    "What?"

    "You're filing for custody?"

Taehyung sighs as he stands from the bed with Hanjae in his arm, bouncing the newborn as he paces the ground of his bedroom.

"It feels like the reasonable thing to do." He says looking down at Hanjae.

"I haven't even seen them since they've been out of the hospital, and you want to pull this shit?" Jeongguk asks angrily from the other line. "That's such bullshit, Taehyung. What the fuck?"

"You're right, you haven't seen them. You haven't even made an effort see them." Taehyung says matching the ravenette's tone. "That, and I don't feel comfortable with you being alone with them."

"I have made an effort. You just haven't answered any of my damn calls. And they're my kids too." Jeongguk says. "Why are you doing this?"

"Just show up to court. You can see them then." Taehyung says insensitively. "I have to go."

"Why are you being such an asshole?" Jeongguk groans, obviously trying not to lose his temper. "I can't believe you're seriously trying to take them away from me."

"I'm just trying to protect my kids, Jeongguk. I'm sorry it has to be this way." The brunette says. "It's not my fault."

"You're being so fucking unbelievable." Jeongguk sighs. "I just want to see my kids."

"Then you know what to do. Goodbye." Taehyung says taking the phone from his ear and ending the call.

"Who was that?" Seokjin asks walking in with Jaehyung. "You sounded upset."

"Jeongguk." Taehyung says sitting down on the edge of his bed. "He's upset about the custody hearing."

"Oh." Seokjin says sitting next to him as he tries to give Jaehyung his bottle. "Is your dad still coming?"

"Yeah. He's bringing my mom." Taehyung sighs. "She feels like she has the right to meet the boys since she's helping with the apartment."

"I'm sorry, Tae." Seokjin says looking up at the brunette. "I know she hurt your feelings the last time you saw her, but maybe she'll be different."

"I doubt it. She'll probably just rub it in my face that Jeongguk left and that I'm financially unstable." Taehyung says rolling his eyes. "She's going to think she was right."

"About what?"

"About me not being able to take care of them."

Seokjin sighs softly. Looking down at Jaehyung. "I think you've been doing a great job so far, Taehyung. You finished college, you're graduating soon, and you have job offers already lined up. Not many people can say that."

"I got those offers before I got pregnant. They might change their minds when they find out I have two newborns." Taehyung says pessimistically. "And I don't know how long I have before my mom convinces my dad to stop paying my bills."

"Don't be so negative, Taehyung. There are places all around Seoul looking to hire new school teachers." Seokjin says. "The program Saebin's in for homeschooling is hiring."

"I'm not being negative. Things are just hard for me right now." Taehyung says standing to put Hanjae down for his nap. "I'm trying to keep my head on straight. I'm just worried about everything. Constantly."

There's a knock on the front door. Making Taehyung sigh and roll his eyes.

"It's my parents." He says walking over and grabbing Jaehyung. "Thank you for coming over today, hyung. I know you don't have much time to yourself after work so it means a lot."

"It's not a problem, I'm happy to help out." Seokjin says standing and grabbing his phone. "Walk me out?"

"Yeah, of course." Taehyung smiles walking Seokjin to the door with Jaehyung in his arms. "I'll see you later. Tell Saebin I said hi."

"I will." He says opening the door to find Taehyung's parents there with two very different expressions. "Hello, Mr. Kim. Mrs. Kim."

"How are you, son?" Mr. Kim says holding a hand out to Seokjin.

"Good. Thanks for asking." Seokjin says shaking his hand. "I'm just leaving. It's nice to meet you guys."

"You too. Take care." Mr. Kim says waving at Seokjin before walking into the apartment.

Mrs. Kim doesn't spare Seokjin a glance as she walks into the apartment with a word.

"This must be...Hanjae?" Mr. Kim tries to guess as he holds his hands out for the baby.

"Jaehyung." Taehyung chuckles as he hands him over. "Hanjae just went down for a nap. He's a sleepy baby."

"Jaehyung, got it." Mr. Kim smiles as he looks down at the baby. "He looks just like you did when you were a baby."

Taehyung smiles at his dad as he watches him rock Jaehyung slightly. But his smile is gone as quick as it appeared when he sees the look on his mother's face.

"Let's sit down." He says walking over to the couch. "You guys probably have some questions for me."

"Who was that man leaving? Another boyfriend?" Mrs. Kim asks taking a seat next to her husband.

"No. He's just a friend." Taehyung answers. "He has a son. He's almost seven now."

"Oh, so he has a girlfriend?" Mrs. Kim asks, looking at Taehyung expectantly.

"No. He's dating Namjoon." Taehyung says. "And he carried his son like I carried Jaehyung and Hanjae."

"Hm." Mrs. Kim hums looking at Jaehyung. "And were they born with any abnormalities?"

"No. They were premature but they've outgrown most of their complications." Taehyung says, his mother's tone making him more offended than he should be. "Did you come here to look down at me from your high horse or did you come to meet your grandkids?"

"I have every right to ask these questions, Taehyung. You're my son, I'm allowed to know what's going on in your life." Mrs. Kim says. "As well as what's going on in the twins' lives."

"I don't think that's fair, mom." Taehyung says. "You're the one that said you didn't want any part of their life."

