The rain was pouring down harshly, the sound of the rain clashed with the sound of a ringing phone. Her attention went to the ringing phone and she accepted the call, It was from an unknown number so with a tone of doubt she said, "Hello". "Vanya, It's me Aabha" said the caller and Vanya's eyes went wide in surprise. "Aabha, You? How are you?" Said Vanya fumbling with her words, She had nearly lost all contact with her sister and so did her sister break them.

"I'm not doing good, I don't think I've much longer either" said Aabha. Vanya's expression changed into a one of concern and confusion, "What's going on Aabha" asked Vanya with her tone showcasing her visible concern. "Va-Vanya I-I Re-Really want To S-See Y-You" said Aabha huffing for breathe, Vanya got up and started packing her bag. "Where are you and What's happening?" asked Vanya in confusion, "H-Ho-Hospital" said Aabha struggling to breathe.

"Madam you'll get me fired, Please put the oxygen mask back on" Vanya heard the sound in the background. "Hello- Hello?" Asked Vanya after hearing Silence. She had no idea about her sister's whereabouts and the Call made her concerned about her wellbeing. "Hello?" she heard a voice from the other side and Vanya was relieved that she might finally get a hang of what's going on.

"Hello, What's going on?" asked Vanya and the voice she had previously the background answered, "I'm Nurse Susan, I'm the attending Nurse of Mrs Aabha Manvik and she wanted to talk to you badly". "Where is she at and what's happening" asked Vanya. "Sunrise Hospital, Seventh Floor and room number 702, Block A" said the Nurse. "What happened?" asked Vanya with concern, "Mrs Manvik is in the ICU due to a bullet wound" explained Nurse Susan.

Vanya's eyes got filled with water and they started to drip towards her cheeks, "Situation is critical and It's better you come here the earliest before you regret it, I need to go now so bye" said Nurse Susan and cut the call. Vanya wiped the tears of her cheeks and grabbed her towel to clean her face, "Rishi Manvik, You never leave a chance to ruin things" muttered Vanya under her breathe and drank some water.

"I really hope nothing happens to my sister, Everything is because of you Mr.Manvik" cursed Vanya and rushed outside to meet her sister the earliest. Vanya rushed towards the hospital, She got into the elevator and pressed seventh floor. The elevator started to ascend to the floor and Vanya's heart was still palpitating. The lift opened and she put her foot in the floor. A lady walked towards her and stopped her tracks, Vanya looked at the lady in confusion.

"Excuse me, Please move" said Vanya politely but the lady didn't move, "This is actually a private floor and only authorized members can enter, The lack of identity bracelet means you're not supposed to be here" said the lady and Vanya took a deep breathe. She let her rationality and Understanding part act instead of her irrational emotions, "My sister is admitted over here, Room number 702 Aabha Sahdev, I mean Aabha Rishi Manvik" said Vanya Calmly trying to present her point.

"Anyone can walk in and say stuff, Leaking of information and such assumptions is a security threat, Please go back" said the lady and Vanya understood the point but it was frustrating. "Then call Mr.Manvik, He can identify me right or My nephew Parth, He can identify me too" said Vanya in an attempt to convince the lady, she had to meet her sister.

"Guards" called out the lady and two guards arrived, Vanya looked at them in confusion and she didn't want to get thrown out. "Don't try anything smart, Let me try finding someone who could identify you" said the lady and walked away, The guards were staring her down and she was uncomfortable. She tried to put on her racing thoughts on halt but it was getting harder, She wanted to meet her only sister.

The distance between them was very much there but the love was much more, She knew there was a reason for the distance and she somewhat knew why. It was kind of for her own good and betterment but it was at the cost of their relationship. Vanya saw the lady return with a man who she knows she saw somewhere, She saw him enough to catch his face. "Is this the patient's sister?" asked the lady and Vanya looked at the guy with hope.

"Madam cut contact with her family so I'm not sure" said The guy and the lady nodded. "Where's Mr.Manvik" asked Vanya, She couldn't blame the guy for not recognising him because his reason was valid. "He'll be back in a while" said the guy. "He knows me" said Vanya in a losing attempt, "Please wait in first floor and I'll get you when he's here" offered the lady seeing Vanya's condition.

"Ok fine" succumbed Vanya and She saw the guy's eyes were on her. She knew that he was present at the wedding and he was instructing things. She rang the button on the elevator so she could wait in first floor. She waited for the elevator to show up. She hoped the guy remembered her but he didn't say anything, Now her luck lies in the hands of Rishi Manvik, Whom she didn't want to meet.

Lies, Complete lies were what he muttered. He knew who it was and everything about. After all he was Aariz Ahmed, The right hand man of Rishi Manvik. He knew it was Vanya Sahdev, His Boss's Wife Aabha's Only sister. He couldn't reveal it at the moment, The slightest idea of the fact that Rishi kept Tabs on the 21 year old shouldn't be known. Ever since Rishi put sight on her when she was a 15 year old teenager, Rishi kept tabs on his sister-in-law and had regular updates of her life but Only they needed to know that.

