Chapter 15

I spent the rest of the day with Annabeth and she showed me around to all of the new things at Olympus and mentioned similar events between both camps. Oh and apparently they got a portal connecting to each other. Convenient and rather annoying considering the gods could've done that to make things so much easier for us last war. I was still wondering what we should do for the rest of the night when Annabeth asked me a strange question.

"Hey can you make a portal based off of another persons desire or memories?" She looked back at me stopping to hold our arms in front of us both.

"I haven't actually tried it yet but in theory it should work," I said and she nodded and asked me to close my eyes. I did as she asked and after a minute or so of asking questions about what I was feeling and if I could focus on the connection we had she asked me to open the portal.

I hadn't gotten the chance to open my eyes before we were somewhere very high up, with wind blowing all around us. I opened my eyes and looked around for a moment—

"Why did you want to come here? I could've just brought us here without having to do all of that," I asked and she smiled.

"Yes I know you could've, but I wanted to go to a place that was memorable for both of us, and why not the perfect time to make a bad memory better than watching the sunset on a skyscraper?" She said holding the rails and looking towards the setting sun.

"You have a point, as always," I said before coming up to join her. I never imagined that I would come back here, even with Luke resting peacefully in Elysium and all I didn't think this place would hold a special meaning other than just a bad memory.

The Empire State Building.

Gosh even thinking it brings back the bad memories of Luke when he was influenced by Kronos. I want to forget about them but it just...it's hard to forget someone that was so badly misunderstood, just trying to get his fathers attention after all.

That did remind me of the person I saw a little while ago in the Olympian Throne room though. He had the same exact eyes as Luke did and it unnerved me for some reason. Hmm, maybe I should go 'Visit' the Underworld and see if he's still there. I could also say hi to Perseus and Bianca while I'm there...and maybe Nico if I see him.

"What's on your mind?" Annabeth's voice took me from my thoughts as we watched the changing horizon.

"I don't know." I said, "I didn't want to bring it up but you would find out eventually, so I might as well—"

"I want to join you," she said and I lost my train of thought, "I mean I want to be like you, a werewolf I mean...wait was that not what you were going to say?" I looked at her shocked and she played with her pencil nervously. It can wait...

"I—I, um, what made you change your mind about this?" I asked taking her hands, with her still holding that pencil. Maybe it was enchanted to stay with her at all times too.

"I'm not ready to go down there yet, I don't know if I ever will be, but I can at least take the option to be with you forever. That way even if we both die we can find each other no matter where we are anyways, but—Why is a light still coming from the horizon like that?" What was she talking about?

I turned around to see what she was talking about and my eyes immediately focused on the 'beam of light' heading our way. It was a man, a flying man dressed in a metal suit.

"Hey did you hire a flying metal man?" I asked and she hummed in confusion.

"Okay" I said with a sigh, "first it's an arrow, then it was someone stalking me, and now it's someone actively interrupting our time together?!" I shifted with a growl of annoyance.

"Come on. We can talk about your decision later, for now let's just go visit your father." I opened a portal beside us and shifted back to let her pass. Annabeth looked at the streak coming towards us once more before sighing and stepping through the portal.

I moved to go through when a giant red barrier appeared in-front of said portal. Seriously?! I glanced to the source of the barriers power and saw a lady dressed like a modern sorceress floating over the edge of the railing.

(Okay so I'm just going to get this straight, I'm basing this scene off of the Percy Jackson movie because I had no memory of this from the books. And I don't want to read them again, so please bear with me here)

I raised a brow and stood there with my arms crossed over my chest. The chains of my wrist cuffs ends shifting into spikes at the ends as she landed.

"What do you want?" I growled and she raised her hands towards me, strange circular formations hovering in front of said hands. "You and what I assume to be your group have interrupted a number of things with your presence alone."

She seemed to be listening to something and I glanced over at the streak to see how far away the man was, jeez that suit of his was actually pretty fast. I wonder how many G's of force he's had to have gotten used to traveling at those speeds?

