ONE.
A young man was soundly sleeping on a chair, just finished reading a book that he had read many times before. He woke up startled when the sound of glass breaking and the laughter of a woman rang across the room.
Hesitantly, he got up and called out for his mischievous older brother, but didn't get a response. He was thrown to the floor by a speeding figure, causing him to quickly stand up and become alert. His stance was soon loosened when the figure pinned him to the floor, preparing to attack.
"Lexi?"
Lexi smiled brightly at his surprised face, "hi."
"What are you doing here?"
Rolling her eyes, she stood up and offered him a hand which he took, "how could you even ask me that?"
The pair laughed as they embraced, glad to be in each other's presence once more, "I missed you."
Pulling back, she smirked at the young man, "happy birthday."
Before they could utter another word, a second figure sped past them and settled themselves on the couch. The young man quickly turned to face the unexpected visitor, only to be surprised once more at who he saw.
A young woman sat down with a glass of bourbon in her hand, a small smirk adorning her red lips. Her raven-haired tresses fell to the middle of her abdomen, shining when the fire's light bounced on it. She was dressed head to toe in black clothing: a leather jacket, crop top, ripped skinny jeans, and high heels. She has never looked better, the 21st century definitely suited her. She tilted her head, squinting her vibrant blue-green eyes at the gaping young man who hadn't made a sound yet.
"Good to see you, too, Stefan." The black haired beauty stood up and embraced him. Stefan instantly held her tight against him, not believing she was there. The smile on his face never leaving even if he wanted it to, which he didn't.
"Jasmine." The simple name flawlessly fell off his lips, as if savoring it. The trio stood there, smiling at their little group finally being together again.

They all sprawled themselves on Stefan's bed, talking about the young vampire's very eventful couple weeks.
Pushing Stefan's hands away from herself, Lexi laughed, "stop! I don't know! Some freak shot at me with wooden bullets, I'd bail in under sixty."
Jasmine, who hadn't stopped laughing at her friend's misfortune, quickly sat up, "wait, why is a news reporter hunting vampires? How does that happen?"
Shrugging, Stefan looked at the pair, amused, "I don't know who knows about us. That guy certainly did, there could be others." Jasmine's mind quickly went back to a time where a group of humans had known about vampires and took it upon themselves to 'take care of the situation.' She lost a handful of friends that night and so did Stefan.
Stefan's expression quickly turned serious as he looked at his two best friends. Holding their hands, he spoke softly, "do me a favor while you're both here? Please, be careful."
Jasmine simply rolled her eyes at her best friend's over protectiveness, especially when he was fully aware that she could take care of herself. Nonetheless, she nodded her head while Lexi groaned.
"Why stay? I'm headed for New York for the weekend."
Jasmine's eyes widened as she looked at her, "Bon Jovi in the Garden?"
Lexi nodded her head vigorously as Stefan raised his fist in the air, "'Wanted Dead or Alive', it's our theme song!"
The eldest vampire looked towards a smiling Stefan, hoping he'd take the invitation, "come on, Stefan! It'll be a blast!"
He looked at the pair that now stood in front of him, "do you think he would actually remember us? It was a pretty crazy weekend, huh?"
The trio laughed as they reminisced their last encounter with Bon Jovi himself. Lexi twirled Jasmine around as she pointed to Stefan, "we can make him remember us."
The youngest vampire shook his head as he continued to slip his shoes on. Lexi rolled her eyes, exasperated, "come on! Let's go! I mean, what's keeping you here?"
Jasmine stopped twirling, eyes wide with amusement as she looked back to them, "oh, i know this one!" The two girls continued to make kissing noises, mockingly calling out, "Elena!"
Stefan rolled his eyes at his immature friends as they doubled over in laughter. Lexi turned towards Stefan's desk coming across a picture with the words Katherine Pierce and the date 1864 written across the bottom.
"Let's hope she's better than the last girl you got all sprung over." She held up the photo while Jasmine remembered the slightly less than terrible things that girl had done to her two friends.
Stefan smiled and walked over to her, taking the photo away from her grasp and settling it back onto his desk, "you didn't even know Katherine."
"'Cause if I did, I'd kick her ass. Little bitch."
Jasmine sat back down on the bed, laughing at Lexi's response. One of the things she admired about Lexi was her compassion towards her friends. It was something Jasmine thought she herself needed to work on.
"Speaking of... where's Damon?"
At the mention of his older brother, Stefan rolled his eyes and settled back down next to Jasmine, "inflicting misery somewhere."
"Back to hating each other, I see." Jasmine was hoping things between the Salvatore brothers would have settled when she arrived. She loved them both and she hated when they fought, knowing they hated it, too. They were the only family they had left, so, of course they meant so much to each other.
Stefan nodded, but turned his attention back to the blonde girl, "are you gonna be okay here alone? 'Cause I've got some things I've got to take care of."
Lexi looked confused for a moment before she realized he didn't know, "I can go out in the sun now, Stefan. You, Jasmine, and Damon aren't the only ones with those nifty little daylight rings."
Jasmine laughed as she recalled to her confused friend how she was bribed into making a daylight ring for the blonde vampire.
"Come on, Jas!" Lexi rolled around on the bed until the girl pushed her off of it, laughing when she heard a thud.
"Lexi, you can't go out during the day or did you forget?" Jasmine waved her hand around, showcasing the daylight ring that was nestled upon her middle finger. Lexi groaned and then quickly stood up, facing her amused friend.
"I have a mood ring from '75! Trade ya?" Jasmine's laugh echoed around the room, causing the blonde to smile brightly.
"It doesn't work that way and you know it."
"Yeah. Hey, if you hook me up with a daylight ring, I'll grant you one wish on your birthday each year. No limitations."
Jasmine could never say no to her, so she agreed. She gathered what she needed and performed the spell. She tossed it to her excited friend who caught it with ease.
"Don't lose it, Alexia, it's the only one you're getting." Lexi embraced her friend tightly and kissed her cheek.
"You're the best, Jasmine!"
Stefan smiled as he stood, "hey guys?"
The girls quit playfully pushing each other and looked towards him. Smiling, always smiling, "yeah?"
"I'm really glad you're here."
Lexi pushed him gently, "what are we doing for your birthday? It's not every day a guy turns 162 years old!"
Stefan groaned and looked at them, exasperated, "really?"
Jasmine smiled widely and hooked her arm through his, escorting him downstairs, "oh yeah, grandpa."