The elevator door opened and Vanya was about to step in. Her eyes met with a pair of eyes which left her eyes widened, Vanya moved aside so He could walk in to the floor. "Good Morning Mr.Manvik" said the lady and Vanya looked at him in amusement. "Sir this lady has been saying that She's the patient's sister-" The lady was cut off.

"This is Aabha's sister Vanya, Get her a bracelet immediately" commanded Rishi and The lady bowed while nodding. "Vanya come with me" said Rishi and Vanya followed behind him like a lost puppy while he smirked. They stood outside room 702 and Vanya's heart sunk, "Can I meet her?" she asked with a trembling voice and Rishi looked at her vulnerable self.

"You need to scrub up to avoid any infections" said Rishi and Vanya nodded. "Words Vanya, Words" said Rishi annoyed and Vanya was already scared of this man, him scolding her acted as fuel on the fire of fear. Even though she holds hate towards him because he's the cause of misery for his sister but she knows about of him enough to be scared of him, His sister wasn't spared then her being the sister-in-law holds no power.

"Yeah anything works, I just want to meet her" said Vanya in a rambling manner. "Aariz make the necessary arrangements for the meeting" said Rishi and then turned towards Vanya, "You sit here until the arrangements are made" said Rishi and Vanya nodded, "Words" repeated Rishi and Vanya looked at him with widened eyes, "Yes" she muttered and sat in the sofa laid out for guests.

"How did you know that Aabha is in the hospital and the floor?" asked Rishi and Vanya felt the air sucked out of her lungs, She looked like a deer looking at headlights. "Um- I-" Vanya started to stutter and Vanya could see her getting on his nerves, "Stop stuttering Vanya" said Rishi strictly and she gulped. "Umm- Aabha contacted me because she wanted to meet me" said Vanya while she tucked her loose hair strand behind her ear in nervousness.

He noticed all of her nervous gestures, he was aware that he had that effect on her and that gave him a proud feeling instead of any other. "You do know that this is a breach of security right?" Said Rishi and Vanya realised the Nurse get fired because of her action. "It's not their fault, Aabha wanted to meet me so badly and its our fault that we cut contact, but you could've actually contacted me if things were this serious" said Vanya

Her tone pleading and trying to deflect things from snowballing badly. "Fine, I'll not press into the issue but don't make such stupid choices again, you will be compromising all of our lives and safety" said Rishi and Vanya nodded understanding it. "Words Vanya Words" warned Rishi and Vanya gulped, "yes, I understand" said Vanya. A nurse approached from the ICU side with a clipboard pressed to her chest.

"Ms. Vanya Sahdev?" she asked glancing between them. Rishi turned to her and proceeded, "She's cleared". The nurse nodded, "We'll need you to change into sterile attire before you enter, Come with me please". Vanya rose quickly almost with relief but Rishi caught her wrist before she could take a step. "Say nothing unnecessary to her" he said sharply, "Let her rest You're here to see, not to talk".

Vanya's pulse pounded beneath his fingers and She nodded, "Words" he prompted again. "Yes" she replied with her voice barely audible and He released her. The nurse gestured for her to follow and Vanya moved down the hallway. Behind her she felt Rishi's eyes drilling into her spine. They turned a corner into a small room with white cabinets and a bench. The nurse handed her a folded blue gown and a hairnet. "You can change here" she said gently offering a small smile.

Vanya walked into the sterile environment, The beeping sounds of the machines were so loud that it was disrupting her thoughts. Her sister laid in the bed fragile with tubes attached to her and bandages enveloping her small frame. Each step felt hard while she approached her sister, Her sister slowly raised her hand towards Vanya. Vanya rushed to hold her sisters hand which was now cold.

"Vanya you came?" her sister said in a whisper tone since she didn't even have any energy left and Vanya nodded softly. "Come closer to me" Aabha requested. "Aabha how?" asked Vanya with concern, "That's the question for Rishi, I can't answer that" said Aabha in a low tone. "Vanya, I can't say how happy I'm to see you, I'm so sorry that I had to distance you from me but It was for your own good" said Aabha and Vanya nodded.

"I don't know your reasons but I know you only meant good for me, I would always come if you call me even once" reassured Vanya. "I don't have much time with me so I'll be honest with you, Believe me that I didn't have any other option" said Aabha. "What happened?" Vanya asked concerned and Aabha closed her eyes to gain calmness, "Aabha calm down, Don't speak like you don't have time, You have all the time in the world, Shh It's fine" said Vanya in a soft consoling tone.

A teardrop spilled from Aabha's eyes and she slowly opened them, "That's the thing, I don't have much time left in this world, I'm dying and I know that even though no one would acknowledge it" said Aabha in whimpering words and Vanya felt like world started shaking. A tear drop fell from Vanya's eyes and fell onto Aabha.

"Vanya I'm going to ask you something very important and please don't say no" said Aabha begging, the desperation was obvious in her voice. "Aabha don't speak like that, Everything is going to be fine but I'll do whatever you want" said Vanya in a reassuring tone.

"You Promise?", Vanya didn't know that the promise she made is going to be the venomous promise which would kill her slowly. It bind her to her some blind devotions which are deadly and toxic.
