Silver's POV

I woke up to the sound of beeping and I tried to sit up, but a hand caught me by the shoulder and held me back gently. I looked over to see the vampire sleeping on my left and Alex, the Phoenix looking at me with sadness, with his hand on my shoulder. I lay back down and the vampire seemed to hear this because he sat up straighter and opened his eyes. 

"What happened" I asked hoping that it was all just a dream, a really, really bad dream. 

"We pulled you out of the shadows by a shadow demon, and you brought a light user over by a portal, she freed you from the shadow chains, and then we rushed you both here" I groaned and looked at the ceiling in defeat

"I'm guessing that you heard almost everything" I said 

"No we didn't hear just anything, but us two and a couple others heard legit everything that happened in there" Alex said and I groaned again

"And you now want to know why huh" I said and then sat up feeling my healing kick in and heal my wounds, and I guessed that my fast healing was the only thing keeping me alive. Alex and the vampire protested and then I turned to the vampire. 

"What's your name, I never got it after all this time" 

"Drake, my name's Drake" he said and I put out my hand much to his surprise, by him flinching backwards before taking it and shaking. 

"Where should I start" I said under my breath 

"How about the beginning of your life" Alex said and I glared at him before sighing because he was right.

"Okay so when me and my sister were ten and eight we got in a car crash and our parents had been killed, and when I woke up I was still in the car, but my sister was gone, and I looked everywhere for a couple years straight before deciding that I would have to accept that she was gone and I lived by myself for a couple more years hunting and living in a house that I had bought when I was sixteen lying that my parents had given me the money as part of a school thing and that they would be coming soon. Then one night when I was taking a walk a big black wolf with equally black eyes came up to me and when I heard his voice in my head I thought that I was going crazy" I saw shaking from anger at the stupid evil wolf that ruined my life "he gave me two choices, become one of him or have something else done to me, and I chose the first one fearing the second option would've been death and I thought that it was all a big game, then he bit me, I woke up in the hospital thinking that it was a dream, got escorted, kidnapped, escaped, found my sister, turned, got captured again, and then a bunch of other stuff that lead to here" 

"How do you have your powers" Drake asked and I shook my head

"I don't know, I just discovered one, one day and they have just kept on growing since then, including fast healing" I pulled down the side of my shirt to show the hole and bites there that were now just silvery scars. I then realized that my glamour had come down and they could see what I actually looked like. I panicked and changed my appearance to make it look like what I had before, and I heard them gasp as they noticed the difference. I noticed that my vision was the only thing that hadn't changed and I was glad that it had stayed the same, so that it wouldn't freak them out more than they might already be. 

"Why do you change yourself like that" I heard Drake say on my left, and I looked at him before completely dropping the glamour and his heart raced as a new smell made it's way from him to my nose. 

"Do you really think that I would get along in this school if they saw a demon like this here, my skin being a slightly different color is bad as it is" I said and felt something stab into my leg and I looked at my leg to see four large holes before they closed up quickly, and then I looked at my hands and saw that my nails had turned silver and covered the tip of my fingers to a point. I felt something moving in my spine and realized that I had a tail now and I groaned when I saw that I had even harder things to hide. 

"I jumped off the end of the bed and landed in the bathroom as I looked at my new additions to my appearance and I saw that my tail ended in a long blade that looked like a small silver dagger blade with no hilt. My hands tipped with the claws, my skin was now a glossy silver and the black spots on my back seemed to be more prominent and I felt a bump as I dragged my hand over it. It was like it was trying to become a wing, or wings, and my eyes were still the same star-like shape, and then I noticed the biggest thing of all. I had points forming a crown around my head and I punched the mirror in anger. This change was really, really messing up my life, and I just wanted a normal girl life that could shift like the others, but no this curse had to ruin my life more by putting things that I don't want on me, literally a part of my body...well visible anyways. 

"Hey Silver, are you in there" it was Drake

"Yeah" I said "I'm just trying to get used to this new look" 

"Yeah me too" he said "well come out soon, there are others that want to, um, talk with you" 

"Yeah one sec" I said and then I sat on the lid of the toilet as my vision started to get dark, and I thought what now before I went into some kind of trance. I was in a black room with dim light coming in from covered windows and a man came in flanked by a couple wolves. 

"Where is she" a dark voice said from out of my vision

"We don't have her yet sorcerer, but we are waiting for her every time she steps out of that border" the man that came in said "Shade has done good by weakening the east side of the field, but we can't get in there due to his cold magic, and my team is working on the west side as we speak"

"Good" the darkness said and then a black hand appeared out of no where and lifted up the man by his throat choking him. 

