TWENTY ONE.

After spending the night yelling, calling each other hateful words, and throwing objects at each other, Damon decided to put it aside and still want her help in opening the tomb. So, there they sat, acting as if her confession was still a secret as they rummaged through Emily's grimoire trying to find a reversal spell.

Stefan barged through the front door with an anxious expression as he looked at the two, "Anna took Elena."

Simultaneously rolling their eyes, Damon let out a sigh, "yeah, we got that from your 600 voicemails."

Stefan strode across the room to stand in front of his brother and best friend, "Damon, all night long, every single street in town, I've been searching." He turned his attention to Jasmine who, frankly, was not listening, "what if your blood hasn't passed out of her system?"

"Well, then at least you know you'll see her again." Jasmine let out a laugh as Damon snickered.

Stefan rushed to sit beside Jasmine, hoping to get through to her. "Please, Jasmine. I was with Anna, but she's not that stupid to stay in the same place. Help me find her."

Jasmine sat there, staring at him as her facial expression slowly turned guilty. Guilty that she wasn't even considering helping Stefan find the girl he loves, but right now she had to make up with Damon by helping him. Elena was fine, she was sure of it. Anna wouldn't do anything to harm her, she knew very well that Jasmine would come after her if she even laid a hand on the doppelganger.

"Nope. You can go, really." Damon slammed the book as he grabbed Jasmine's hand, lifting them both up from the couch.

"You know, all I can remember is hating you. There might have been a time that was different, but your choices have erased anything good about you. But see, I also know you have just as much reason to hate me." Stefan stood from the couch as well, standing behind them as they both abruptly stopped, "this all began with me. Katherine got taken away from you because of me and I'm sorry."

Casting a side glance towards Jasmine, Damon sighed as he turned to look at his brother, "apology accepted."

"So, please, just help me."

Standing there, Jasmine held her breath. Stefan's voice cracked as he watched them, hoping they would help him. She wanted to, she really did, but she couldn't, not directly at least.

"It's Elena, Jasmine."

Damon gave her a nudge as she huffed out, turning to face Stefan with a sarcastic smile, "we mean this sincerely, Stefan. Seriously, we do."

"We hope Elena dies."

Damon dropped her off at the Gilbert residence. Alongside being invited by Jenna to join her for a late breakfast, Jasmine hoped Jeremy might have an inkling of an idea on where Anna might be. Knocking on the door, she let out a laugh when Jenna opened the door, flour littered across her face and apron.

"Oh hush! Making muffins from scratch is extremely difficult! Which, I blame you for the mess considering you said you wouldn't come unless I made homemade muffins." Jenna widens the door, letting Jasmine stroll on by into the kitchen.

"What can I say? Homemade is much more delicious."

Jenna cleared the table as Jasmine sat down, "that's true, but I don't think you'll enjoy mine. They're kind of burned." She, then, laid out the food she had reheated onto two plates and set them in front of them both.

"It's the effort that counts, right?" Jasmine giggles as she picks up a half burned muffin, examining it. She set it down and looked at Jenna who was shaking her head at her failed attempt of muffins.

"I suppose so. Anyways, how are you? I know you said you couldn't stay long, but I hope this doesn't necessarily waste your time."

"On the contrary, Jenna. So much stuff is gong on that this little break is just the distraction I need, so, thank you." Jasmine began slowly eating the food off her plate and Jenna continued to ask her questions.

Some were ordinary questions as favorite color? Red. Favorite movie? Seen too many to pick one. Favorite places that you have visited? Santorini, by far is the most beautiful place I have seen. Others were more personal like what happened to your parents? My mother died of natural causes and my father was murdered. Does not having them around make you sad? No, I was never close with them and it's been so long since I've even given them a thought.

Jasmine was enjoying herself. It's been quite some time since she's had anyone want to know the answers to such things. It was refreshing. Jenna felt the same, it was as if she could confide in the vampire with absolutely anything.

"Hey, is Jeremy around? I ran into that chick he's been seeing... Anna? She helped me with some personal things and I wanted to thank her in person, but I don't know where she's staying at. I was hoping Jeremy might know."

Jenna shook her head, "no, sorry. He left for the grill a while ago, but I can give you his number so you can call him? I'm sure he won't mind."

"Perfect." After getting the number, Jasmine sent her a wide smile and promised to hang out together soon as she left the Gilbert residence.

Jasmine sighed as she pulled out her phone, quickly dialing Jeremy. On the third ring a confused hello sounded through the phone, "Jeremy! It's Jasmine, Stefan's friend. Listen, Anna invited me over to her place today, but it seems to be under remodeling. Do you happen to know where she's currently staying at?"

"Yeah, y-yeah, of course. She just booked a room at the Mystic Falls Inn. She's in room 229."

"Thank you so much, Jeremy. You've been a great help."

"N-no problem. Bye." Jeremy struggled to hang up the phone. When he finally did he let out a breath of a laugh before shaking his head and returning to his work, wondering how he was able to talk to her with less stuttering than normal.

