ISABELLA

I am greeted by the angry voices of Zach and Emma on entering the house.

"No, I am going to the store, I am elder and I have responsibility." Zach's stubborn voice comes.

"Oh nonsence, you just want to go in hopes to hit on some British girl. Besides, you don't even know how to choose the listed things properly, you got wheat flakes instead of corn flakes last time." Says Emma making a pretty fair point.

"Your point being?"

"There is a huge difference, wheat flakes are-"

"Stop fighting, I am going to the store and that's it." I say with finality entering the kitchen and successfully cutting off whatever Ems had to say about breakfast cereal. I agree with Zach, there's no difference between the two, but is rather stay quite than take sides.

I then notice that Sarah, during this big argument was peacefully seated on the kitchen island with an apple in hand. Sometimes I wonder how it feels to be deaf, no noise at all, completely at peace, calm and collected at all times. I can't help but wonder.

I grab my wallet and the list of necessities, shrug on my coat because it's now chilly and head out the door once again.

I can't help but feel something is missing, something really important.

I walk in my own little bubble, taking in the surrounding, my mind wanders back to yesterday night, the stranger who stole my first kiss and that's when it clicks. My phone, I dropped it in the alleyway, what if that guy has taken it!? It gives him more of a reas-

The world spins around me as I gracefully fall down.

Someone dashed into me and is now trying to walk around me. I get irritated and say, "You should at least have the decency to say sorry. Ugh."

Suddenly I get a flashback.

I was walking with a boy who looked around 8 years old. The boy next to me walked straight into some 4 year old boy on a tricycle, not bothering to say sorry or help him up again he walked around him thinking I was following.

"Toby, you should at least have the decency to say sorry." I said as he turned around to see that I was helping the boy up and trying to pick up the tricycle.

"I couldn't see him, now let's get going we have curfew," he said in a hurry.

"We are not leaving until you apologise to him. Look now he's crying because of you." I say in a worried tone and bend down to give him my ice cream so he feels better.

I feel his gaze on me as I try to soothe his cries and get up to catch his smile.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" I ask raising an eyebrow at him.

"Hey what's your name?" He asks the little boy.

"Mommy says Alex." He replies shyly.

"Well, Alex I am sorry I dashed into you, can you forgive me?" He asks putting in his best puppy face, no one can resist those.

The boy gives me a full grin and says, "okay, will you be my friend?" He asks still fumbling with the language.

"Of course, well both be your friends." I reply happily looking at Toby and then Alex.

From that day on they found out that he lives just a few houses over their house and visited him weekly, it was really easy to make a new friend and I promised to maintain that friendship forever.

I am completely confused, then I remember, the doctor had said that being in familiar area will help in regaining some or most if my memory, I guess it started.

I then look up to find the exact same eyes of the little boy in my flashback. Only, it was the same stranger from yesterday night, disgust fills me as I look up at him and get up on my own, glaring at him.

"You. You are the guy from yesterday." I say with disgust lacing my voice.

"I don't remember anything from yesterday." He replies trying to justify the accusation being thrown at him.

"Of course you don't, you were drunk out of your mind." I say glaring at him.

He looks confused for a second. Then I notice the phone in his hand, and my eyes widen in surprise. I start checking my coat pockets trying to find my phone but to no avail, then I remember, yesterday night.

"That's my phone, I must have dropped it yesterday." I say in a panic. If he knows my true identity then I might get in serious trouble. He'll, if any untrustworthy person knows about my true identity then our lives can be in danger.

"How do I know it's surely your phone?" He asks unsure of wether he should trust me or not. I control the urge to snort.

"Check the contact list, there must be an Emma, Zach, mom, dad and Leah." I say with confidence and in a hurry.

He checks the phone contacts, seeing that I was right he nodded his head.

"Now can you try explaining how I got your phone? My memory of yesterday night is a bit non-existent." He says trying a puppy face, I don't faze, only stare at him.

My expression doesn't even waver as I say, "I don't trust you, not after what you did yesterday, why don't you ask you dear friends?" I snap rudely and snatch away my phone from him, walking towards the house, I don't feel like going to the store anymore.

I enter the house to be greeted by 2 amused looking faces, Zach's face is confused while I throw Emma an expression that says 'ill talk to you later'.

I make my way to my room and plop down face first into my comfy bed. I look around my room to see the unpacked four boxes of my belongings, stashed up in the far corner.

My room is made of cool colours of grey, black and white, it somehow just describes my personality. I look out of my window to be greeted by directly the neighbours window, which is just again arm's length away from mine, I would surely like climbing in through the other's window just to try it once. The thought brings another thought in my mind as I think how the owner of that room would react with my weirdness. Probably get freaked out, pack his bags and shift to Venus for the rest of his life living as a lone alien. Or just simply put up with it like any other normal person.

Why am I getting so fixated on what the neighbour will think? I don't even know him/her!

'I have no idea about that one. I guess you'll just have to find out for yourself.'

Ohh! There you are! I was starting to think I got my sanity back for real.

'I am always here at the back of your mind silently influencing your decisions.'

You sound like one of those psycho manipulative mean ladies on soap operas.

'Oh shoot, I did sound like that, didn't I? And why won't you curse? They have a name called female dogs, use it sometime.'

You know how I feel about cursing, actually you also feel how I feel about cursing, don't you?

'Yeah yeah. You got me there, but what if I want to curse?'

It's not like you'll actually be able to do it without my permission.......

Where'd you go? Admitting defeat in the battle of words?

'Don't forget I am you missy.'

That's cute, you got my attitude and big ego.!

'Wow look at that, your mind is completely diverted from that jerk who reminded you of your deepest darkest fears.'

I buried my face into my pillows this time. Ugh thank you so much for reminding me, really, great job you did right there.

'Go shower, you stink.'

What? Where'd you think of that now......shoot i do stink, how'd you know that?

'I rest my case, your honour.'

Don't try being smug with me missy.

'Yeah yeah. I'm going back to the back of your mind now.'

Goodbye, it was nice talking to you.

'God you're so weird.'

I immediately get up and collect my clothes for my shower. I am about to step into the shower when I realise I have still not unpacked, I will get tired and sweaty after I am done,so why not bathe after I unpack?

I open the first box to find my all time favourite books, I pile them all along the zig zag patterned library right above my desk. Once I'm done I remove my laptop and plug it in for charging at the desk. Next two really large boxes held my clothes and accessories for my walk-in closet, most if which I never use. Then I remove the last and final box obtaining my old toys along with dozens of albums and photo frames, once I am done setting up my room, it finally looks more........welcoming.

With a satisfied smile I enter the bathroom with all the necessary stuff.

What I failed to notice was the boy staring at me from the neighbour's house from the room right across my window, shirtless, who now had complete knowledge of my hatred towards him.
