SIX.
Jasmine knocked on the Gilbert’s door and waited patiently for someone to open it. She put on a fake smile when she saw a blonde open the door.
“Um, hi? Who are you?”
Sighing, she stepped a bit closer to the human and dilated her pupils, “call Elena and tell her to let me in.”
Immediately the blonde went back into the household and called for Elena. The doppelganger was surprised when she saw the eldest vampire, bag in hand.
“Jasmine. What are you doing here?”
Tilting her head, Jasmine feigned confusion, “didn’t I send in my RSVP with Bon-Bon?”
The mentioned witch quickly walked towards them and looked at Elena, “I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you that I invited her. Is that okay?”
Slightly rolling her eyes, Elena nodded her head and looked towards the vampire, “yeah, sure, come in.”
Smirking, Jasmine set one foot in before fully entering the house, “thank you.”
All four girls stood in the living room, settling their stuff on the couch when a knock was heard. Elena quickly dropped her stuff and opened the door to reveal Stefan. Jasmine smugly walked behind Elena and looked at her word-breaking best friend.
“Well, well, well. Can’t say I’m surprised Stefan.” He looked at her with his eyebrows furrowed. He opened his mouth to question her presence there, but Elena slightly pushed herself in front of the smirking vampire, blocking his view.
Jasmine rolled her eyes when she saw Elena gently place her hand on Stefan’s chest, slightly pushing him outside.
“This is a private conversation.” The doppelganger sneered before closing the door behind her.
“Thanks for coming. I wouldn’t have called if it wasn’t important.”
“I know that.”
Jasmine found the conversation after that boring so she returned to the kitchen. The blonde girl and Bonnie were awkwardly placing some snacks out onto the counter, both refusing to look at each other.
“What’s up with you two?”
“None of your business.” The blonde definitely had some fire to her, but every fire can be extinguished.
Before Jasmine could do anything, Bonnie quickly spoke up, “she’s mad at me for not giving her the necklace.”
“Wait, why do you want the necklace?”
The blonde huffed and looked at the meddling vampire, “because a shit of an ex-boyfriend gave it to me and I want to have the satisfaction of throwing it in his face.”
“You’re Caroline.”
“How do you know who I am?”
Popping a chip in her mouth, Jasmine smiled at her, not answering her. Caroline stood there still waiting for an answer and rolling her eyes when she didn’t get one.
“So, Bon-Bon, is it cool if I call you that? Anyways, when are we going to start this—”
Bonnie quickly widened her eyes and shook her head, casting glances at her blonde friend. Jasmine understood her ‘subtle’ hint that Caroline had no idea about the necklace and shrugged.
The door soon after opened and Elena walked into the kitchen and pulled a paper bag out of the refrigerator. Bonnie and Caroline helped her put out some plates and napkins, still in the awkward silence.
Groaning, the vampire looked at them, “someone do something. This silence is excruciating painful.”
The doppelganger scoffed at her before mumbling, “you aren’t even wanted here, so just leave.”
“I’m sorry. There I said it.” Caroline looked at the witch sarcastically, “if you want the ugly ass necklace, keep it. It’s yours.”
“Would you hate me if I told you I gave it away to someone?”
The blonde looked at her and tilted her head, “why didn’t you just give it back to me?”
Elena scoffed and looked at her friend, “why? So, you can give it to Damon?”
Caroline looked at them before sighing, “screw Damon. Are we going to do manicures or what? Who has their kit?”
Bonnie smiled at her before gesturing to their stuff on the couch, “mine’s in my bag.”
“Speaking of ‘screw Damon’, Caroline, was he good in the sack? I know he has this little trick that he does with his—”
Elena glared at her and looked at her disgusted, “we don’t want to know about your—”
“Careful what you say next, love.” Jasmine stared menacingly at the arrogant human, causing her to step back. Smirking, Jasmine took Elena’s container of food and sat down at the table, opening it.
“So, Elena… how long do you think this fight with Stefan’s gonna last? Is it like a permanent thing?” Caroline’s small hopeful question didn’t go unnoticed by her friends or the vampire.
With a mouth full of food, Jasmine looked up towards the ceiling “God, I hope so. She’s infuriating.”
Ignoring the vampire, Elena rolled her eyes at her friend, “I don’t know, Caroline.”
A scoff was heard before the blonde looked at her friends with a look of betrayal, “why are you such a little liar, Bonnie?”
“What?”
“Caroline.”
In her hand was the crystal necklace that tormented Bonnie. Jasmine quickly patted her jacket pockets, swearing the necklace was last there, before coming up empty handed.
Caroline walked towards them and threw the necklace onto the counter, arms crossing, waiting for an explanation.
“I’m not lying, Caroline, I swear.”
Jasmine stood up and joined the trio, “it’s true. She gave it to me.”
Elena looked between the vampire and the witch with a judgmental look, “wait… you two are working together?”
“Surprise, bitch.”
Caroline threw her arms into the air and looked at her friend, “well, then explain it to me, then, Bonnie.”