Jasmine smiled as she began her walk back to the Salvatore residence. She stopped in her tracks when the aroma of fresh blood filled her nostrils. Immediately, she began walking towards the source with bloodshot eyes and fangs on display.

She watched a young teenage girl limp as she occasionally checked her wound on her leg. Jasmine sped forward behind her and grabbed her arm gently, putting on a concerned face as the teenage girl turned around, "are you alright?"

She nodded before sighing, "I accidentally tripped on my leg and, surprise, surprise, I managed to injure myself."

Jasmine let out a small chuckle, "you should probably get it checked..." She waited for the girl to realize she was hoping she'd introduce herself.

"Oh, sorry. My name's Marie."

"Well, Marie, you should get that checked out. Is your family around?" Jasmine let out a small smile as Marie shook her head.

"I-I don't really have a family. It's just me, really."

"You make this too easy, do you know that?"

Marie let out a shriek as Jasmine lunged at her. Blood slowly drained away from her body and soon her barely beating heart was removed from her chest. Jasmine let out a sigh as she slowly ripped her head off her neck. She dropped the contents onto the ground as she took a deep breath, feeling the small power that courses through you when a life was taken by your own hand.

Jasmine bent down to reach for the bracelet that laid on the now dead girl's wrist and placed it upon her own. With a smile, she walked back onto the path that would take her to the Salvatore's house, leaving the body on the floor for the vultures to devour.

"Did you seriously walk around town like that? Jasmine, there is dried blood covering your entire hands!"

"Oh, relax Damon. No one paid me any mind on my way here."

They both walked into the house, only to see that they were interrupting a conversation between Stefan and Anna.

"I can get it."

"Which means your brother has it and I have the Bennett witch, so one of you—no, better yet, have Jasmine meet me in the very public town square in thirty minutes, so we can safely discuss how fun it's gonna be to work together?" Anna ended the call as Stefan looked towards the pair with a desperate look.

"Go ahead, grovel again. Oh, wait, no... we don't care." Damon smirked as he passed by Stefan to head towards his room.

Jasmine sighed as she walked towards the kitchen. She opened the faucet and began washing her hands when she felt Stefan's presence behind her. Jasmine ignored him as he got closer, standing next to her. She glanced up at him and saw a small frown on his lips as he grabbed a small hand towel. Gently, he grabbed her hands and began drying them, something he always tended to do.

"You should really start to learn to take wipes around with you." Jasmine smiled as he let out a small chuckle.

"I did consider it, but then thought better of it. I like this instead." Jasmine slowly pulled her hands away as she looked up at him, "don't worry, Stefan. She'll be okay. I promise."

"How, Jasmine? Neither you nor Damon are willing to help me."

The raven haired vampire shook her head in disbelief, "even after all this time, when will you realize that I will go to the ends of the earth to help you, Stef?"

She walked into the living room and rummaged the drawers for a pencil and paper. When she finally found one, she quickly jotted down the address and a small plan before handing it over to him. She pressed her finger against her lips as she winked at him before walking away.

"Mystic Falls Inn
Room 229.
Head out for her when I meet up with Anna, so she won't be in the room when you go on your rescue mission."

Stefan smiled as he memorized the letter and threw it into the fireplace. He knew never to doubt her because when Jasmine cares for someone as much as she does for the Salvatores and the Mikaelsons, there's nothing that can stand in her way.

When it was time to meet Anna, Jasmine sent Stefan a subtle wink before heading out. As she wanted, the town square was filled with people, everybody doing their daily routine and more. Jasmine slowed to a walk as she noticed Jeremy currently talking to Anna.

Anna had a wide smile on her face as Jeremy walked away. She sat on the bench and glanced around, waiting for Jasmine to arrive.

"Jeremy Gilbert, huh? So, are you just planning on roping in the entire Gilbert family?" Jasmine let out a laugh as she sat down beside her.

"A party, right next to the old cemetery, isn't that nice of them? A lot of warm bodies for starving vampires."

"I told you to stay away and to let me handle this, Annabelle."

Anna scoffed as she rolled her eyes, "waiting didn't do me any good. Anyways, you're minus a Bennett witch and I'm minus a spell book. So, what do you say?"

Jasmine ran a hand through her hair as she smirked. Anna was always rebellious, so she didn't expect anything less than a sort of negotiation, "Stefan will come after you, you know that, right? For messing with his precious Elena."

"Then, he won't be too happy if I kill her when I don't get what I want." It was Anna's turn to smirk as she felt she had the leverage. She stood up and began walking away from the older vampire.

"You kill her... and I won't help you, Annabelle."

Her smirk quickly fell off her face as she groaned and turned to face her. Anna crossed her arms as she looked at her old friend, "god, it's like 1864 all over again. You were always the barrier. The Salvatores are truly pathetic when it comes to women, but you always come to their rescue no matter what, don't you?"

Jasmine gave her a hard glare, causing Anna to take a step back and prepare to flee, "tonight, after sundown, meet us at the church. Don't be late, Annabelle." With that the older vampire walked away from her.