"We just want to ask you a few questions and things will continue from that point," she said, "Come peacefully and nothing gets destroyed." Hmm, she's smarter than she looks. Usually they say 'you won't get hurt' or 'we won't have to hurt you' but she said it that way on purpose because she doesn't want to damage our surroundings.

"And how long would that take?" I tapped a clawed hand on my arm, "my mate is being held up by this little scuffle?"

The woman's eyes seemed to twitch at the use of those words but that didn't matter to me. That annoying streak in the sky was minutes away now.

"I don't know," she said, "it depends on your answers." I sighed and uncrossed my arms to 'check' my claws.

"Nah. That's just your way of saying "we get to ask you a ton of questions and then we'll either offer you to join us, or you can either die or go to some kind of prison." I saw that change in your stance lady. Your powers just intensified and I can see you preparing to fight.

"Look. I don't want to fight right now, and no it's not because your a woman. I could care less about that actually, some rather nasty monsters are women. I don't get why they don't act like you actually, it might get them somewhere better than having to simply turn people to stone, skewer them, or poison them."

I grinned and fell backwards. The portal trapped in her barrier disappeared and a new one opened underneath me. All it took was a few well placed knives and a flash-ball just before I fell through to make sure she couldn't do anything about it.

I came out the other side in a garage, at least it seemed like a normal garage from this side, an entire wall was full of books and figurines of planes and war soldiers. I shook my head, of course the waypoint of Annabeth's memories would lead us to this spot. She probably sat here for hours just reading.

I was not happy to meet this man again, he was so...strange. I mean I don't think anyone else figured out how to make celestial metals into bullets, and he also could see people and things for their true forms. He's a scientist trapped in the body of a historian and I was not happy to see what he thought of my changes.

The portal had closed as soon as I had gotten through and based on the fact that part of the house wasn't on fire nor the presence of a limb or small puddle of blood I'm guessing that that lady or the others couldn't react quick enough to chase...good.

I looked back and saw that the plane had survived, don't know how but it was there, and the guy had a new car so I guess that's good too. I really didn't want to go inside.

"What took you so long?" Annabeth said opening a door and I growled at that stupid connection we had. No peace, I got no peace dammit.

"I just had a talk with a decently mannered sorceress, but she didn't like me," I shrugged and Annabeth stood there for a moment processing what I was going on about before shrugging and grabbing my hands. She was careful of my claws, but still seemingly determined to drag me inside the main building.

It looked pretty much the same as last time we'd been here, maybe a few more paintings here and there, but otherwise the same. And I could hear the man of the evening from here as he rattled around pans and things.

"Annabeth you didn't say you were visiting for the night! I would've prepared something for you." The man said and Annabeth continued to drag me around the house closer to that grumbling madman.

"I know dad, but I wanted you to meet Percy again. You two haven't seen each other in a while after all, and we were going to meet you again sooner or later." She said finally letting go of me and entering the kitchen to help her father.

"Oh. I guess we're not having fish tonight then," he said and the grumbling began anew. Cursing my father and his domain ruining his children's senses of taste.

"No that's fine actually," I spoke up finally, "Maybe some fish will taste good now that I've changed." The man froze and looked back at the monster standing at the doorway of his kitchen.

I had a knife thrown at me, and grinned at the comically conflicted face the man wore as I caught the blade between two fingers. Annabeth frowned as I grinned and I sighed and set the blade down on the counter next to me.

"Hey Mr. Chase, it's been a while," I said and for the next half hour things were prepared rather quickly. The fish being in the oven not a minute past that and us ushered over to a couch for a talk.

I do admit I felt a little bad at eating fish now. I mean I could probably still understand them even if I wasn't a child of Poseidon anymore, but I just saw this as another way to get back at my ex-father for what he's done to me. Though seeing the madman that is Annabeth's father react like that was good enough for me and having to stay here.

"I, uh, wow. Where do I even begin?" He came out flustered. "Okay let's just start at the beginning. Why did you stop answering my letters Annabeth?" And there goes my good mood.

