The group made it back to the rendezvous where the Rebels cheered, thinking they had lost their friends entirely. Luke was rushed to the medical bay immediately to get treatment for his hand.

After well needed rest, Leia telling their vague story, and Lando making plans to rescue Han, Luke was finally getting his new hand.

Leia looked off into the distance next to her droids. Luke winced at the new feelings in his hand as the medical droid poked needles at his fingertips.

"Luke." Lando's voice came in through his comlink. "Chewie and I are set and ready for take off."

"Good luck, Lando." Luke told him, clenching his fist and testing his realistic hand.

"When we find Jabba the Hut and that bounty hunter, we'll contact you." Lando said.

"We'll meet you at the rendezvous point on Tatooine." Luke said. Leia walked over to put a comforting hand on her brothers shoulder.

"Don't worry, Princess. We'll find Han, I promise." Lando tried a comforting word.

"Chewie, we'll be waiting for your signal. Take care you two." Luke said, the medical droid closed up the mechanics on Luke's new hand.

Chewie responded with a loud response of how he'll miss them.

"We'll miss you, too, Chewie." Leia smiled then returned to her window. Luke was just getting out of bed, adjusting his control on his wrist when the door opened.

"Luke Skywalker?" A man with long hair and a beard entered the room. His eyes were covered with a blast shield of some sort.

"That's me. Who are you?" Luke asked, his guard automatically up.

"I'm Kanan Jarrus." The man introduced himself, "I'm from another rebel cell on Lothal."

"It's nice to meet you. Is there anything I can help with?" Luke offered.

"I was a Padawan learner in the Jedi Order during the war." Kanan shifted uncomfortably by the door.

"Wow." Luke was taken aback, Leia turned around as well, "I didn't know any other Jedi still existed."

"They don't, really." Kanan said, "They grew to be extinct a long time ago."

"But aren't you a Jedi? So they aren't extinct. They live through you." Luke said, trying to prove his own wisdom.

"I'm not so sure about that anymore." Kanan admitted. "I'm here to talk to you, you're Master Skywalker's son?"

"I am." Luke choked out the subject of his parentage. Leia walked over as well.

"I'm sorry miss, if you don't mind I'd like to talk to Luke alone." Kanan apologized.

"I'm Leia-" Leia began but it didn't take long for Kanan to see the resemblance in nature. He recognized her from a mission they did years ago.

"Leia? Oh, I'm sorry Princess. I didn't even recognize your voice." He said, "I just, I have something I need to tell you."

"What is it?"

"It's about your mother." Kanan said. Luke looked scared, about to ask how he knew, "In the Order, I was her apprentice. Back then my name was Caleb Dume. I was around 14 when I left the Order, despite how much (Y/N) tried to stop me. She was an excellent Master, one of the most powerful in the Order by far-"

"Is there a reason you're telling me this?" Luke asked, the wound of who his mother was still fresh. Leia put a hand on his forearm to calm him.

"I just thought I would give some background for what I'm going to say." Caleb sighed, Luke sure had (Y/N)'s genes.

"And what are you going to say?" Leia urged.

"I just- I was captured by the Empire just before the battle on Hoth. I was kept there a few weeks." Caleb shared.

"I'm so sorry-" Luke was ready to apologize for his lineage.

"Don't be. I was the one to seek her out. I needed to know the truth. What I didn't think I would learn was that she was still my Master." Caleb admitted.

"That thing is not human." Luke said, protective.

"She is. She was confused, manipulated-" Caleb tried.

"She is manipulative!" Luke was angry during his outburst.

"You have to believe me." Caleb said, "I didn't want to either. In fact for days I wanted to kill her myself. But she let me go."

"She let you go? You didn't escape?" Leia asked, as it was the normal way of doing things around here.

"No, she spoke to me. Told me how she wanted to help the rebels, but she had to do so quietly. Any kind of signs and she would die and then where would our leverage be?" Caleb shared, "It makes sense, Luke. She never tried to harm me, not once."

Luke and Leia felt no string of lies in his words. His words were honest, his story was true.

"You mean, my father wasn't lying?" Luke felt a hope reemerge.

"She's a good woman. She just got lost, she thought her family was dying. She had had visions about it for days. The Emperor told her that if she gave herself to the dark side she would be able to save you." Caleb said, "I only wish your father were here."

"Me too.." Luke said, regretting everything, "Why didn't she turn back the moment things got horrible? When she thought her family died?"

"The Dark Side isn't to be tread lightly, it consumes and attaches itself to a user-" he described.

"I don't know who you saw, but the woman that cut off my hand was no angel. Everything about her was cold. She wanted me to join her, it was disgusting." Like said, crossing his arms and getting on his feet.

"Luke, you don't understand. If she did something it has purpose. You have no idea the leash the Chancellor has her on, she gets tortured harsher than anyone has ever seen. I've felt her scars, I've seen the trauma." Caleb persisted.

"Are we supposed to feel bad for her?" Leia said, mimicking Luke's tone.

"No, you're supposed to understand. I talked to her, not Darth Majka, but (Y/N). She's still there. You felt the good in her, didn't you?" Caleb said. He waited for Luke or Leia to respond but they didn't, "Your Father, I heard he was taken?"

"Hardly." Leia sighed, "He sacrificed himself for everyone."

"Sounds like the Skywalker way." Caleb understood.

"How many people know this, what you've learned about Darth Majka?" Leia asked.

"Only a few. My Ghost squadron, and the few who found me do." The blinded Jedi said.

"Do you plan on sharing it?" Leia asked further,

"Only if that's what you think I should do. They aren't my parents." Caleb said.

"We're getting him back." Luke was firm, he realized he had let his own anger cloud him from his morals.

"What about her?" Caleb asked, hopeful, "Are you just going to let her continue suffering?"

Yes. Luke thought for a moment. With all the suffering she caused him he first thought she deserved it. But he also desired for his family, despite all the patches he'll need to sew. People needed his help and he couldn't let that go.

"We don't need to tell anybody." Leia interjected, "Nobody knows who Darth Majka really is behind her mask. We can save her, get her in different clothes and help her in secret if that's the case."

"You're serious?" Luke looks at her astonished. Leia hesitates in fear of showing that she has emotions.

"It's our job as rebels against the Empire to save any suffering soul at the hands of the Emperor." Leia stated, "It seems to me the woman who fits that best is (Y/N) (Y/L/N)."

Leia gave a look of hopefulness to Luke. Luke sighed grabbing his sisters hand, despite his lack of knowledge, he nodded.

"Okay. We'll get them back, you better be right Master Jarrus." Luke hung his head.

"I'm hardly a Master. Call me.. Caleb." Caleb said, accepting himself again. Hopefully this trait will reflect in his Master.

Leia went to the window to join 3PO and R2. Caleb guided himself outside. Luke pushed his own hair back and got back up on his feet. He went to Leia by the window.

"We'll get them back." Luke assured her. Her sad eyes starring off, looking for her mother, her parents, her love. All the people in her life have been taken by the Empire. She would make sure this would never happen again.

"I know."
