Chapter 49

Annabeth looked at Sundrop's outward hand in confusion. "So you three were trying to make your way through all that on your own, to do what?"

"Well we weren't expecting to be swarmed by so many of them all at once, but ironically our objective was getting you to so that we could then get you to Percy, but seeing that you're here he's probably fine and..."

"Really? Your whole goal was to find me and then get me to Percy?" Annabeth crossed her arms and scowled, "What if I decided to join his side and sit by doing nothing while you all got your asses handed to you by the orchestrator of this whole mess?" Sundrop looked at Annabeth in shock at her outburst.

"Do you think we wouldn't have been able to convince Percy to fight alongside us?" He looked utterly perplexed as to why Annabeth was acting this way.

"Well I found him in a cage, and while I thought that he was trapped he was actually just going to sit in there until the battle was over, or maybe until the very last moment just to break out and save your asses last minute." Annabeth scoffed and Sundrop looked at the ground in thought.

"So they actually tried it..."

"Tried what?" Annabeth stepped towards Sundrop threateningly pointing a knife of plasma at him. "Tried to trap him, again? Tried to force him into helping your side? Or did you just give the resources to someone else and let things play out?" She caught the barest of a flinch in his expression and growled. "You all did something stupid and are very lucky that it played out in your favor, if he knew that it was you guys that basically gave the mortals a way to trap him indefinitely he would've ripped off your heads and destroyed the world himself." Probably. Annabeth didn't say the last part but she was sure that if she hadn't been there to calm him down he might've killed all of the avengers and then moved on to make the gods pay before Order.

Seeing that they're all still sitting around on Olympus and watching idly by, letting this happen to the very planet that was responsible for their very own vast amounts of power. Poseidon's mood had already turned the Ocean into practically uninhabitable waters after he realized what he'd done to Percy back then, but if the planet were to be taken over by Order...None of it would even matter. They would all be powerless to stop him, quite literally at that as it seemed like Order just wanted to cleanse the entire planet of almost all free-will, and without that there would be no one worshipping or recognizing them anymore and their power would fade away.

It seemed that with all the commotion going on Shadow was starting to regain consciousness, and she was just staring at everyone, silent and confused. As was everyone else watching Annabeth lay into Sundrop, but she didn't forget who else was on the ship with her. She whirled on Natasha, who instinctively went into a defensive posture, but Annabeth didn't get any closer and just pointed at her with the knife as well.

"You should be ashamed too. You're a modern assassin from what I understand." She growled, "You and Hawkeye should've seen through the countless faults in such a plan and made countermeasures for them." Natasha looked at Annabeth with guilt plastered over her face. And Wanda stepped to the side into Annabeth's view to speak.

"You aren't made at me? At my brother?" She asked and Annabeth shook her head.

"No. From what I understand you aren't really a part of The Avengers like she and Hawkeye are, so I shouldn't turn my anger on you even if you tried to capture me in their stead." Annabeth looked over at Stella. Who was watching this entire encounter stoically, learning all she could about the vast amounts of emotions being show at the moment. "I'm sorry for stopping you earlier, even if Thor is on our side he clearly wasn't acting like it and it caused you harm."

It is...fine Stella said, My systems are undamaged and back online and I have learned many things during this encounter that it would've equalized to a worthwhile expense. Annabeth looked at Stella shocked, she didn't expect that kind of answer. She kind of expected the AI to show some kind of emotion, like anger or annoyance, but if she was learning by watching then maybe she didn't know how to exhibit those emotions yet.

"Okay." Annabeth took a moment to gather herself, "Do you mind taking us somewhere away from the fighting for a moment so we can plan?" She pretended not to notice the scowl Rocket expressed, but he was currently, still, shooting things so he couldn't entirely show his displeasure. He just started blasting harder in compromise.

There are several locations where fighting has all but ceased, Stella showed a map of various red dots in the city, and Annabeth studied it for a moment.

