10.
Luke came back to the place he left his friends determined. He had just seen his family and home burned. His jaw clenched he hopped out of the speeder.
Anakin could sense when he came back and ran down to meet him. He felt Luke's tense feelings and took the assumption to what he saw. If the Empire is willing to destroy innocent Jawas they're capable of destroying two farmers.
"There's nothing you could've done, Luke." Anakin put his hand on the young boy's shoulder.
"If you were there you would've been killed too. And the droids would be in the hands of the Empire." Obi-Wan explained.
"I want to come with you and learn the ways of the Force." Luke held his ground. He was angry. He doesn't have the time to be sad right now, his default feelings were anger like his parents before him.
"You're sure about this?" Anakin checked with him, he wanted to make sure it was something Luke actually wanted.
"I'm coming with you to Alderaan, there's nothing for me here. I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my parents." Luke told him. He was so upset at the Empire, they've taken too much from his life. He's ready to fight them now.
"If that's what you want." Anakin nodded, underneath his solemn demeanor he was so thankful. For the good of himself, he needs his son.
This also meant nothing held him back from telling Luke the truth about himself.
"Quickly. Staying around these parts too long isn't good." Obi-Wan ushered everyone back to the tiny speeder.
"Where do we go now?" Luke asked.
"Mos Eisley Space Port." Anakin told him, "Be careful while we're there, you'll never find an area with more scum & villainy."
~
The 5 of them were just entering the Port when several sandtroopers cornered them.
"Can we help you, officers?" Anakin's old smugness returned. He's been dealing with these guys for a while and knew exactly how to waltz around them.
"How long have you had those droids?" The sand trooper, who assigned himself as leader, asked.
"About 2 or 3 seasons." Obi-Wan gave the practical answer.
"They're for sale if you'd like them?" Anakin joined in. Obi-Wan gave Anakin a silent side eye for his behavior, but all Anakin could do is smile it felt like he was in his 20's again.
"We're going to need to see your identification." The Sand trooper shifted his focus to Luke. Luke, getting nervous, looked back at his friends.
"You don't need to see his identification." Anakin lifted a few fingers toward the sand troopers mask. He couldn't let Luke get in trouble this early, they needed to get to Alderaan as soon as possible. Anakin was powerful enough to make this trick to effect the other troopers as well.
"We don't need to see his identification." The Sand trooper repeated.
"These are not the droids you're looking for." Obi-Wan chimed in, doing the same trick. Luke just stared in amazement.
"These are not the droids we're looking for." The Sand trooper repeated.
"Move along." Anakin whispered just to him.
"Move along!" The Sand Trooper repeated one last time and Luke sped out of there.
"How did you guys do that?" Luke asked in amazement. He couldn't believe what had just happened, "I mean, I can't believe we got past those troops! I thought we were dead!"
"The Force, Luke. The Force has a strong influence on the weak minded." Obi-Wan explained.
"And storm troopers, are definitely classified as the weak minded." Anakin added.
"Well, you have to teach me that!" Luke got all excited. He wanted to manipulate every storm trooper he saw, he hated them so much.
"All in good time, Luke." Obi-Wan settled him. Anakin just smiled.
Anakin told Luke to pull up to an older Cantina notorious for holding bounty hunters and wanted men.
"Here?" Luke looked at the place. Obi-Wan smiled at how much Luke began to sound like his father when he was younger, "You really think we'll find a pilot here that'll take us to Alderaan?"
"Yes, here." Anakin replied, patting his son on the back while hopping out, "And we've got a pilot-"
"We're not getting a ship without the pilot, Anakin." Obi-Wan stopped him. Anakin sighed, he just wanted to fly again and was hopeful.
"Fine, either way most of the best freighter pilots will be found here." Anakin said, "Although watch your step, this place can get a little rough."
Walking in Anakin felt stronger, more like himself. He was beginning to feel more like Anakin Skywalker again. You could hear him in his voice, see him in his walk, even in his eyes. It was incredible, even Luke noticed the slight difference in demeanor.
