Chapter [1]
Years ago before Bergen's attacked Troll Village, there lived another village filled with grey and dull trolls who never sing, dance, hug or celebrate huge parties. Instead, they celebrate their happiness with a funeral since their happiness was actually dead.
Especially mine.
Rain was falling from the sky, soaking almost literally everyone. Almost.
There he stood under the sunlight, always brightly shining. His smile was yet too bright for us to even try. He was the only one with colors, I'll tell you that. If was strange how we never understood him and his happiness. Meet Sunny, the optimistic and most colorful troll of all in Trollopilis.
He always sang and dance and hug trolls without even asking. It's his culture. Sunny is strange indeed, but deep down... he's not much of a bad guy.
"Morning, Beatrice!" Every single day, Sunny would greet everyone with a smile on his face and a wave with his hand. "Top of the morning, to ya!"
And hi, I'm Beatrice; the one who Sunny is apparently talking to right now. I would always space out in front of him so I wouldn't have to listen to his "encouraging" words or hear him saying, "Cheer up!" or "Be positive!". They honestly annoyed me.
"Morning, Sun," I said. I tried my best not to roll my eyes in front of him because he'd always try to cheer me up when I do. "Shouldn't you be in a better place right now?"
"Course not," he said, "I always feel like I'm in a better place when I'm with you."
Flirty, I see. But I knew in Sunny's perspective, it was just friendly. He shrugged with a half smile. I always found his smiles dorky and cute, I mean, he's like a young little troll who hasn't learned how to smile yet. Maybe that's what I liked about him; he was the only person who knew how to smile.
"Sunny, you sure are a fish out of water." I said.
"Sure am, Beatrice. Even though I don't get it." He shrugged again. He doesn't even know what it means, he's amazing.
"Anyways, I'm going on a scavenge for some food. Wanna come along?" He asked. I just scoffed and rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "I can go on a scavenge by myself, thank you." I really can, though. Not that I don't wanna go with him, I just don't want to make myself seem weak in front of him.
"Well, alrighty then." Sunny gave a half smile which looked goofy and... cute. Ugh, what am I thinking?
"Anyways, see ya, Beatrice." Sunny walked off with a smile. I just stood there in awe and confusion. What am I doing with my life? I just took a deep breath and run my fingers through my dark grey hair that was slightly curly. Then I felt goosebumps on my arms and I rubbed it.
I took off my green vest and put it in my backpack. It was a sunny day after. Sigh, Sunny... But anyways, it was a clear sky with a bright sun. It was warm to the touch, like Sunny's dorky smile... Ugh, I'm doing it again, aren't I?
I started walking home with my backpack on my back. I stared at the ground while watching my feet go by without even caring about where I'm walking towards to. He was on my mind literally all the time, and honestly, I never get tired of it. Everything about him is amazing, and every single thing he does is extraordinary. Sure, he's the kind of guy nobody understands, but that's what I like about him. No one understands his one-of-a-kind amazingness.
"Oh, Sunny... you always seem to cheer me up..." I heard someone say while giggling like a school girl. I lifted my head up and looked around to see Sunny with River. River. River is one of those trolls mostly everybody likes. She has perfect gray skin and perfectly wavy dark hair. Her hazel eyes were focused on Sunny who was talking about how he had this dream where he could fly. He always seemed to crack a joke every 10 seconds.
"My pleasure, River. I'd do anything to make you grey trolls find your colors." Sunny said, self-less. He always thought about other trolls before himself. He gave a simple smile at her, a smile I've never seen before. Actually, I noticed almost all the time that he only shows me his goofy and dorky smile. And in my opinion, I felt loved.
"Now tell me, Sunny... Have you ever thought of having a girlfriend?" River asked shamelessly. I couldn't stop myself to walking towards them, "Oh hey, Sunny and River."
River gave me a dull look, "Oh, it's you."
"Beatrice! Nice to meet you here!" He said.
"I thought you went scavenging?" I squinted my eyes in a bit of a suspicious way, but not in an obvious way. I put my hand on the trunk of a tree near me and leaned towards it with my arm supporting me. I gave an awkward grin and focused my eyes ONLY on Sunny.
"Right, right. About that, River actually suggested me to bring her along." He said while facing me. Of course she would...
"Yes, indeed I did," River gave an innocent yet evil grin while holding onto Sunny's arm. I could tell that he had strong muscles in that arm, because River's grip is rather tight. "Now will you excuse me? I have some important questions to ask Sunny."
He pulled his arm slowly. "Woah, woah, it's okay. I don't mind having Beatrice here. She's my best friend." He said, looking at me with that ol' dorky smile. While looking back at Sunny, I could from the corner of my eye that River was about to explode. Ha. Ha.
"Hey, you know what? I'm gonna help you scavenge for some food," I said.
"Really?!" River and Sunny said in unison. Only Sunny was a bit more excited than River who was actually disappointed and mad. First of all, this is exactly my plan.