The witch simply looked at Jasmine with her eyes wide, “Emily?”
With of a roll of her eyes and a nod, Jasmine looked at her, “obviously.”
Completely oblivious to what was going on, Caroline looked between the three of them, “who’s Emily?”
“The ghost.”
Mockingly, Caroline glanced at the vampire, “the ghost has a name now?”
Elena held her hand up to silence Caroline, “Caroline, please.”
Bonnie looked towards Jasmine, fear evident in her eyes, “why won’t she leave me alone?”
“That’s why I’m here, Bonnie. We’ll figure it out.”
Caroline, completely confused, glared at her friends, “what is going on? Why am I not part of this conversation? You guys do this to me all the time.”
Elena looked towards her overdramatic blonde friend, “that’s not true.”
“Yes, it is.” Bonnie looked at Caroline, “I can’t talk to you, you don’t listen.”
“That’s not true!”
Bonnie took a deep breath before spilling her number one secret, “I’m a witch.”
“And don’t we all know it?” Caroline tilted her head and sarcastically smirked at her.
“See, that’s what I’m talking about. I’m trying to tell you something and you don’t even hear it.” Shaking her head, Bonnie stormed out of the kitchen.
Caroline looked offended before turning towards Elena, “I listen! When do I not listen?”
“Um, now?”
“No one really asked for your opinion, Jasmine. So stop with the commentary.”
Jasmine, having had enough of the annoying doppelganger, looked at Caroline and compelled her, “go apologize to Bonnie and tell her that even though you don’t believe in it, you believe in her, okay? Go.”
Caroline walked out of the room and went to go find Bonnie. Elena scoffed and glared at her, “you can’t just do that to her! What the hell is your problem?”
Jasmine sped towards her and slammed her against the wall. She grabbed her by the neck and tightened her hold while Elena gasped for air.
“I’m getting really tired of your attitude, Elena. The only thing that’s keeping me from killing you is the fact that you somehow have Stefan wrapped around your finger.” She leaned in close to the struggling doppelganger and slowly whispered, “so, the second he says he is done with you, I will personally rip your heart out of your chest.”
She released her hold and Elena fell to the floor violently coughing. Jasmine squatted beside her and grabbed her by her chin, “do we understand each other, sweetheart?”
Elena glared at her, but nodded, “good.” Standing up, Jasmine smiled down at her, “I think they should be friends again now, don’t you think?”
Jasmine walked towards where the pair was while Elena tried to gather herself, “well, how did it go?”
Caroline smiled at her and then at Bonnie, “good, we’re good.”
“Great! Well, there’s too much drama for my liking, so, Bonnie, whenever you’re ready.”
Bonnie nodded her head and then looked around, noticing Elena’s absence, “wait, where’s Elena?”
Jasmine smirked and pointed towards the kitchen, “cleaning up the mess she made. She’ll be joining us shortly. Shall we?”

“What are we doing?”
Four candles were set in the center of the four while Jasmine made Bonnie hold the talisman in her hands. Contacting Emily wasn’t going to be easy, but if Damon wanted the crystal so desperately, she needed to know why.
“We, my clueless human, are going to contact Emily.”
“And how will that work?”
Sighing, she looked at the trio, “I will perform a spell, oh yeah, I’m a witch, too. Forgot to mention that, anyways, I’ll perform a spell that will allow me to seek her out from the Other Side. Emily will then maybe…might… definitely possess Bonnie, so she can interact with us here on the physical plane.”
Caroline looked like she was about to burst out laughing as she looked at the vampire. Rolling her eyes, Jasmine looked towards Bonnie, “I forgot the matches, mind getting them?”
Once Bonnie was out of sight, Jasmine grabbed Caroline’s shoulders and, once again, compelled her, “just go along with it and don’t ask any more questions.”
Bonnie returned and sat back in her previous spot, handing Jasmine the matches. She lit the candles and then looked towards Bonnie, who looked petrified, “it’s okay, Bonnie. She’s not gonna do anything to harm you, she just wants to deliver a message, okay?”
Elena was about to speak before Jasmine silenced her with a glare.
“Okay, Emily. Don’t back out on me this time.” Closing her eyes, she began the spell, “phesmatos manex, un domo hax, fero adiuvex.”
The candles flared up and the window blew wide open, causing the three girls to stand in fright. Bonnie threw the necklace into the middle, “Nope, I can’t. I’m done.”
The candles went out and Bonnie began to panic, “get the light! Please, get the light!”
Elena quickly turned on her bedroom lights as her friends were breathing heavily, scared out of their minds. Bonnie looked to the ground and widened her eyes, “you guys, the necklace is gone.”
“Where is it, Jasmine?”
With a shrug, Jasmine looked at the accusatory doppelganger, “Emily probably has it.”
“Does that mean the spell worked?” Bonnie held her hands against her chest and looked at the bored vampire.
“Most likely. We’ll find out soon enough.”