"You know that I could kill you with a snap of my fingers, but I need you and your pathetic team of wolves as much as I hate to say it, but we need her before she comes of age and the curse of evil is broken freeing her from our grasp and making her a child of light" it said and I winced as I saw the hand move suddenly and the next thing I knew the man was flying across the building and slamming into the brick wall. It was an abandoned warehouse in seemingly the middle of no where "bring her to me, or I will have your soul" 

I snapped out of the vision as the man left the building falling over himself and I lent on my knees breathing hard, but I would tell Alex and Drake later when we were alone. I stood and put the glamour on before I stepped out of the bathroom to see the captain and a man in red robes that reached the ground saw me and smiled. 

"So this is the fine young lady causing trouble all over my kingdom" I froze as I realized that this was the king of this area, and I was the trouble.

"Don't worry I am not going to kill or capture you, but I want to know what you can do, it might help the kingdom against our enemies" he said and I was shocked

"I am technically the enemy" I said and his deep chuckle echoed through the little room

"No you aren't unless you are claimed by them, from what I've heard they are leaderless, and by what my few spies have uncovered they are searching for someone to be their new leader, someone that was claimed by their old leader before his death" I froze again and wondered how did he know about that. 

"Oh I know many things young one, like I know that you were chosen by Obsidian to rule after him, but you do not want to and the enemy has been scouring this academy trying to get in the barrier to capture you for some dark purpose" he said and my gaze narrowed as I felt him scour my mind, and then I blocked him out with an unbreakable shadow wall. The person could go through, but they would end up in someone else's mind instead of mine, I learned it a little while ago when I was unconscious. 

"Wow you are more powerful than I thought" the king raised an eyebrow when he was kicked out of my mind and I could tell that he pulled out before he was put in another person's. 

"Don't go pushing your way through my mind" I growled and for a second I could see a hint of fear in his eyes, my vision involuntarily changed and I looked around to see something rushing at the barrier with something else glowing a reddish black color. I took off and shifted as I got outside, and to everyone else they wouldn't have known that I had gone before there vision refocused and there was nothing in the spot I had been. I took off into the air making a boom behind me and then I looked over my body quickly to see that I was a dragon built for speed and combat. With a thin armored build for quick speed and agility and long claws and teeth that could tear through anything.

I dropped into a dive and I saw the wolves running in slow motion, and as I killed the first one by grabbing it in my claws and ripping it's head off with my teeth. I noticed that the same eyes of the wolf leading with the big bomb on it's back was the same person that I'd seen on my vision. I ripped apart the other wolves before they could scream of howl in alarm and I noticed that the wolf was still running using his wolves as a distraction. I shot through the others cutting them apart with razor-sharp wings that split their bodies in half and I grabbed the wolf leading by the sides and threw him up into the air. His eyes showed fear before his actions did, but he didn't have time to react before I had cut off his head with my claws and a loud shrill beep sounded in the air. I cut off the bomb from his back and enclosed it in my mouth, and then I walked back into the barrier and lay down waiting for the others to arrive. 

The beeping in my mouth rattled my bones and drove my ears crazy, and then I saw them coming. A large golden wolf flanked by four light brown ones at his sides and a Phoenix and black wolf behind him. I lifted my head as I watched them coming and then created a shield around my body, and then my vision flashed and the field shimmered in the air as I made it three hundred times stronger than the schools field. They shifted and walked up to the barrier, I was glad that our clothes didn't rip apart like I've read in books but they seemed to melt into our bodies and reform the same way they were before we shifted. The king touched the field and I could taste something foul in my mouth. I opened my mouth a little and a reddish smoke started to fill my vision. 

The king's guard pushed the king behind them and drew their swords, and I rolled my eyes at their protectiveness, but it was how they were trained and I didn't hold that against them. 

"Stay away from the king" the said over the kings protesting

I think that you got it wrong I said to them you need to stay away from me, oh and what is this I opened my mouth and everyone backed away even more. 

"Why do you have that in your mouth, much less how are you even alive with that even touching you" Alex asked as he came forward and I looked at him and shrugged the best I could. 

I don't know, I mean the smoke tastes foul and the metal seems to be melting, but I am not putting it down because I don't know what it does I said and his mouth opened with shock. The king stepped past his guards and they parted but didn't let down their blades until he ordered them to. 

"That bomb is something that I haven't seen in a long while" he said "but the basics are that when it is fully melted the liquid reacts to air and can explode an entire kingdom" I was shocked, and then annoyed

Yay I get to keep this stupid thing in my mouth for a long time while it tastes like wax in my mouth I said sarcastically 

"At least you can be sarcastic still in the moments before death" I looked at Drake and saw him looking at the floor in sadness.

