A new day rises with a lot more hope in life. Vineet wakes up to some laughter echoing in the house. He looks to his side, but Ruhana is nowhere to be seen. He glances at the wall clock, and it shows 7:30 AM. He freshens up and moves out. He finds both Ruhana and Samrat in the kitchen. The only difference being, that Samrat is preparing the coffee while Ruhana is sitting on the platform, laughing at some of his jokes.

"Oh god! Sammie! Tum na bilkul na badle." She says.

Samrat eyes her and sends a wink her way.

"Main badalta toh samajh aata, tu kyun itna change ho gayi?" he asks.

"Kuch bhi, haan! Shut up, Sam! Aisa kuch nahi hai." She says slapping his arm lightly.

"It's like that, princess. But you're not telling me anything." Samrat says.

Ruhana glares at him and jumps down the platform.

"Tum apna detective dimag nahi chalao. Bahut dimag chalane lage ho." She slaps his cheek.

Samrat laughs at her frown. He holds her hand.

"Ab dimag toh chalana padega na. Best friend ki baat hai."  he says.

Ruhana shakes her head and picks up the tray  and moves out. She finds Vineet on the way and she smiles..

"Tum uth gaye? I was just coming." She says.

" Bas aankh khul gayi.. Waise kya baatein ho rahi thi?" he asks.

"Kuch khas nahi, Vineet. Hum purani yaadein taaza kar rahe they."  Samrat replies.

Ruhana keeps the tray on the table and serves the mugs to the two guys. They take their seats in the living room. Ruhana looks at him.

"Vineet, aaj tum spare keys leke jana." She says briefly.

He looks at her. He didn't expect her to say that. He wanted her to be home by the time he comes from office. But it's not happening since yesterday. Ruhana looks at him.

"Raat ko bataya tha na, meri ek client meeting hai. Derr ho sakti hai. And then Samrat ko ek do logon se milvana hai. Tumhare pas keys rahenge toh acha rahega."  Ruhana says.

" I'm sorry, Vineet. I'm taking so much time of her." Samrat says.

Vineet smiles lightly. He knows that she's saying this because she won't have time for him today as well.

" It's alright, Samrat. She's your friend and you will need her help. I'll manage. " Vineet says.

" Han, Vineet manage kar lega, par tum nahi kar paoge, Sammie. Acha batao, you have a meeting na?" Ruhana asks.

"Haan! Koi hotel Sky High mein jana hai." Samrat says.

"That's on the way to my office. Kitne baje jana hai tumhe?"  Vineet asks, trying to initiate a conversation.

" Mujhe toh 11 baje jana hai."  Samrat tells him.

" Vineet, tum rehne do, tumhe toh jaldi jana hota hai na.. Main Samrat ko drop kardungi." Ruhana says.

Vineet nods affirmatively. He can't accompany Samrat, he has an office to handle. Ruhana seems to be disinterested  in him as well. He can make it out since she is not talking to him properly and is talking with Samrat, mostly. He's disappointed. Her words from the last night are still echoing in his ears. His trance is broken by Ruhana's voice.

" Tum dono ready ho jao.. Main nashta banati hoon." She says with a smile.

"Arey I'll help." Samrat says, as he has a keen interest in cooking and eating food.

"Na sammie. You go and get ready. Tujhe waise bhi ready hone mein bahut time lagta hai.". Ruhana says mischievously.

"Hey! Aisa kuch nahi hai."  he says.

"Aisa hi hai, sammie." Ruhana throws a cushion at Samrat and runs away while the latter chases the former.

Vineet looks at them. They aren't even looking at him. He feels a sudden pang in his heart. The only reason is Ruhana's behavior towards him. He is feeling that she's happy being with Samrat and not him. He moves into his room to get ready. He makes his way into the washroom while remembering her words. She accused him for not talking to her or of taking care of her. Now,why is he feeling bad? She's happy with her best friend and she isn't coaxing him to sit with her or talk with her. His trance is broken when he hears her voice which says that she has put his clothes on the bed. He sighs. She remembers all her duties  and he didn't even remember any of his promises that he made to her.

He turns off the shower and moves out to get ready for the day. Fifteen minutes later, he moves out and finds Samrat sitting on the dining table while Ruhana is serving the breakfast. Today, all of the breakfast is of Samrat's choice. Vineet takes his place and Ruhana passes him his a cup of tea.

"Sorry Vineet! Aaj main tumhare toasts nahi banaye. Aaj poha kha lo, I'll order Raju to bring the bread." She says.

"Bread! How do you two eat bread every day?" Samrat asks making a face.

"You know I don't like Bread, sammie. Vineet ko subah bread toast hi chahiye hota hai. Is wajah se main kuch banati hi nahi. I take cornflakes, because mujhe bread pasand nahi."  Ruhana says.

Samrat looks at Vineet, who has now served poha for himself.

" Dude! Bread is boring. Tumhari biwi itna acha khana banati hai, tum kyun bread khate ho! Main hota na tumhari jagah, toh roz ek farmaish karta. " Samrat says and laughs.

" Farmaish tab hogi na, jab koi dhayn dena chahega." Ruhana says and Vineet glances at her for another time.

He knows all of it is for her. Meanwhile, her phone rings and she gets busy with it. Samrat and Vineet talk a little about works when Ruhana's voice startled them.

" Okay great! I'll be there in an hour." She says on the call and disconnects it.

"Sammie! Keep your things ready, we'll leave in half an hour. Hotel sky high mein meri bhi meeting hai.. You can wait in the lounge." She says.

Samrat agrees And ruhana hands spare key to Vineet asking him to take care. She then moves to her room to take a shower and  get ready, while Vineet is left occupied with his own thoughts.
