to explain to her how important family was. Tyche rolled her eyes at your claim and started ranting about how if she got in trouble with her uncle Tommy the next day then it'd be your fault.

The seriousness on her face made you laugh, which, in turn, also made your head spin just enough to make you feel slightly sick. Your concussion was getting better but you probably wouldn't be back to normal for another week. Luckily, the doctor was optimistic about your progress, claiming that you should be able to get up from your bed rest tomorrow. He warned you to be careful about pushing yourself, though, and specified that you should do anything close to strenuous for another week.

You were fine with that, completely fine, in fact. After days of traveling and running for your life, you were glad to finally get a break. Although, your promotion from bed rest also made you feel uneasy. You had no clue where you were going, whether you were sticking to your medical room or being forced to go somewhere else. Heck, they might even kick you out of the Nether. You didn't exactly belong here in the first place.

There wasn't really much time for you to think about it, however, because right after you finished your lunch, a loud knock echoed from the door to your room. You were relieved, thinking that maybe the doctor would know whether you were staying or if you were going to be forced to leave.

"Come in," You called out, readjusting the blanket on your lap before looking at the door. As soon as your eyes fell on the person who came through the door, your content smile faltered. This wasn't the doctor or Tyche, it was someone completely new to you and he looked terrifying. The man stood tall, at least a foot taller than you, and had broad shoulders that were layered with a red royal robe that was hooked in the front with a gold chain. The robe was so large that it almost hid his plain white dress shirt and gray pants. A red sash was tied around his middle, showing off the slenderness of his form, though, he was still larger than the normal human. He wore long black books that were cut in the shape of hooves and had a slight heel.

However, his outfit wasn't the part that stood out the most. The man's most defining feature besides his large build was his face. The man had a straight nose that turned up at the end and large ears that poke out of his long, bubblegum pink hair. His eyes glowed a deep red almost as if it was screaming 'danger come no closer!'. His lips were pulled into a tight, thin line but as he opened his mouth to speak, his canines were clearly much longer and sharper than normal.

The last thing you noticed was the large skull perched on top of his own. It was long, protruding out from his face by several inches. The dark, empty holes of the skull were unnerving but not as much as the long, curved tusks that protruded from the front.

When the door snapped shut, you inched to the other side of your bed, eyes observing the man's every movement. Although the man was tall and bulky, his shoulders seemed to deflate once he closed the door but his eyes remained as piercing as they were mere seconds before.

The man cleared his throat after a second of silence, making you flinch slightly. He must have noticed it because he waited a second before trying to speak.

"I would like to speak with you, (Y/n)."
