Stefan slammed the door shut as he followed Damon into the Boarding House. He couldn't fathom why his brother could give up so easily when it was their fault that Jasmine had been taken. After Francis and his band of psychopaths carried Jasmine away, Stefan worked tirelessly to find her and after four excruciatingly long days later, an answer was thrown at them in the form of Elijah and his witches. Jonas and Luka were able to astral project themselves to Jasmine's location and found out that she was being kept in town underneath a rundown building. But now with this new information, Damon thought his help was needed elsewhere instead of with Stefan. Which, of course, infuriated the younger Salvatore brother to no ends.
"We know where she is, Damon! Why won't you help me?"
Damon slammed his glass of bourbon on the table and scoffed at Stefan, "because, Stefan! If we storm into a vengeful coven filled building with just the two of us, then we're done for! So, unless you have a solid plan then I'm sticking to my own plans for tonight."
It was Stefan's turn to scoff as he placed his hands on his hips, "oh, you mean your solid plan that involves killing an Original?"
"I have solid intel that actually backs my plan."
"When did you start believing the words that come out of Katherine's mouth?"
The look of irritation was prominent in Damon's features as he stared at his stubborn brother, "sorry, brother, but you're going to have to find another partner in crime for this fiasco."
Stefan clenched his fists and rolled his eyes while Damon gathered his jacket and headed upstairs to his bedroom to prepare for tonight's dinner. Having no one in your corner sucked and Stefan was beginning to figure out how Jasmine had felt the past couple of months and it was not an easy realization. Stefan counted the people who would maybe help him and the only people that are available were Elijah and Alethea. Running his hand down his face, Stefan knew he'd have to suck up his hatred in order to find his best friend.
While Stefan found the strength to call Alethea and Elijah, just on the other side of town was a weak and disoriented, tied up Jasmine. Her head lulled to the side as her wrists were bound above her with vervain ropes connected to the ceiling. Her legs were both bound the same way but on the floor. An IV bag connected to her arm flowed a liquid concoction containing magic muting herbs into her bloodstream. And as her body and abilities were weakened and tired, her brain was set into a frenzy.
It tried deciphering what was real and what was not. If the person bound next to her was who she thought it was or it was a figure she made up to make loneliness an unknown feeling. Switching between eras and accents and dialects, her brain was overworking itself to make sense of her nonsense.
The door to the dimly lit room opened and Jasmine could hear the calculated steps the person took towards her as the sound bounced within the walls. A small groan left her lips when the ropes on her wrists were tightened even more. A pitiful sigh and a scoff was then heard as she felt the cold ring on the person's hand drag down her cheek.
"It's a pity Francis is keeping you alive for his experiment. I would like nothing more than to drive my stake into your cold and murderous heart."
"That's enough, Antoine. I don't recall giving you permission to enter this room." The man—Antoine—stuttered out a reply but Jasmine figured he was silenced by Francis as the coven leader continued on, "disobey me again and I won't hesitate to rip that ring off your finger. Understood?"
"Yes, Francis. I apologize."
The predatory and calculated steps turned into quick and submissive ones as Antoine hurried out of the room to break away from Francis' death glare. Jasmine's lips formed a wobbly smirk as she forced herself to look up at Francis.
"Zní to, jako byste si měli utáhnout vodítko na svých domácích mazlíčcích."
Francis exhaled through his nose in amusement before stuffing his hands into his slacks. It was amusing to see the foretold mighty Jasmine Saunders attempt to joke around while her life was literally in his hands. His cards were folding exactly as he wanted them but before he could finish the deal, he received a wake up call. Well, it was more of a rude awakening courtesy of his lovely ancestors.
While Francis was almost satisfied by how Jasmine was being outcast and weakened, they wanted more. They wanted Klaus Mikaelson to finally make an appearance and then—only then—can Francis finish the job. Once two of the Original family is in place, he will be able to drive a stake through Jasmine's heart. And since she is linked to the parasites in town, Elijah and Klaus will both die, too. Thus, ending two out of five vampire lines.
But for now, Francis needed to see how far he can get his connection to go.
"Pretty language. Too bad I didn't understand a single word you said."
