Rihanna's P.O.V.

I wake up to hear some old school music playing from the living room. One thing I've learned about living with Aug is he love his oldies and they were apart of his morning routine. After I brush my teeth and wash my face I walk down the hall to the living room;there I can here the music more clearly.

I heard the song sing out. I walked out into the living room to see August on the couch rolling up. You could smell an aroma from the kitchen so he must've cooked and the living was spotless so I'm assuming he just cleaned up.

"Honey, lets stop walkin' around and around and around

What's the sense of goin', goin' elsewhere?" August sung beautifully right before he licked the blunt and gave it observation as the song was going off.

"Sound good." I complimented sitting on the couch seat across from him as he looked on.

"Morning love,and thanks. " he said before taking a pull from the blunt.

"You good ?" I asked .

"I should be asking you that." He breathed out, leaning back.

"What do you mean."

" We'll discuss it over breakfast in a few, how about you choose a record to play. " He explained. I looked at him confused,but agreed nonetheless.

"Alrighty then." I got up going through all his oldies but Goldies and found something of my taste. I placed the record on the turntable and placed the needle on gently as the record spent.

" No pressure. No pressure, I know you're real. " I sung lightly making Aug look up at me through his slanted eyes.

"Hmmm." He said making me chuckle.

"What you doing with this in your collection?"

"What? Because I'm a hardcore nigga i can't listen to Jhene aiko." He snickered

" No and then again yeah, cause that shit would be weird if you was in here listening to some nigga begging his heart out to a female. " I laugh as he shook his head laughing.

"Come on, food ready." He said getting up. I turned off the music and walked over to the kitchen table where Aug was setting up the plates.

"Thank you." I said sitting down in the chair.

"Your welcome." He replied back sitting down as he reached out for my hand. I looked confused for a second. "Grace Rih." He said simply as I nodded. He bowed his head and closed his eyes. I guess he knew something was off because he opened his eyes and looked up at me.

"I'm sorry August. It's just that I've never really had no family dinner,breakfast or none of that before. So I don't know how to really say Grace." I explained as he took a deep breath.

"Aight rih. Bow your head and close your eyes and believe with your heart,your soul,Free your mind."

" Okay. " I breathed out.

"God is great, God is good, Let us thank him for our food. By his hands we all are fed. Give us lord. Our daily bread,Amen." He says.

" Amen. " I say about to lift my head up,but immediately drop back down when Aug start talking again.

"Lord God I thank for waking me up this morning in your undeniable presence. Thank you for protection and a roof over my head. Thank you for providing me with will and a way to keep surviving and thank you for the love ones I keep around me." He finished. When it was silent for a few seconds he shook my hand and I opened my eyes to see him looking up at me.

"Anything you wanna thank the Lord for?" August asked.

"Hey Aug I just wanna thank you again." I told him as I put plate in the sink

"No problem it was just sum pancakes,bacon and eggs nothin ta-"

" No I mean everything. " I say with a slight smile as he sighs.

"Look here rih. You was a good kid and a bad situation. I could relate ta that ya feel me. If dat mean opening my home up so you won't have ta deal wit da bullshit no mo so be it. I just hope you make da best out of it ya heard. I don't want you out here in these streets chasing niggas or selling pussy for dollars. I want you on yo shit no ifs ands or buts about it. You gon be something in life rih,not another statistic like me you gon make it out and dats on me." I hugged him tightly thanking him over and over again.

I've honestly never had someone just be real with me or give me words of encouragement or just actually believe I can be something.

"You know Aug you can be something too, you don't have to stay in these streets forever."

" Its all I know rih. " he sighed

"Try something new. I mean come on you gotta have a passion for something else." I suggested .

"I mean.." He started then sighed when there was a banging on the door.

"I'll get it." I told him getting up. The banging on the door continued so I rushed to the door.

"May I help you." I answered the door . It was two police officers and the one was ready to bang on the door again.

"Excuse me Miss this residency of August Alsina, correct? Is it by chance that he's home?" The officer asked as I studied his face and read his nametag.

"Who's asking?" Aug came up from behind . Before I knew it both of the officers charged in making me fall to the ground. As the darkskinned officer, officer Taylor pushed Aug up against the wall.

"August Anthony Alsina your under arrest! You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law in the state of New Orleans Louisiana."

"Wait officer!" I yelled, but they was hearing me.and was still putting the cuffs on him.

"You have the right to consult with a lawyer and have a lawyer present during questioning." Officer Taylor continued.

"What did he do!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

"If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you." Taylor finished.

"Just tell me what he did." I cried out , but they ignored me.

"Rih, call them." Was his last words before they pushed him out the door as I was still in the very same spot on the floor crying.

"I just want my niggas home"
