Chapter 14

Will

I was waiting for Hannah as she changed into casual clothes inside a porta-potty when I couldn't help but smile. So far so great. This date was going better than I had imagined and she's just amazing, she just knows how to make a person smile and she's confident around you when she gets to know you. Truth is, I was falling head over heels in love with her and I don't think she even knows.

I watched the porta potty door as she came out. Every single time, she looked breathtaking whenever she comes out and she still managed to look so damn hot even as she came out of a porta potty. Nobody else could've done that.

I carried a plastic bag containing our meal - well, mostly mine - as we headed to the bay area and she glanced at the night market we've left behind. "So you go here a lot?"

"Yeah." I answered. "I love buying stuff, it makes me feel like I've been doing good." She looked at me questioningly and I provided an answer. "All my life I lived off my father's money and I feel secured whenever I buy something from my own money, it makes me feel like I really can do it by myself and I don't need my father."

"You and your dad don't really get along, huh?"

"No, actually. He's always hated me and it intensified after my big brother died. I guess he's disappointed I was the one who survived because he doesn't have a successor anymore."

"But I thought you were the perfect son - from your stories before?"

"No, I tried and tried to be but it's still my brother who wins that title. That's why I stopped trying." I never expected myself to open up that fast to her but damn, I just knew I could trust her. "Anyway, let's not turn this into a sob story.. I have a question though.. Do you think I can spend my lifetime as a model?"

She smirked. "Hey, don't think that far, models only look hot in their twenties then they're off my radar. Unless you're David Beckham cause that dude won't ever get old."

I laughed wholeheartedly. "I gotta find myself a career then?"

"Yeah you do, or you can just stay hot." She blurted out then blushed after realizing what she just said.

I decided for her benefit to just let her think that I didn't hear it and just marked her words in my brain.

"Would you still date me though, if I stay a model?" I ask honestly.

"Why not? I enjoyed watching you earlier and you seem to like you're enjoying it as well so why wouldn't I?"

This is the first real talk we've had about our relationship and I like where it's heading.

"So you won't care if I'm not some big businessman or something?"

"Unless you want that, it's okay." She said with a shrug. "I mean, do whatever makes you happy." She then gives me a playful smile. "What is this about, all these questions?"

I grinned at her. "Well, I'm planning on keeping you forever so I have to get to know you a little better."

"Is that so? Then why ask me all these now if you have forever on your side?" She asked teasingly.

I stared at her for a moment and forgot what she just said and then told her honesty, "I'm gonna kiss you. Right now."

She didn't reply, she just held onto my gaze as I leaned in towards her and finally closed my eyes as we kissed. This kiss felt different, it wasn't a spur of the moment kind of kiss, it's as if we didn't just share a kiss but a part of ourselves as well. It's the first I've felt this and I wonder if she felt it too.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked dumbly and she laughed.

"Woah there, bad boy. You can't ask a girl that on a first date!" She exclaimed laughing a little bit.

"Well, I haven't really dated since forever so... I don't know the rules and regulations.." I said trying to cover up my dumb move. "So, when do you think you'd start considering to go exclusive with me then?"

She pretends to think for awhile and then replies in a teasing tone. "After the tenth date, maybe."

"That long?" I asked surprised and she raised a brow. Doesn't take me that long to get girls. Well, girls unlike her, anyway.

I know I can wait and I know I will. I smiled at her knowing that she doesn't expect me to last long.

"Well, in the mean time, I'll settle with your kisses." I teased. As I leaned towards her, she backed away.

"Who said I'd give it?"

I groaned. "I'll just steal it then, when you least expect it." I say with a mischievous smile.

"Good luck with that." She said.

I looked at her and bit my lip, I had a question that's been bothering me for awhile now. "I've been wondering.. What happened between you and that Clint guy?"

