A few days after Optimus had met Soundwave they had offered to bring me out of base to help bring in some of the final scraps of energon, Soundwave had kept himself hidden but I knew he was watching and waiting. Going through the ground bridge I followed the prime alongside Arcee, Bulkhead, Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen further into the mine, it had been so long since I had left the Autobot base that this felt strange. A familiar feeling within my spark caused me to turn my helm, surely enough my sense was right and there he stood almost fully hidden within the dark. Giving a nod to the others to continue I made my way towards the tall and silent mech, giving him a thankful smile I stopped a short distance away.

"I never got to truly thank you Soundwave, without you I would probably have been killed by lord Megatron, I must also thank your quick mind because if it wasn't for you my sparkling would have become victim to his sires destructive behaviour," I sigh closing my optics with my slight smile still on my face, a gentle servo under my chin caused me to open my optics once more to see Soundwave had lifted my helm higher as if to make me look proud.

"Don't thank me, not safe with Megatron, sparkling safer with Autobots, Megatron is furious, he does not know of sparkling, keep hidden until his demise," Soundwave explained using old and new recordings, nodding I took a step back.

"Perhaps one day you will meet him, his name is Riptide by the way," I called over my shoulder as the ground bridge reappeared, with a nod Soundwave turned and summoned his own ground bridge before vanishing form sight. Following everyone else through the swirling green vortex I felt a sense of peace spread through my spark, I was thankful that Soundwave had in a sense changed and he cared more for the safety of Riptide and I than he did of his loyalty to Megatron.

"So big bad silent bots gone soft?" I heard Bulhead half question half sneered, snapping my helm in his direction he shut up pretty quick.

"Carrier's home!" I heard a rather excited voice giggle, turning my helm I let out a light chuckle seeing Riptide playing about Ratchets feet with some of the more useless tools. Kneeling down I prepared myself as the young sparkling charged from his current location and leapt into my arms, resting my helm against his I couldn't help but smile.

"Oh my precious sweet spark, I hope you behaved for Uncle Ratchet," I stated unable to hide my joy every time I saw my little sparkling.

"He's been quite useful actually, he picks up on things rather quickly and he just learned how to examine energon, isn't that right Riptide?" Ratchet called over his shoulder, with another giggle Riptide nodded.

"Yep! I learned how to study energon! I want to be as cool as you and Uncle Ratchet! I don't want anyone to get hurt especially you carrier," he giggled hugging into my chassis with his bright little face, with a smile I brushed a servo over the back of his helm and lifted his chin to look at me.

"Don't worry my little sweet spark, we aren't going anywhere," I sighed planting a kiss on his forehelm, with another vigorous nod I placed the little sparkling down on the ground where he raced over to see what the human children and Bumblebee were up to now. Leaning against a wall I crossed my servos and watched as he began to talk with the four of them, giving a slight smile I couldn't help but worry for Soundwave's safety now that he was going against Megatron just to keep me safe. The sudden feeling of the base shaking had my spark leaping into my throat, lunging forwards I scooped Riptide up in my servos and covered his helm as a few stray bits of rock fell from the ceiling. Another round of trembling ensued the base and I felt mortified, looking over to Optimus I noticed just how startled the prime looked. Bumblebee picked up the human children but I knew the base would only take so much damage before it caved, pulling a now terrified Riptide closer to my chassis I made my way towards Ratchet.

"Ground bridge is blown, only way out is through the main entrance, when whatever hit us it hit with precision and now our energon lines to the ground bridge are severed," Ratchet informed his gaze focused on the roof, with glances at the others I knew we were in for a rather troublesome time. With a nod to the others we began racing for the main entrance to the base, another round of trembling throughout the base almost had me falling over if Smokescreen had not been there to catch me.

"How did they find us!?" I heard him hiss under his breath, shaking my helm I followed the others out of the collapsing base. Swiping dust from my optics I pulled Riptide as close as I possibly could, standing there not too far away was Megatron himself.

"Ahhh Shadowseeker, I had assumed you had left but when your symbol vanished off of our scanners I had my theories on what happened to you, I never assumed you would betray the ones who raised you, but all good things must come to an end I suppose, now, to get straight to business, Prime, I will oh so joyously walk out of here without cause for harm if you hand over Shadowseeker and the sparkling," Megatron demanded his voice dripping with venom at every word, letting out a low growl I clung to Ripide all the more as he trembled in my arms.

"I am afraid I can not do that, Shadowseeker came to us seeking refuge from your evil deeds, if she wishes to return then it is her choice," Optimus stated his optics narrowed and his cannon drawn, with a dark chuckle I watched Megatron turn his helm to glance at Soundwave.

"Get them," he ordered, I noticed Soundwave stiffen slightly but he began to make his way towards us. When he came close I could see his helm tilt slightly as his gaze moved from me to Riptide and back again, raising a servo I gestured for the others to let him closer as I could sense his hidden questions. Once he came within arms reach he stopped, cautiously he lifted a servo to lift Riptide's chin and a happy emoji as the human children called it appeared on his optic.

"Take sparkling and run," he whispered, before I could even try to think over what he meant the tall mech turned and shot forwards towards Megatron scoring his clawed servos across his chest. Knowing he wouldn't be able to take the dark warlord by himself I quickly handed Riptide to Optimus and with a nod I transformed and charged towards Megatron to assist the one who created my very being, once I got close enough I switch course and lunged form Megatron's exposed back. Latching onto him I dug my teeth deep into his shoulder which caused Megatron to snarl in pain, before I could properly rip my jaws free I felt a sharp blade pierce my side which caused me to let go with a groan of pain. Leaping free of his grasp I glanced at my new injury and felt my spark almost stop from how much energon was pouring from it, shaking it off I charged once more latching my jaws onto Megatron's arm. Soundwave seemed to be trying to get close enough to attack but the warmonger ignored him until he came close, using my bladed tail I dug the sharp blade into the back of Megatron's leg which caused him to fall down on one knee. Letting go of his arm I only just manage to get out of the way of his enraged slashing, backing off a small distance I noticed my vision was growing blurry.

"Carrier!" I heard Riptide scream out, turning my helm I failed to notice as Megatron shot a blast straight for me hitting me square in the chassis sending my rolling backwards. Blinking my optics a few times I tried to figure out what had happened, the sound of screaming coming from my little sparkling had me trying to move but to my horror I could scarcely move at all. The feeling of being picked up was shortly followed by an imerging darkness, I wasn't joining the Allspark just yet but if I got any worse I knew my spark would be extinguished.
