I know I haven't updated in forever! I finished my other twilight fic and updated my Peaky Blinders fic as well. I apologize for any errors in this chapter, I was just anxious to get it out!

Katherine was silent on the car ride to the police station. Edward was dropping them off to have dinner with their father. It was a warmer day, the sun teased the sky every so often before hiding back away into the clouds. Katherine ran her hand through her cropped hair, it felt so much better after she cut it.
Pulling into the station, Katherine didn't hesitate to get out ignoring Bella's protests to wait. She noticed he father speaking with an older man and woman upon entering. She walked through the station to give them privacy seeing as the woman was weeping. She waltz over, plopping down at her dads desk. She turned the music up on her MP3 player now listening to Blink-182!
She took out her notebook and started doodling on the pages, it was the end of the school year, she wouldn't need it anymore. A tap on her shoulder made her lurch forward before a hand pulled her back. She stared up panicked at her dad who gave her a concerned look. He held his hands up.
"Only me." He said as she took out her earbuds.
"Sorry." She mumbled.
"That's alright. You ready? Bella's waiting by the car." Katherine gathered her things back into her backpack including her MP3. With he back slung over her shoulder she followed her dad out while asking about the couple who he was talking to.
"Riley Bier's parents, boys been missing for over a year and his poor parents have been looking for him ever since." Katherine frowned before glancing up at her father.
"If he's not back now is there ever a chance for him returning?" Charlie's face looked grim as he held the door open for her.
"It's slim but possible. If it were me I'd never give up looking for you or your sister." Her heart skipped a beat hearing that. That statement alone almost made her cry. She's been more emotional lately and have been doing her best to keep it together, but she was falling at the cracks. What made matters worse was she knew that Edward knew. This was one of the main reasons she was reluctant on driving to school with him.
Bella hasn't mentioned anything to her but she kept catching Edward looking back at her in the rear view. It creeped her out and she didn't like her privacy invaded. That was probably one of the reasons Rosalie was there that night. A part of her felt bad but she was holding her ground. Just because she was back doesn't mean she's gonna fall head over heels for her again. She's learned her lesson.
The ride to the diner was quiet as Charlie tried having a conversation with Bella but was falling short as she was still "grounded." And Bella was in a mood from being separated from Edward and leaving him alone for the weekend. Katherine was confused by this until Charlie confirmed driving them both to the airport that Friday to visit their mom over the weekend.
Katherine did not plan on visiting her mother that weekend and completely forgot about the tickets she got for her birthday. According to Edward they were expiring soon and will be their only chance to see their mom before graduation. Katherine rolled her eyes at the mention of him.
"I don't really want to go." She stated. Bella shrugged.
"Fine. Then Edward can come." Charlie's head shot towards her sister.
"No. And Katherine you haven't seen your mom in over a year. You're going." Katherine groaned hitting her head back against the head rest like an angsty teen. Bella sulked in the passengers seat. Maybe she shouldn't of suggested that right away. Bella's been consumed with Edward she hasn't stopped to see how Katherine was doing. They haven't had a one on one conversation since the Cullens returned and a part of her missed that sisterly bond they built in the absence of the Cullens.
Katherine started to feeling the withdraw from nicotine, she began to feel agitated. Yes she was old enough but Charlie didn't know. Unbeknownst to her he did know but didn't say anything, he was waiting for her to tell him.
They soon arrived at the diner. She felt weird being waited on at her job. It was the usual crowd as they were seated. The three of them were quiet as they looked at their menus. By now Katherine didn't have the stomach to eat anything. Her fingers tapped against the table top, her elbow brushing against the wall as she sat besides her father with Bella across from them.
She looked up over to the bar area and froze in place. Her whole body involuntarily flinched back, startling her sister and father who both looked at her with concern. In a blink of an eye he was gone. Katherine didn't know if what she saw was real or if it was a hallucination.
"Kat?" She fluttered her eyes, taking a deep breath as she felt her whole body go woozy.
"Sorry! I, um. I thought I felt a spider crawling up my leg." She blushed as she felt her heart thumping against her ribcage. "Dad can you let me out? Thanks." She rushed to the bathroom to splash cold water one her face. Fortunately she was alone. First the nightmares now she was seeing things. She stared at her self in the mirror and didn't recognize the person staring back. Only now did she realize the unevenness of her hair and the hollowness of her cheeks. She reminded herself of her sister after the Cullens first left, that first month after they were gone. Brushing it off she splashed more water on her face to sooth her nerves.
It wasnt real. That wasn't real.

After dinner and they arrived home, Katherine locked herself in her room. she felt like her head was spinning. Falling onto her bed she shut her eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep, but for once it was a restful one.
