LATE NIGHT HANGOUTS

Stefan groaned when he saw Jasmine's choice of movie. They've already seen it multiple times since it had been released on DVD and quite frankly, Stefan was growing bored with it.

"Jas, can you please put another movie?"

Jasmine stopped her movements and turned to look at him, "do you want an aneurysm?" When he shook his head, confused, Jasmine sent him a tight lip smile, "alright then. I suggest you not say that again."

She walked back to the bed and sat next to him. Piles of snacks, drinks, and sweets surrounded them. Movie night was a sort of thing they started doing back in the nineties and it has yet to disband.

Halfway through the movie, Stefan pulled out his phone and began texting Elena, much to Jasmine's dismay. She grabbed his phone and tossed it to the other end of the bed and glared at him.

"That's rude."

Knowing there was no other way out of seeing this movie, Stefan began paying attention to the teenagers breaking into song as if it was totally normal. He turned his gaze towards Jasmine and smiled when he saw her mouthing the words. It had been a rollercoaster of emotions for her the past couple weeks and he was happy that she had this moment to truly enjoy herself. So, with that in mind, Stefan relaxed into the bed, opened a bag of chips, and sang along with Jasmine.

It was nights like these that made all the stress and chaos worth pushing through. Knowing there were better days and fun times waiting for them made it bearable.

Jasmine let Stefan pick the next movie and burst out laughing when he put in the sequel to the movie they were watching.

"Hey, if we're gonna see the first one, then we have to watch the other two."

Throwing a popcorn into her mouth, Jasmine grinned, "truer words have never been spoken."

The rest of the night and the majority of the morning was the same. Laughter and terrible singing echoed throughout the boarding house as they kept to their musical pattern. When Damon finally went to go check on them, they were both sleeping against each other with food splayed everywhere and the TV still blasting "singing in the rain."
