48.

Luke, Leia, and their droids landed on Tatooine. The dust flying up and almost consuming their ship. Luke brought the group to Anakin's old hideaway. Lifting up their tunics and cloaks to block out the heat and sand, they broke their way inside. It had been vacated for years, but seemingly untouched despite the piles of sand that penetrated the premise.

Luke pushed the door close as the sandstorm forced it open. Leia grazed her fingers over Anakin's knick-knacks and other tinkering tools.

"You lived here? Your whole life?" Leia questioned, she hadn't been to Tatooine during a sandstorm. Due to Luke's nonchalant attitude about it she could tell it was normal.

"Yeah. Well, not here-here. I lived with my Aunt and Uncle a few miles from here." Luke explained, "This is where my Father lived."

"Anakin lived here?" Leia turned around, sparking her interest further. It plagued her thoughts that her brother had such a drastic difference of life quality than she.

"Yup." He said, closing up the windows and the cracks in the doors.

"For how long?" She asked.

"As long as I have, I guess. If I'm honest he never really told me as much about my past as I would've liked." Luke said, struggling to shut out the wind with cloths and whatever he could find.

"I'm sure he has his reasons." Leia brushed off, knowing full well she held a giant secret from Luke, "In all fairness, he didn't have much choice in the matter."

"It's funny. I never thought you really liked him all that much." Luke laughed to himself, obviously he was wrong.

"I never disliked him." Leia protested, "I don't really like anyone."

"Except for Han?" Luke said, with an unpleasant tone of a fourth grader who just lost his shoe, he knew full well her feelings for him. He detested them, Luke was a sore loser.

"And you, and Chewie." Leia crossed her arms.

"It's just a little interesting that after everything now you have an interest in my Father's well being." Luke got up from plugging up the floor, "And you suddenly agreed with Caleb's view of Darth Majka."

"What are you trying to say?" Leia stood up a little straighter.

"That you don't have to pretend you care about me, alright? Han isn't around to be jealous. And I don't know if you noticed but it wasn't really working." Luke said, crinkling his nose.

"I'm not pretending." Leia touched her nose and closed her eyes, sighing in grief of her stupidity. "I'm sorry I did that. It wasn't fair of me. You're confused, aren't you? I know it seems that we have a connection-"

"But you don't think of me like that." Luke interrupted, "It's fine, I'm a big boy. You don't have to let me down easy."

"I don't know if there's an easy way to say any of this." Leia couldn't help laughing, if only he knew, "Luke while you went off and the rest of us were stuck in that astroid avoiding the Empire. Anakin filled in a lot of gaps that I didn't even know was a gap in my life. And it was hard for me to face."

"Like what?" Luke asked, crossing his arms in opposition.

"Like where I came from. Who my parents are. My entire life nothing felt right and then as soon as it started to, it all falls apart." Leia said, avoiding the specifics.

"That's great. I'm glad he could do that for you." Luke sunk onto the couch and put his head in his hands, rubbing his face of the slimy feeling of jealousy.

Why did Anakin share all answers with Leia and not him? He didn't expect to hear that from that fight. He wasn't sure what he wanted from picking at her, but it wasn't that suddenly Leia and his father bonded. His mind felt like breaking. Everything in Luke's life was enveloped in finding his origins now. And the one person that could help, won't and can't. And the other person is dead. The only other person that could help is Master Yoda or Caleb. Why did Anakin keep everything away from Luke, his son? Luke clenched his jaw in utter frustration as Leia sat next to him.

"We'll get him out. He'll explain everything to you." Leia rubbed his back, as much as she wanted to share this information with him now she knew she needed to wait. Luke deserved that moment with his Father.

"How? How are we ever going to do that? We don't even know where he is. He could be on any planet, in any star destroyer. My Mother won't keep him out in the open." Luke commented.

"We don't." Leia agreed. "But there are people and sources that we can ask. In the meantime, we can get Han. We know where he is, let's deal with what we know." Leia suggested the change in subject.

"I don't even know if I'm ready for another fight." Luke twisted his new, mechanical wrist. It reminded him of the darkness that took it from him. Luke hung his shoulders the way his Father would've in his same spot, the desperation radiating there.

"I could do this on my own if you like-" Leia offered.

"No." Luke shot the idea down, "Jabba's Palace is somewhere you should never go to alone unless you're a bounty hunter or stupid."

"Then how will we get in?" Leia asked.

"I'm working on it." Luke said, "First, I need to make my lightsaber."

"Make it?" Leia was surprised, when it came to Jedi tradition she knew very little, "How do you just make one?"

"With the Force." Luke said generally, because to be honest he didn't really know himself.

"How vague of you." Leia muttered, "How long will that take?"

"I don't know. But I can't go in there unarmed." Luke said, searching drawers hoping to stumble upon the right parts.

"You don't know? So this is a project that could take weeks?" Leia questioned.

"Maybe." Luke shrugged.

"Han is frozen in carbonate, we have no idea where Lando and Chewie went and you think we have weeks to spare?" Leia protested.

"No, I don't. But I also can't go in there without a lightsaber." Luke stood his ground. Luke and Leia were bound to butt heads, inheriting their parents nature.

"This is ridiculous. We've already lost a month of time Han could be dead by now. We have plenty of blasters you can use, you're a good shot! You can play Jedi later!-" Leia tried to hurry up the process.

"I'm not 'playing.' I need my lightsaber by my side. I need practice before facing Majka again." Luke said.

Leia huffed and went into the bedroom. She closed the door behind her. She had had enough of Luke's wide eyed phrases and constant plea of wisdom, that he can change the world all by himself. She was in general tired of him already. Usually when you find out about a long lost brother, it's excited but for Leia it was only confusing.

She didn't even particularly know where here anger stemmed from. It was this constant bellowing of disappointment and frustration to her situation. She lost her love. She found her parents, lost her parents. Found out her mother was the root of all of her issues her entire rebel alliance career. Found out about her brother, but can't tell or explain it to him in a way he'd understand.

Her position was extremely difficult. She felt as if a portion of the galaxy just pushed down on her shoulders and the other portion rested at her ankles. Her body slumped against the contrasting cold stone walls. She knew if Luke had the Force, it would mean that she also would.

She closed her eyes, but she didn't even know how to begin. How she had done it before, that emotion was dangerous and she knew it unwise to access it again. And thinking of her mother, she regretted even beginning down such a path. She couldn't understand how Luke would want to try something that could ruin someone so horribly. In a strange way it's like drinking when alcoholism runs in the family. So she threw the thought away. Her stubbornness coming across as loss of faith in herself. If Luke wanted to go about his lightsaber business, fine. Leia wouldn't stop him.

But he won't stop her from getting back Han, force or not. She would create a plan for herself. Luke can join her when he's ready.
