Chapter 7: Juice
And I'm the one
I thought I gave these bitches hope
So when you see us pulling up
Don't even tweak
You run your mouth
But you running through the streets...

RICO
"Nigga I oughta fuck ya tha fuck up!"
I reached for my phone. She pushed it out of the way. We were standing chest to chest. Her tiny stomach protruded a little bit.
"Ya told ya fucking bitch I was pregnant? Why would ya do some shit like that Rico?"She shouted in my ear.
"Amarah, she was on my back about why I was with yo-"
"So that means ya tell ha ma business? Nigga ya done lost ya fuckin mind."
My phone buzzed on the counter. Toni's name popped up on the screen. Amarah snatched the phone and walked out of the bathroom. I shook my head as I went after her.
"Baby?"Toni squealed into the phone.
"Na bitch this Amarah. Ya think telling ma business is cute?"
"Where is Rico? Why are you over his house?"
"Rico bout ta lose his life just like ya. Let me catch ya outside some whea'."
"Give Rico the phone now!"
"Nah bitch I'll see ya Monday. Niya gon beat ya ass because I can't. Best believe I'll get my lick in though."
"Ri-"
She hung up the phone. I walked over to her and took it out of her hands. Toni was calling back, but I wasn't going to answer. I needed to focus on Amarah for now.
Tears streamed from her eyes as I held her. She sobbed softly. I just held her. I didn't know what else to do.
"I wish he was hea'. He would kna what ta do,"She cried out. "Why'd he have ta leave us?"
"Shit happens Amarah. I can't explain it too you."
"I rememba when our first date. Ya kna I hated him cause he told me off. I had neva been spoken ta like that. If it was anybody else I woulda cut them off, but it was something bout him."
JORDAN
I stood outside of her tiny house. Her brothers stood in the window with binoculars. I waved at them. They jumped and ducked down. I chuckled. I couldn't wait to have kids.
She walked out of the house with white ripped jeans that hugged her curves. Her shirt cut low and exposed her chest. She had on a red cropped puffer jacket that completed her outfit.

I smiled as she walked towards me with her usual attitude. Her arms were crossed and her face was mug. She stopped once she was in front of me
"What's happening?"I mumbled.
"Is ya takin me out or not? I can go back ta ma bed."
I opened my car door for her. She rolled her eyes.
"I have a special itinerary for us tonight."
"I'm not gettin in tha ca'e unless ya tell me whea' we goin'..."
"Amarah."
"Jordan."
"I want it to be a surprise. I'm not telling you. That's literally the point of a surprise."
"Well I guess we gon sit in this hea' ya'd."
"We're going ice skating."
"In septemba?"
"You have on a puffer jacket Amarah."
"It completes tha fit. I can't ice skate."
"I'll teach you. My father taught me when I was younger. It's always been some-"
"White ass,"She mumbled under her breath. "I gotta be back home ba eleven."
"You have a curfew?"I asked as she stepped into the car.
"No, I just don't wanna be out with ya lame ass all night. I gotta stay up fa tha reruns of Everybody Hates Chris."
I gently shut her door and jogged to the other side of the car. I got inside and buckled up. She sat back in the seat. I smiled.
"I never heard of that show before. What's that about?"
She stared at me, "It was nice seein ya, but I gotta go."
I grabbed her hand. "Chill Marah, I'm playing."
"I'm not playin. Ya keep acting boujee, and I'm not with that. Ya eitha act right or I'll leave."
"So black people can't speak properly now?"I asked with a confused tone. "If I don't cuss and shorten my words, I'm not black?"
"I'm not sayin tha-"
"Yeah you are. You're saying I'm not black because of how I speak. I've put up with it for awhile, but I won't continue to do this. I really like you Amarah, but I'm not doing this with you."
She shrugged her shoulders. She opened the car door and stepped out. I didn't say anything. I just started the engine to my car.
As soon as I was about to leave, she came out of the door. She walked over to my car and got inside. I smiled as she continued to keep her mean mug.
"What ya smiling fa? Drive."
I didn't say anything else. I just pushed my foot to the pedal, and we were off.

AMARAH
The cool air inside the building made my skin tingle. I looked up at the crowd of teenagers hovered around the door. Rico put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in got a hug.
Niya stood in front of me with a mug face. I smiled and she smiled back. I couldn't let all of this bother me.
"Rico!"I heard a voice say.
Before I could even turn around, Niya had punched the shit out of Toni. Toni stumbled back into Alayah's arms.
"Niya, ya needa calm down."
"Nah that bitch wanna talk shit about you! She gon get knocked the hell out playing with me!" Niya shouted. "You gon lie and tell everybody I'm pregnant too?"
"She's not lyin,"I mumbled.
"Huh?"
I bent down to Toni's level. Her nose was busted. She held it as blood slowly dripped out of it. I gave her a sly smile. I leaned into her ear.
"Thanks fa tryna tell me business, but I think I got it from hea',"I whispered into her ear.
I stood up and dusted myself off. Rico reaches down to help her, but I placed my hand in front of him. She was the reason for majority of our issues right now. All I needed was for him to let her be.
He didn't say anything. He just followed me through the crowd that formed. I smiled to myself knowing exactly what I was doing.
"Jordan left me his peace. I can't keep that ta ma'self no mo."
"What does that mean?"
I looked up at him, "We throw a party."
