P.O.V. [Name]

"Yeah it's me now we need to talk about something." I heard my dad say as I raised from the bed.

"Sure but can we leave the room? I'd rather not wake Velvet." I said looking towards the door.

"I don't see anything wrong with it." He said as he walked outside.

I nodded and followed him outside. I turned towards him and he had stern but not serious look on his face. "So her name's Velvet huh?"

"Yeah Why?" I asked looking at him. Then it occurred to me just what he had walked into. "D-dad I swear that wasn't not what it looked like." I said trying to explain things.

"I Know." He said looking at me. I in my panicked state had chosen to ignore this.

"It really isn't you see I came to visit her yesterday and . . . Wait what?" I asked finally registering what he had said.

"I know. I will admit when I walked in on this last night I was a little concerned but I asked to look at last night's tapes and I saw what happened. So I got some things we need to talk about one of which is about this situation." He said looking at me.

"Alright but can you make it quick?" I asked looking at him.

"As quick as this can go." He responded then began to explain a few things. "First off me and your mother already knew about your girlfriend. We paid people to monitor you personal and social life. Next off we paid people to monitor her as well to see if she really does return your feeling. Those few weeks you disappeared kind of cleared that up though. This one is more or less a question. I have heard from reliable resources that you have permission to marry her. So do you plan to marry her?"

This one had understandably caught me off guard. I had considered who I was talking to and I had decided to answer it honestly. "Yes. I do plan to ask her sometime in the near future."

"That's good then." He said letting out a slight sigh. He looked at me and handed me a piece of paper. He then walked away and I slipped the paper into my pocket 'I'll look at it later.' I thought as I walked back into the room to see that Velvet was still sleeping. She looked at peace which brought a smile to my face.

I walked over and sat on the chair I was sitting in yesterday and waited for Velvet to wake up. I looked over to her and gave her small smile. "Hey Velvet. Sleep well?" I asked and she gave a slight nod and a smile appeared on her face.

"Hey [Name] I'm a bit hungry could you go out and get me something to eat?" She asked to which I nodded and said "Of course Velvet." I walked out side and went to a nearby store that sold a couple different things. I bought them and on the way back to the hospital I remembered the note my dad had given me.

I pulled it out and opened it up. On it were a couple different names and addresses on it. At the bottom was a short message from my dad.
In case you haven't figured out yet these are the names and addresses of the people that hurt my future daughter in law just be sure not to make the same mistake they did.

I looked over the names and addresses that were on the paper to the point of memorizing them. Then I crumbled it and threw it in a local trash can and walked off. 'Looks like I be paying a couple different people a visit tonight.' I thought as I walked into the hospital and went up to Velvets room.

When I walked in she instantly noticed the bag in my hand. "Sorry I didn't know what you liked you I got a bunch of stuff for you to choose from." I said looking at her. I pulled out a couple different vegetables because I had noticed at school she never eats the meat they serve. So I just assumed she doesn't like meats.

I let her pick out what she wanted and I ate what was left. I wasn't to picky when it came to letting Velvet have her way. After all I'm her boyfriend I'm supposed to be there for her. I can't just leave her in her times of need which is why I'm here. I looked over at her and looked away a little embarrassed.

"What?" She asked red present on her face.

"You look cute when you eat." I said without thinking which after I registered what I had said I felt my face heat up. I turned my head away and she looked at me. Then she leaned forward and kissed my cheek.

I was about to ask why she did it but my mind sort of went blank. "I look cute when I eat you say. Well in that case you look cute when you blush." I then understood why she was doing this. I did not however see what would happen next. Her mom walked in.

She came into the most unexpected scene of Velvet attacking my face with butterfly kisses. When I took notice of her I felt my face light up even more and she interrupted the scene by clearing her throat.

"M-mom how long where you there?" I heard her asked a little flustered.

"Long enough." She said giving me a small smile. "[Name] could you give me and Velvet a minute." she asked turning to me.

"Yeah I got something I need to do anyway." As I sat up I looked at Velvet and said "I'll visit you tomorrow." I said as I kissed her forehead. As I left I recalled what my father had said in his message. "Don't make the same mistake they did."

When I thought back I remember him telling me something similar. "The biggest mistake of my life. Was when I was getting revenge for a friend. . . . I shouldn't have let them live." I understood what he was telling me to do and nodded as he left.