"Because I knew you'd end up in this position. Living off of us and raising these kids alone." Mrs. Kim exclaims. "You had options~"

"Are you seriously talking to me about an abortion while my kid is literally right here?" Taehyung snaps. "I made a decision, alright? And I decided that I wanted to keep them."

"And look at where you are now." Mrs. Kim says. "I'd hate to say I told you so."

"You're such a bitch." Taehyung says standing and taking Jaehyung from his dad.

"Can everyone just please relax. Getting excited isn't going to fix anything." Mr. Kim says turning to his wife. "Please, hon. He's our son. It's not worth damaging your relationship completely."

"I just want him to have a good life. One where he doesn't have to mooch off of us~"

"If you don't want to help me just say that."

"Stop, both of you! This is ridiculous!" Mr. Kim says standing. "Sit down, Taehyung. Now."

Taehyung sighs as he sits down. Looking down at Jaehyung as his dad continues.

"Honey, Taehyung is an adult. He's capable of making adult decisions. And as his parents we have to respect him." Mr. Kim says. "And he should be able to rely on us for support, and not just financially. He's trying to do the right things by being there for the twins, going to school, and finding a job."

Mrs. Kim looks off as if she doesn't want to hear what her husband has to say.

"And, Taehyung. I don't mind helping you. I want to help, we both want to help. For your sake and for the boys. But there will be boundaries when it comes to our generosity. And it's not to hurt you, it's to help you learn how to stand on your own two feet. And I know you're trying, we both recognize that." Mr. Kim continues after turning to Taehyung. "We love you and we want you to do well in life. And I believe that you will do well."

"Thank you, dad." Taehyung says, he genuinely did appreciate his fathers words.

"Being up in arms at each other over the past isn't going to do either of you any good." Mr. Kim says. "You need to talk. And you need to set aside your differences. One way or another. Got it?"

"Yes." Taehyung says in unison with his mom. Glancing at her before looking away.

"We're family. We're supposed to be there for each other. End of discussion." Mr. Kim says retaking his seat. "Now can we all just be civil?"

"Yes." Taehyung sighs looking down at Jaehyung. Smiling softly when he sees him looking back at him with wide, curious eyes.

He didn't care what anyone thought, he made the right decision.

~That night...~

    "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

Jeongguk sighs as he drops his bag by Minjun's front door. Reluctantly facing his brother...or who he thought was his brother.

"What do you want, Jihyuk?" He asks crossing his arms. "I'm not in the mood for any bullshit."

"I just wanna talk." Jihyuk says looking Jeongguk over. "Why are you back here?"

"It's none of your business." Jeongguk snaps. "You think you can just kidnap my son, threaten to kill him, and then walk back into my life like nothing happened?"

"I was pissed off. And scared~"

    "That's such bullshit~"

"I wouldn't have done anything to the kid." Jihyuk says. "How else was I gonna get you to fess up?"

"Screw you, Jihyuk." Jeongguk says turning to walk inside.

"Come on, Jeongguk. I'm sorry about the kid, alright?" Jihyuk says quickly. "I just want to talk."

"About what?" Jeongguk asks in annoyance. "What do you have to say to me."

"I just wanted to tell you that I didn't know. I really didn't." Jihyuk says. "They kept it from me too~"

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Jihyuk. I couldn't imagine how you must be feeling." Jeongguk says sarcastically, narrowing his eyes at Jihyuk.

"Don't be an asshole." Jihyuk frowns.

"I'm sorry if I'm being an asshole. I'm broke and homeless. Cut me some slack." Jeongguk says picking up his bag. "I'm tired. I'm going inside."

"Why are you staying here again?" Jihyuk asks stopping him. "With this douchebag."

"Minjun's my friend. And I've got no place else to go." Jeongguk says unlocking the door. "Are you finished?"

"I don't think it's good for you to be around these people again~"

"I can't believe you're seriously trying to tell me what's good for me, Jihyuk." Jeongguk says facing him. "You're so fucking ridiculous."

"I'm still your brother. I don't care if we have different blood." Jihyuk says. "I care about you, even if you think I don't."

"It's really hard to believe you give a shit."

"Well I do." Jihyuk snaps. "And I don't want to see you going down this road again. Just because you got some bad news."

"Bad news? I just found out I was raised in a horrible family that wasn't even my own." Jeongguk snaps back. "I don't know who the fuck I am, Jihyuk. How the fuck would you feel if you were me?"

    "I don't know~"

"Exactly. So please screw off." Jeongguk says angrily. "I'm just trying to get my life back on track. By myself, since I have no family. And Minjun's the only person I can rely on right now."

"Minjun's bad news." Jihyuk continues to stress. "You know he is."

    "Get lost, Jihyuk~"

"He's already bringing you down. You're stoned off your ass I can tell~

    "Screw off~"

"How do you expect to even get close to joint custody of you can't pass a drug test?"

"Get the fuck out of here, Jihyuk!" Jeongguk snaps defensively. "Seriously, I don't give a shit about what you have to say. I'm done with you. And I'm done with that fucked up family. Stay out of my life."

"I'm just looking out for you, kid." Jihyuk says before Jeongguk walks inside and slams the door shut behind himself.

"What the fuck are you slamming the door for?" Minjun groans from where he lays passed out on the couch.

Jeongguk doesn't answer, walking to the room he was staying in without acknowledging Minjun.

His brother's words continue to haunt him throughout the rest of the night.

What if Taehyung takes his kids away?
