Chapter 38
We lay for a long time holding each other. He drew circles on my back. I drew circles on his stomach. Adam said he loved me. I pushed myself up and looked down at him.
He brushed my hair behind my ear with his fingers. "You, okay?"
"Yeah." I smiled.
Adam continued to play with my hair. He looked from my face to his hands, then met my eyes with his. I was still grinning. He cocked his head and said, "What?"
"Tell me again."
Adam laughed and lay me on top of him. He held my face with his hands and peered into my eyes. "I...love...you..." Then he planted a kiss on my lips, grinned and said, "Your turn."
I kissed him and said, "I love you."
He bucked me off him. I landed on the bed with him on top of me. "Where do we go from here, Jasmine Baker?"
I laughed so hard because I couldn't believe he asked me that question.
Adam cocked his head. "What's so funny?"
"I was thinking the same thing."
"So? Did you come up with anything?"
"How about another weekend away? I'll let you drive me crazy again and I won't cry or lock myself in the bathroom."
He shook his head in disbelief. "I would love to drive you crazy again but that would mean I have to go away, and I don't want to."
"You think it was because I hadn't seen you for a while?"
"Well, wasn't it?"
I stroked his face with my finger. "I'm crazy for you all the time. I just have to picture you and my body goes wild."
Adam laughed and buried his face in my neck. "Are you seeing me now?" He put my hand on his hot, hard penis. "You do this to me to the point of being painful," he said. "When I'm not with you, I have to fix it myself."
I sucked on his neck, pushed him on his back, and worked my magic.
Adam groaned and took hold of my hips.
I started a rhythm, closed my eyes at the sensation of him filling me, and then leaned in to kiss him.
"Jasmine! You home?"
I disentangled my body from Adam's. "It's Daniel. My brother."
Adam swore under his breath. "Can I punch the prick? Please."
I gave him a disappointed look. "Get the door, I'm going into the bathroom," I whispered.
Adam raised his eyebrows and stared at his erect penis. "Fucking great."
"Jasmine! Are you there?"
As I closed the bathroom door, Adam yelled, "Alright, we heard you the first time!"
Daniel laughed. "Nice to know you're not a complete wanker."
I decided not to leave them alone together. Once I was dressed, I went into the living area.
Adam was leaning against the end of the kitchen bench; his arms folded over his bare chest.
Daniel sat on one of the dining room chairs, peering at Adam.
I smiled and pretended I hadn't picked up on the tension. "Did you introduce yourselves properly?"
They huffed in unison.
I sighed and looked from one to the other. "Adam, this is my brother Daniel. Daniel, this is my boyfriend, Adam."
They yanked their heads at each other.
"Come on, guys. Please shake hands, you're both being idiots."
They stepped toward each other at the same time and gripped each other's hands. Neither one smiled. Great, two of the men I loved the most in the world, hated each other.
As they shook hands Daniel said, "Hello fuckhead."
My heart surged in fear. I froze, not sure what Adam would do.
He laughed, hung his head a little, and then cocked it in question. "So, which one am I? Fuckhead or dickhead?"
"A bit of both I'd say," Daniel said.
Adam jerked Daniel forward. "If you ever try another stunt like that, I'm gonna break your neck."
Daniel held one hand in defence and laughed. "Fair call. But you should have seen the look on your face. Man...classic."
"Who wants a coffee?" I filled the kettle.
Daniel raised his finger. "Yeah, I will."
Adam sighed and ran his hand up the back of his head. "Okay."
He picked up his shirt from the floor then Daniel snickered, "I hope I didn't interrupt anything?"
"No...no we're just talking," I lied.
He folded his arms, leaned back on the dining chair and smirked at Adam's unimpressed face. "I hate to put a dampener on things but I need to stay again tonight, Jazz."
"What? No... Why?"
"That's alright," Adam said.
Panic swept through me. I sensed he was going to leave. I grappled for a reason to stop him. "Do you have something on?" I whispered, not sure if my face betrayed me.
He grinned and shook his head. "I'm all yours."
I can't tell you how happy those words made me.
Daniel made a coughing sound and said, "Thanks, Jazz, I'll stay out of your way for as long as I can and bang on the door when I get home."
Adam put his arm around my shoulder. "Jasmine can come and stay at my place tonight. We'll let you do your thing."
I gasped, "Really?"
Adam's chest rumbled with humour. "Yeah...Really."
I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. He put his hands on my butt as he hugged me.
Daniel said, "For Christ's sake, she's my sister. Could you at least get a room?"
Adam scowled at him. "We had a room until some prick banged the door down."
"Ugh." Daniel laughed then said, "I ain't sleeping in those sheets so you better put some clean ones on."
"I'm pretty sure you've slept in worse," Adam scoffed.
"This is my sister's bodily fluids we're talking about," Daniel jeered. "Not to mention the wanker she's screwing."
I was so excited. I was going to Adam's. This meant there was no wife. No other girlfriend. A heavy weight lifted from my shoulders. If it hadn't been for Daniel, I'm sure he wouldn't have suggested it. I skipped towards Daniel and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Stop it. I'll change them now; can you guys make the coffee?"
They barged into the small kitchenette at the same time and then scowled at each other.
"Back off. I'll make it since you're doing me a favour," Daniel growled.
Adam stepped back and let him move to the sink.
Daniel grinned. "Hey, Jazz, what's your friend's phone number? Macy. I might give her a call since I'll have the place to myself."
I fluffed the new sheet over the mattress. "You are not going to do any such thing. Same deal I don't want to be sleeping in my brother's bodily fluids."
He laughed and jerked his head at Adam. "Hey, fuckhead, how do you have your coffee?"
"Black and if you keep calling me that I'm gonna punch you."
Daniel laughed and handed Adam a cup.
They both sat at the table while I finished making the bed.
"You've got some pretty sick tats." Daniel sipped his coffee. He studied Adam over the rim of his cup and then tapped his neck. "You're into bikes?"
They eyeballed each other. Adam stared at Daniel, and then muttered, "In a way."
A current of hostility seemed to fill the atmosphere. For some reason, I got the impression his answer was a threat.
Neither one looked away. I didn't want them to fight, so I blurted, "Where's my coffee?"
Daniel tilted his head towards the kitchen bench. "Over there." He didn't draw his eyes from Adam's.
I chirped, "Daniel's into bikes. I told you he races motocross, didn't I?"
The tension eased. Adam laughed. He took hold of the leg of my shorts and sat me on his knee. "Yeah, honey, you did." He cocked his head at Daniel. "Are you any good?"
"Yeah..." Daniel smirked at him. "In the top eight after Round 5 of the Aussie Nat's MX Series." He looked at me. "Honda is going to offer me sponsorship."
"Daniel! That's fantastic! Why didn't you tell me?"
"You had other stuff going on." He grinned. "I was waiting for the right time."
We drank our coffee. Daniel talked about the upcoming Round 6 and how he thought he'd go.
"Come on." Adam patted me on the bum. "Get some gear and let's go."
"What should I take?"
"Depends. Do you want to stay in or go out?"
I giggled. "Stay in."
Adam raised his eyebrows and smiled. "So don't bring anything. You won't need it."
"Oh, please..." Daniel chuffed. "Keep a lid on it."
I packed some clean underwear, jeans, a T-shirt, and a jumper, then gave Daniel my spare keys. "No strange women in my bed, boy!" I said as I kissed his cheek.
"Okay." He saluted. "You're the boss."
Things continue to look up. ♥
Daniel sure is a tease. I hope Adam doesn't punch him.