Sadly for me I can't die, well not this way anyways I said and his head snapped up looking at me with hope and wonder in his eyes this will make my face numb for a little while and I might not be able to taste, smell, or see anything for about three minutes, but I can't die. I've tried driving one of my own blades through my heart, I've tried falling off of a building, and drowning myself with chains made of titanium, but nothing worked and I just stayed conscious, or blacked out for an hour at most while my body healed and reformed basically (By the way I cut this out of the story because I still want to keep it interesting with a few unknown things)

Everyone looked at me in wonder and horror, and then I felt the last of the thing melt and I strengthened the barrier more and made another one push them back by about a half-mile and strengthened it as much as the one I was in. Then I opened my mouth and I heard a sucking sound before my vision and hearing was filled with a loud boom and fire. I shifted twice, first into my fire form, and then after the explosion was over into my original form as the area was filled with smoke. The first layer of my barrier had shattered and the second had cracked, but I let it fade and the smoke lifted into the air like a large black flag. I walked to the others after my senses had become normal and the smoke cleared enough for me to see their forms in the distance. 

The ground had cratered and as I walked over to them I used my powers over nature and earth to reform the ground to the way it had been. I heard the guards say impossible, and the king and the others had their mouths open with shock before I directed a couple flies into their mouths making them cough and hack. 

Maybe you shouldn't have your mouth open so wide or you'll attract flies I said giving them my sharp grin, and after they were done having a coughing and hacking fit. Drake and Alex looked at me like of coarse she survived, and they thought it too, but I decided not to answer them. The king and the guards where shocked and their eyes were wide with shock and surprise. 

"H-how did you survive that, it would've killed us, and no less how could you keep the field up as well during it" a soldier asked flabbergasted and I realized that this one was female, and I was surprised that I didn't know that before. 

I am known to survive many things that others haven't right now and I am not too sure why yet I said I went into the freezing magic of the cursed forest, I went into a shadow and came out with a bunch of arrows and Hellhound bites and still survived, and I've survived this too, and many other things as well, so yeah not that surprising I quickly shifted and put the glamour on, but I feel like they still saw what was underneath the magic. 

"Wait your form changed" a soldier pointed out and I cursed 

"Yes very observant" I sarcastically said and waited for them to want me to show them my real form without the magic, and the first on to speak was the king...great. 

"Can you show us your real form" he asked but it wasn't really him asking it was more an order. 

"I can't" I said 

"You can and will do as the king says" the female guard said pulling out her sword and pointing it at me, but I put my hand up and it split as it came down on my fingertips. 

"No it's fine I just would like to know why can't we" he said 

"Because all of your legends, stories, and fears would be true, and I don't want those to come out of your childhood memories" I said as polite as I could but giving him a smile as I pulled some facts about his childhood from his head, and he looked shocked. 

"How'd you do that? I didn't feel you go through my mind, or touch my walls in fact" he said and I shook my head

"It's not like that for me, your walls and blocks are just mere things that I could knock down with a push of my finger or I cold just go through them like a ghost and see what I want, and your curiosity is going to get you in trouble one day" I said and then I formed a wall around us blocking the sight from the others that could be watching at the school "if you want to see my actual form then consider yourselves lucky because I have only shared it with a couple other people" I looked at Alex and Drake when I said this, but quickly looked away and back at the king. 

"Are you sure that you want to see it" I asked and the king inclined his head as a yes and his soldiers did the same after a little while as well. I closed my eyes and took off the glamour entirely, and when I opened my eyes they all gasped and the king had a clear look of fear in his eyes, soul, and smell, but kept his voice neutral as they saw my eyes. 

"Is that what they've looked like since your turn" he asked

"Yes, and I am going to be getting wings soon" I looked behind me to see that the bottom half of the bumps were white and the top half was black "I am glad that my face shape hasn't changed but at the same time I don't because it makes me look even more alien than I already am, and do you no see why I've kept this glamour on" I said as I put the glamour on and they all breathed out in relief when they saw my fake appearance. I dropped the walls and light flooded the area once again, I was rather sensitive to light when I was in that form due to my eyes. 

"I just wished that I could find a school that didn't treat me like a different thing, or a place even, that's all I care about, but then I worry about them getting attacked too" 

"I understand, but" I cut him off before he said it

"Yes" I said 

"What" 

"I said yes I will come with you, but only after I have finished school and my training" I said "after all I am only sixteen still" 

"Okay then I'll see you in two years" he said and then him and his guard shifted and ran out of the field towards what they called home, I guessed. 

"I'm going to go to bed" I said looking at the darkening sky 

"Yeah it is getting rather dark now isn't it" Drake said looking at the sky as well but he grabbed my arm just before I was about to go into a portal "do you know if it's safe?" 

"Yes this is the only way of travel that I've deemed safe, and nothing can get into my portals" I said but he wasn't done

"Why didn't you show us your eyes before?" I tilted my head at him

"You of all people should know that, Prince Drake" I stepped in my portal leaving him flabbergasted and I landed on my bed and immediately fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. 

Thanks for reading and I'll have another chapter out soon, 3684 words, 5-4-18. Someday, maybe near or at the end of this book I might do a much longer chapter. I was thinking around 10,000 or so words ;-).