"Yeah. Sorry dad, I sort of got kidnapped by an angry goddess again and have been kept in a suspended animation state in an earthen coffin until like a month ago." Annabeth said, "I'm sorry I didn't let you know that I wasn't dead, I was worried about what they'd done to Percy over all else at the moment."

"I thought it was like that. Happened another time before when you were kidnapped along with Artemis or something too in the past so I could only hope you came back okay." He said and lent over the table to give her a kiss on the forehead. Then his attention turned to me and I growled faintly at the intent attention this man was giving me now.

"Okay so what happened with you? Including why you look like that now." Mr. Chase's attention was now fully attached to me and I just signed and began my story once again for the third time.

He listened well, and didn't ask any questions. I'm pretty sure that that notebook was full of his thoughts though. Once I finished I stayed quiet for a few moments while he wrote down the last of his questions and then he waited for a moment before looking up at me and flipped to the front of his notepad.

"Wow. I'm surprised Athena hadn't realized something was up, but it can't be helped now, and I'm sure that she regrets her decisions now: both from treating you like that and letting the other do that to you, and with actually trying to form a lasting relationship with Poseidon due to your two's relationship."

'Mom was getting along with Poseidon better back then but was she really trying that hard to form a relationship between our two families?' Ah there Annabeth goes with her muttering and muses.

"We'll he is not my father anymore so I no longer care about how things go with him and the other gods." I growled and I barely noticed my claws sinking into the couch vision before they caused lasting damage. "Sorry, I just want nothing to do with the Olympians now besides a select few."

"I understand your reasoning, so I'll move on. I'm guessing your appearance has something to do with that event and I can look into that myself later, but I'm guessing it's stronger than his?" I grinned, letting my lengthened canines flash him.

"Much stronger, after all Lycaon no longer exists anymore on this plane." I grinned further and Mr. Chase seemed to understand with only that context.

"Okay so what are your new powers then?" He asked ripping out the second page of his notepad. Wow, that was quite a lot of questions you got rid of there.

"I am a Primordial now." This really got his attention and he looked at me, and then Annabeth and Grinned madly barking a laugh.

"Wow, look at you. My daughter has officially beaten me in every standard now. Catching the attention of a Primordial's successor! Who is now a god themself, my have I lost my touch." The man grinned at me as Annabeth hid her reddened face behind my back and I grinned back.

"We'll other than my domains I can control the chains connected to the cuffs around my wrists and ankles, turn into a giant Wolf, control all states of water and a few other select liquids, and I also have power over some metals, shadows, and a portion of Space." I said and the man hummed with major interest but didn't press on that further. Only asking what my domains were for the moment.

"I am now the successor of New Tartarus, I haven't found a good name for the yet (ANY SUGGESTIONS!), and I also have inherited the Earth. Other than that I have control over Water, Fire, Kinetic Energy, Silver, and the Void." I paused, "I don't know why I got power over the Void but I'm guessing that whoever ruled over that domain chose me to succeed them for some reason."

"Well other than being one of the few people that doesn't use their power for bad things I can think of plenty of reasons," Mr. Chase said and Annabeth nodded in agreement beside me. "Though I am curious about something, you have power over Silver and the Earth but not over wolves or any other kind of animal though you are a werewolf now, and isn't silver a major weakness of werewolves'?"

"It normally would be, but since I became a Wolf after I received a portion of each God's powers as the process to make me immortal. I believe that Artemis' blessing helped me become immune to the effects of silver. Meaning—"

"You can't be killed with any normal Celestial weapon unless it's either blessed by the gods, or not of the Greco-roman Parthenon." Mr. Chase said and I nodded. And thanks to that the next few moments were ones of silence...until the timer for the food went off.

Thanks for reading. It's a bit of a longer chapter this time...I was hoping to push for 3K words just because I haven't posted in a while, but this was a good place to stop so I decided not to extend it. Also I am writing this at 12:30am on Memorial Day Monday so I need to sleep.

Anyways I could totally have skimped on on updating today because it's Memorial Day and all. Just to be lazy, but no! I made the schedule I am gonna try to stick to it best I can...even if that is a holiday 😓

So I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next Monday...maybe sooner.