She cringed when I said the dude's name but she answered nonetheless. "He was my first boyfriend and so far the only one.. We've dated for three years and he cheated on me. I don't know his reasons but whenever I look back on those times that he did, I guess I was making him miserable. I just lost my parents and I guess I was being hard on him -"

I shook my head, cutting her off. "You can't justify that Hannah. If he wanted out, he should've told you and he didn't so you can't really try and blame it on yourself."

"I know that but.. I don't know, I just think I did play a part in that. I mean, would you break up with a girl that had just lost her parents?"

"No but I wouldn't cheat on her either." I said with a shrug.

She looked sad about it and I couldn't help but wonder why. I leaned into her and kissed her, the moment seemed perfect and it honestly was. The kiss felt like a start of something new, it wasn't fast and it wasn't forceful, it was just slow and sweet and we were synchronized. I smiled when it was over because I haven't kissed her much but all of it topped my best kisses.

She was blushing when she looked at me. "How many girlfriends have you had?"

I laughed. I didn't expect her to ask that. "I've had two. But that was long ago, back in college.. when Dane and Harry had just met, I had a girlfriend actually, she was my second."

"What happened?"

"Well, you know, I turned into this and she didn't want that." I shrugged, like that didn't bother me years ago. "You know, Harry stuck with me just because we've known each other for so long. I'd bet he'd have left me if we weren't best friends."

Suddenly changing the topic, I asked, "Have you ever dated around? I mean, after your break up?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I've been set up a couple of times but they're all assholes."

"What made me the different kind of asshole?" I asked with a smirk.

"Well, you know my brother so it's a little bit harder to get rid of you." She joked and I couldn't help but laugh.

Hannah

For the past two weeks, Will had asked me out every single day and so far we've been on six dates, I think he's holding onto my 'tenth date' conclusion that I'd go exclusive with him. I think he forgot the part where I said, 'maybe.' But honestly, I didn't want to rush into things, I want to get to know him well enough to say yes. Anyway, today would've been our tenth date if I hadn't cancelled on few occasions.

I was smiling as my friends and I walked out of the school's main gate. "You know, I think this girl's in love." Elle said, frowning at me as if she's studying a science experiment.

I glared at her. How can she even mention that? I refuse to agree.

They all laughed at me and they started talking about me and Will and how we've been acting for the past weeks. I'd say we've been definitely acting in love.

I saw Will, leaning back on his motorcycle at his usual spot. He looked serious and had his arms crossed as if he's trying so hard not to get pissed and I noticed for the first time that he was talking to someone. I looked a little clearly and realized it's Clint.

"What the hell?" I bid my friends goodbye and I heard them talk about 'fighting' and 'Will and Clint' and 'love triangle' as I walked away from them.

The moment I got to Clint, Will gave me a kiss, as if Clint wasn't there. I couldn't help the butterflies that followed. Ever since that moment back at our first date, we've been kissing a lot. He kissed my nose lastly and then smiled happily.

"Your friend here's just leaving." He said and suddenly looked at Clint.

I glared at the doof, he somehow always manage to ruin a perfectly good day.

Clint rolled his eyes and left, looking defeated. Defeated in what, I don't know.

"What did he want?" I asked as I got onto his bike. I'm still not fond of riding the thing but it's warming up to me.

"I'll tell you later, right now we have to get to our date." He said and started the engine.

The place we parked in front of looked fancy and my mouth couldn't help but drop. "You're gonna catch a fly." Will joked.

I rolled my eyes. "What are we doing here?"

"Well, a friend asked me for a favor and he said, he wanted to do something for his girl and he wanted the girl's best friend to be there but he also didn't want her to feel left out so he asked me to go here with you."

I thought about it a little. "Wait, what?"

He laughed. "Matt's gonna do something crazy and he wants you to witness it."

My eyes widened. First of all, I didn't know they had contact and second, WHAT? "Are you telling me he's gonna propose to her?"

Will laughed harder. "Well, something along the sorts."

"Is he out of his mind?"

"Probably but I wasn't supposed to tell you so please don't spoil it for her."