"Can you take those away from near the center of all this, and ones near buildings turned to rubble." It was more of a command than a question, but Stella didn't seem to mind and updated the map with those perimeters, but it didn't get rid of as many areas as Annabeth hoped that would. "Can you only show areas with extensive building cover and maybe off of main roads with indirect routes?" The map updated again and Natasha looked at Annabeth with a brow raised, impressed.

She would've made a great spy, she thought and watched as Annabeth chose a location decently far away but not too far that it would take too long to get back into the mix.

-------------------------------------

After they reached the location, with Quill's ship following behind, Annabeth asked Stella to land so they could meet up with everyone else, and a few moments later and they were all standing in a loose circle. Annabeth looked at Thor anxiously, she'd always wanted to meet the Norse god of Thunder (and lightning) but she never would've imagined it would have been in this kind of situation. He looked at them and their ship with what looked like reluctant guilt, but Annabeth didn't focus on him much longer when the three Galaxy Warriors stepped out of both sides and got into a line off to he side of both groups.

They each took off their hoods and Annabeth recognized the two guys but felt like she also knew the girl too, and then they all introduced themselves.

"I am known as Sundrop, Previously Michael Yew."

"I am Forge, formerly Charles Beckendorf."

"And I'm Shadow, formerly Bianca di Angelo." And that was when it clicked for Annabeth. She recognized her from the capture the flag game they had at camp from when she first met Percy. It was also one of the few times they almost won.

"I remember all of you now," Annabeth said, "But this comes first. We can all catch up later and see what's changed about everyone." She then created a pillar of flame and flattened it out into a table-like structure, and she tried to go further by creating a map of the city that she saw, but it was too strenuous on her and the map fizzled out halfway finished. She almost lost control of the rest of the structure as it seemed to fade for a moment but stabilized when Annabeth put a hand on the edge.

She looked up to find everyone staring at her and she looked away embarrassed. "I was trying something, get a map and lets talk about what we need to do from here." Rocket went and got a gadget from their ship and tossed it on the center of the table where Annabeth was steadying herself using both hands now and starting to breathe heavier.

"If you hadn't tried to copy your boyfriend you wouldn't be tired right now." He jabbed and Annabeth looked at her feet in embarrassment once more. Thankfully the attention was stolen from her as the gadget turned on and they started the actual planning process of what they were going to do now.

Around ten minutes later they all agreed on their plan of action and while it had missing potential outliers that could potentially scrap the whole thing it was the best they could come up with without wasting any more time:

Annabeth would be going to the center in Stella with Rocket, Groot, and the Warriors to drop off the warriors and wait nearby to provide help if needed, but Stella did interject in this saying that she wouldn't be able to get close if the being's aura was active and she'd have to let them off at the edge of it and move on. If they found that Percy didn't need help then they would focus on clearing things out from the inside and work their way out through the city or towards the others.

The Avengers would be in charge of going to stations or other populated places to help clear or keep an area clear in order to save anyone that was wandering around. Wanda and her brother would go with to help them.

And The Guardians would use their ship to clear a path towards the center with Stella and then split off and protect the area from the skies from any aerial targets or threats.

With that everyone separated and headed off, each hoping that this would be all over soon so things could go back to normal, or their versions of normal.

Thanks for reading. This is a scheduled chapter again so it might have more mistakes then the others, which i usually comb through with edits before publishing.

If you haven't noticed I'm going to be working on IRD now, the three that were suggested in my announcements page were thought about but I can't update Sea Dragon of Alagesia due to being unable to understand, or read, the Eragon series again (even after reading the first two books twice so far), and the other two are just because I want to work on IRD and try to make it into a longer term story that might help me earn money for writing.

I've already posted my Patreon in earlier chapters, but if you're curious: patreon.com/Cr1mson_Fangs there it is. I've put up the first two chapters of IRD there as well and will have them, up to chapter ten, as free while I can write more.

Updates will be slower after that point.

Anyways I hope that you enjoyed! And I'll see you in the next one!