Jasmine's smirk dropped as her eye line whirled back and forth between the wall and the smug witch. "Nemôžete si odo mňa vziať Elizabeth," she seethed out as she tried to move her wrists, which did nothing but make her hiss in pain.
Francis shook his head in mock pity and clicked his tongue, "I honestly don't know what you're saying." He chuckled as he made his way next to her, "do you know what she's saying?"
"Go to hell."
Jasmine's ears perked at the sound of the voice next to her. To say she was relieved that the figure next to her was actually real was an understatement. Though she couldn't place a face to the voice, she was relieved that the person was in the same boat as she was—misery did love company.
"That's not very nice to say. Especially considering I'm the reason you don't have a stake in your heart. A little gratitude is appreciated."
"You should've let your puppets kill me because when this is over, you're gonna regret ever crossing me."
Jasmine strained her chaotic mind to place the face but she only grew frustrated when she was thrown into another memory. This one was back in 1881, Romania. She picked up a glass of wine from the servant's tray and made her way to the pair being congratulated. But before she could advance further, she felt a tug on both her arms. Without needing to see who it was, Jasmine sighed playfully and withdrew her arms to face them.
"What is it now?"
If she wasn't so concerned about his well-being, Jasmine was sure she would have laughed at Stefan's expression. He looked around suspiciously—something Jasmine told him to not do specifically as it would most likely draw attention—before he leaned towards her and whispered, "I don't think I can do this. I know I don't have to say anything, but what if my face reveals ulterior motives?"
"It will not, Stefan. And if it does then I will simply say that your face looks contorted because of your blocked bowels." Jasmine let out a laugh as his jaw dropped.
"He's just nervous because it's only been a month since he weaned off of human blood." Lexi smiled warmly at Stefan before looping her arm through his, "don't worry, Stef. Jasmine has this all handled. Why don't we go take a walk through their garden, hm?"
Giving them an encouraging push towards the doors, Jasmine finally resumed her walk to the front of the room and towards the front of the small gathered crowd. Grabbing the attention of one of the guards, Jasmine was able to get past the other guards to get to the couple.
"Scuzati-ma?" Once they turned around to acknowledge her, Jasmine quickly but gracefully dipped into a curtsey and smiled at them. "Este o mare onoare să vă cunosc. Sunt Jasmine Saunders."
"Multumesc ca ati venit. Putem face ceva pentru tine?"
Jasmine smiled warmly at them before nodding, "Sunt aici în numele lui Klaus Mikaelson."
Once the name Klaus left Jasmine's lips, newly appointed King Carol I and Queen Consort Elisabeth glanced at each other with a knowing look in their eyes. Leaning over to whisper to one of the guards, the King drew out his arm, gesturing for Jasmine to follow them somewhere more private.
After a lengthy conversation and the resisted urge to compel the pair, Jasmine finally came to a deal with the new Roman Royal family. She left the room with a satisfied grin and an urge to celebrate with her friends, and the party atmosphere surely fueled that flame. Looking for Stefan and Lexi, Jasmine's demeanor changed when she heard a collective of mutters and the sound of glass breaking.
"Ce se intampla afara?"
Using her enhanced hearing to figure out if it was her friends, she concluded it was when she could distinguish Stefan's stutters of misunderstandings. Taking long strides, Jasmine quickly appeared in front of the pair. Stefan was holding Lexi back as she seethed at a very drunk party guest. Not wanting it to escalate any further, Jasmine stepped in between them and began to try to solve the conflict.
"Alexia, what—"
Jasmine's peacemaking was interrupted by the man's slurring words directed at Lexi, "curvă!"
Lexi's already angered face began to slowly transform as she took a step towards the man, "go to hell!"
Jasmine suddenly felt dizzy as the memory swirled around her as if she were on a high speed carousel. Romanian words mingled with American words and she wasn't sure which one she was currently hearing, but that didn't matter for a split moment because for once, her memories proved to be of some use. The siphoner tried to lift her suddenly heavy head to at least lull it to the side to see the figure next to her. Through her vision's refocusing, she could finally distinguish the blonde hair that she now knew belonged to her friend, who was supposed to had left weeks ago.
A small tranced smile settled on Jasmine's lips as she looked at her and whispered, "Alexia."