It took time to make Will believe that I honestly won't utter a word about it and when he was finally satisfied with my statemdnt, we entered the restaurant.

I guess I kinda understand where Matt is coming from. For the first time in all of Mitch's supposed arranged marriage, his dad actually found a guy to marry her with. It's creepy and if you have a boyfriend, why would you go along with that stupid idea your father has?

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Mitch sitting in one of the tables. I separated from the group first, how did she get here faster than me?

She smiled nervously. "I'm guessing you're part of the surprise?" She asked.

I snorted. "Nope, we're just here to witness it with you. Moral support, maybe. Where is he?"

Mitch shrugged. "He said he's going to the bathroom."

"How long's he been in there?"

"Few minutes." As soon as she said it, her eyes widened. At first I thought it finally dawned on her what's going on but then she said, "Holy shit." I'm assuming that's not what she'd say.

I turned to look at where she was looking and found her dad.

"Shit." I agreed.

"What are we looking at?" Will asked.

"Mitch's dad is here." I've told him before about what's up with Matt and Mitch's relationship so he's completely aware with what that means.

"Imma tell Matt to stay in the comfort room then?" He asked and I nodded.

Will started to stand up and Mitch rolled her eyes. "God, why does this always happen?"

"Maybe it was a bad idea for Matt to pick this restaurant, he does now it's on your dad's radar."

"He knows that, he just said doing it here would be special."

"Special and stupid." I told her.

"Babe." Matt said from behind us, right on cue. When I said stupid, the dude came out. What's he doing now? We both looked at him expectantly but Mitch looked so scared she was almost frozen. "Are you tired of this? I know you're scared of your dad but give me the permission and I'll go over to him right now and tell him."

Mitch gulped and was stunned for a second before she managed a little nod. I was surprised with that but the surprise didn't end there. Matt made his way to Mitch's dad.

Something bad's probably gonna go down.

Mitch's dad knew who Matt was and instantly cringed at the sight of him. I rolled my eyes. Asshole. Matt started talking and I held Mitch's hand to help her but she was so cold I looked at her. "Dude, you're too cold to be alive right now."

"It doesn't matter, I'm dead anyway."

Mr. Peyton's eyes widened and I had a good bet that Matt had just told him that he's dating the guy's daughter. If I wasn't scared about this as well, I'd be laughing my ass off. The look of terror in Mr. Peyton's eyes was priceless.

The scary eyes scanned the room and landed on Mitch. "Uh-oh." Mitch said under her breath and I gulped. The man was scary.

"Michelle Angelica Peyton, get in my car right now." Her dad said in an angry but hushed tone when he got to our table.

"Dad - " Mitch tried to say but his dad stared her down.

"In my car. Now. I do not need to hear anything from you."

Mitch couldn't fight back and looked miserably at Matt before she finally left and then her dad gave me a disappointed look and rushed out after Mitch.

"Fuck. I thought he'd have at least acted nice." Matt said, sitting on a chair.

"Her dad's probably gonna -"

Matt cut me off, millions of thoughts are probably running through his mind right now. It was a stupid move. "I should go after them, maybe explain further."

"Matt, no. Just get home and try to contact her with her other phone since her dad's probably gonna ground her for stupid reasons - I'll do the same."

Will and I left first but we hung around a mcdonald's chain before going home.

I wanted to be angry at Matt because I've known Mitch's dad for so long that I've gotten used to all his close-minded decisions. He's probably not just going to confiscate Mitch's stuff and ground her for life, he's probably going to ship her off some place as well. I'm going to lose my best friend because of a stupid idea but I couldn't get angry at Matt because I know that he's been struggling with all of it as well.

"What are you thinking of?" Will asked, looking at me carefully.

"Ugh. Just the stupid life Mitch has, she's probably gonna be forbidden to hang out with me." That won't do, she's my freaking best friend.

"Her dad would go that far?"

"Even farther, maybe."