"I'm ready for anything." Luke assured him. And Luke was ready. Luke didn't care if he lived or died, he felt like there was no one else left who truly cared for him.
Anakin left the group almost immediately to find his old friend. He knew where to go, this was not his first time at this Cantina. Luke and Obi-Wan stood back a moment and surveyed their surroundings.
"Hey!" The bartender got their attention, "We don't serve their kind here."
"Huh?" Luke stood confused, he thought he was pointing at him. But there were plenty of humans here?
"The droids." The bartender rolled his eyes, "They'll have to wait outside, we don't want them here!"
"Just wait outside, we don't want any trouble." Luke turned to 3PO.
"Of course, Master Luke!" 3PO ushered R2 outside.
Luke and Obi-Wan walked to the bar trying to get themselves back on a low profile. Which didn't exactly last long. An Aqualish man standing next to Luke didn't want Luke standing next to him.
The Aqualish man pushed Luke and spoke in a language Luke didn't understand. Luke didn't know how to act but he listened to Anakin and was trying to be careful. He nodded then returned to his drink. Then in an instant a man grabbed Luke's shoulder.
"He doesn't like you." The man said.
"I'm sorry." Luke said, getting nervous now, he tried to leave them again.
"I don't like you, either!" The man growled, bringing Luke back to face him, "You just watch yourself! We're wanted men. I have the death sentence on twelve systems!" The man boasted. Luke glanced around him and noticed the eyes they were beginning to catch, Luke couldn't have that but also couldn't say something that made him seem like an easy target.
"I'll be careful." He repeated Anakin's words from earlier and turned back to his drink, poor choice.
"You'll be dead!" The man yelled in Luke's face. He could smell the rot from his breath and knew this man was not afraid to get his hands dirty.
"This little one is not worth the effort." Obi-Wan respectfully butted in, "Now, let me get you something."
But that only angered the wanted man more. He grabbed Luke's shoulder and threw him into tables behind him. Luke in fear, he had never been in a fight before, yelled for Anakin and Obi-Wan to help him. The mans Aqualish accomplice pulled out a blaster and prepared to shoot Obi-Wan, but before he could Anakin ran across the bar and did the first thing he could think of. Anakin pulled his lightsaber out to deflect the blaster fire back at the Aqualish man, then seeing the man who tried to kill his son Anakin sliced his arm off with such grace it was a wonder if it was even a crime.
The entire bar stopped and watched as it happened in awe. They had seen Anakin around here before, but because he was so tall and brooding after one fight with a man even larger with him nobody tried to fight him. And now they're glad they didn't considering the lightsaber he just pulled out. The bounty hunters and wanted men who lived through the Clone Wars recognized the weapon, and finally made the connection, some who were actually fans of the Jedi see a slight resemblance of him and his other friend as the Anakin and Obi-Wan from the holonet, but it couldn't be? All the Jedi were wiped out? Some had seen them in their prime fighting against the droids that threatened their world and for whatever reason know it's the same pair. The only thing that might solidify the recognition is if the Jedi General (Y/N) was there. If you saw them coming to save your world, you would know you were safe. But no one says anything, some don't to protect their secret childhood hero, or because they already know that nobody says anything after a fight at the Cantina, or because some would rather talk to collect a reward for the Jedi sighting.
Soon the civilians returned to their previous conversation. And it settled in to Anakin what he had just showed, not a smart move but he had to protect them. He sheathes his light saber and helps Luke off the ground.
"Are you alright?" He asks his son.
"I'm alright." Luke rubs the bump forming on the back of his head.
"That wasn't a good idea, we must move quickly." Obi-Wan urged Anakin.
"Relax, old man, I have a plan." Anakin told him, turning to the giant Wookie that had followed him to the bar, "Chewbacca here, is First Mate on a ship that just might fit our needs."
Obi-Wan sighed, he knew how Anakin's plans usually went. They were usually crazy, and at his age going to give him a heart attack, but they never fail. He was right back in it.
