Downtown Apartments
YOUR POV
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I jogged up to the apartment building. This was the correct place, right? I stared at the directions my bestie-like sister had texted me on her phone, and then back at the building number and street name.
"This should be it, hopefully. . ." I mumble, dragging my large, white suitcase with two thick, black stripes with me. It had a couple outfits packed, some thick books like Truthwitch [1], Inheritance [2], and Fyre [3]. A few necessities (toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.), my phone charger, and so on.
My friend who had invited me here was named Tessa. She used to lived in the city over, but got an apartment for a reasonable price here in the neighboring city. The place wasn't so bad, it wasn't very busy, thank goddess, because I'm not very good with people. I'm, as she once said, an anti-social turtle.
Turtles aren't so bad, but if we deep into its metaphorical meaning, you can see what she was going for. Oops, I'm rambling again, aren't I?
I pushed open the double doors, trying to attract as little attention as possible. Walking up to the desk, I found the man who ran the place come down the stairs.
"E-e-excuse m-me sir?" I ask nervously. Why was I nervous? As I told you, antisocial turtle. He was mumbling a couple incoherent words under his breath before he noticed me.
"Oh! Hello, I'm the owner of this place. My name is Uni." He introduces himself. I nod shyly.
"H-h-hi! I-I'm Y-Y/N. My f-friend Tessa r-rented an apartment h-here." I tell him. He chuckles at my stuttering, pushing a few strands of his blue hair out of his face.
"Of course! Your place is on the top floor, the door directly to your right." He says. I smile, quietly thanking him.
"Oh, and I almost forgot," Uni informs me, my gaze landing back onto him, "Your right next to these to loud, trouble-making boys that never pay their rent."
"D-don't worry, I-I'll be c-careful of th-them." I reply, nodding understandingly. Resuming my walk to the stairs, I went until I reached the top floor, following Uni's directions.
I closed the apartment doors behind me, choosing a room that would serve me best, and began to unpack. Toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom, clothes in the slide-door closet, sheets on the bed, and books on the shelves.
Almost an hour later, Tessa came bursting through the doors.
"HONEY, I'M HOME!" She shouts, causing me to jump three feet in the air.
"Tess!" I squeak.
"Don't do t-that!" She just laughs, her usual, creepy-crazy, and somehow really intimidating, maniacal laugh.
"Come on Y/N, you're scared so easily." She says. Her voice was now it's usual sweet, seductive-ish tone. Tess always had boys around her finger, though she never had very many crushes, only about a couple hundred ex-boyfriends.
"Just start unpacking, okay?" I grumble. Tessa nods, walking towards the other bedroom, but then stopped herself.
"You know, Uni didn't seem half bad." She teases.
"Stop trying to hook me up, no guy is ever, or will ever, be into me." I state, attempting to end the conversation. Tess shrugs, not buying my comment.
"Only time will tell." She replies, walking away.
Remember earlier when I told you that—I'll just call her T, her 'favorite' nickname—had a bunch of ex-boyfriends? She got with one, decided they weren't right, and immediately moved onto a different one.
A theory stuck inside my brain was that T used ninety-nine percent of them for personal gain, or to help friends. But If you've known her for as long as I have, then you'll know (that's just a theory, A FILM THE—No) that it's not a theory anymore. But she hasn't dated anyone in over four years (T is twenty-two), so it hasn't happened in a while.
The boys who lived next door, must've been out and about, because I didn't hear anything from outside, or their apartment, besides the occasional padding of footsteps to other rooms.
After everything was unpacked and neatly put away *cough* Tessa *cough*. Soon enough, the moving truck came and aided us in carrying the furniture to our new home. Couch, vanity (T), table, etc. The usual.
After that, I—much to my displeasure—took the liberty of shopping alone at the supermarket to fill up our fridge. I also bought us house decorations, silverware, bowls, kitchen stuff. Anything we'll actually need. Once all of that was put away, it was already late evening. Hm! Today wasn't all that bad.
